iOS and iPadOS

All the music bought in the iTunes store used to be in .m4a format. Now I just noticed that with the latest batch of music I got from the store, on my iPhone it is in .aif format and on my iPod it is in .m4a format. They are the same songs on my iPhone and iPod and the music on both devices came from the store. I did not do any converting and I did not use iTunes on the computer for any of it. I downloaded it all directly from iTunes on the iPhone and iPod. Anyone know what's going on?

For some strange reason, my IPhone 6S+ has decided that when I get a new text message and either I've pushed the power button or it's dropped into autolock because of no activity after a couple minutes, it's not going to bother waking up and alert me or play a sound. Yet if I press the power button to bring up the lock screen, there's the notification of new messages however many minutes ago they were received. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? Thanks in advance!

I've been experiencing issues with message navigation in a thread on the native Mail app since iOS 18.1. I am now on iOS 18.2, but the problem persists.
Essentially, when I use the message rotor to navigate through messages—especially if there are more messages expanded—navigation using the rotor doesn't work properly.
Since this issue is still not resolved in iOS 18.2, if you're experiencing the same problem, we should consider creating some feedback to send to Apple.

This may not be a huge issue to others. But has anyone noticed that when you get a message notification, click on it, and it puts you on the "Back" button? Previously, when you click on the notification banner to check the message, it will automatically put you in the edit field? Is this just my phone or is it the new ios 12 update?

I am having issues with my message notifications. I have it set to repeat 10 times in 2 minute intrvals. For some reason, it only gives me the initial alert. I Can't find where else to go to fix this. Is someone else having this issue?

I have an iPad pro 9.7. I sometimes get the message sound when I send it and sometimes I have to restart the iPad to actually get it working. Yes, the messages send and recieve, because I tried texting my friend under those occations but she got the text just fine. I am just not sure if the message has succeeded. This is a small problem, however. Just curious of why this happens.

My sounds in messages are not working when I send a message. Any idea how to get this back?

Hey guys. I keep getting a message when I log into apps that says this password has appeared in a data leak. Is this someone trying to get into my phone or something, or is it a legitimate message? Should I listen to my phone and get it to change the passwords?

Has anyone experienced any freezing problems on the iPhone 5s in the messages app? Whenever I am at a text field to type a message, the phone seems to freeze for 5-10 seconds when I double tap the text field to type in it. Has anyone had the same issue? If so, how can I fix this?

I feel that the way text mesages are handled in iOS 16 has taken us a step backward. I am using Voiceover on an iPhone XR.

1. First the good. Nice that when one is in the Messages app in the list of messages, one of the context menu items (flicking up/down with one finger) is "mark as read" or "mark as unread". I've waited for this feature for a long time.

I'm having the most infuriating issue, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this, or can suggest any way of stopping it? Occasionally, for no reason I can pin down, people tell me that text messages I send them are being sent in Chinese characters, not English. I do not have Chinese as a language on my phone, and I can't figure out any pattern for when or why this is happening. Needless to say, it's driving me nuts.

Since upgrading to iOS 16 I have noticed a few issues between devices. I have an iPhone 8 and iPhone SE. This post is for the iPhone SE 2022. On the Lock Screen, when I double tap the messages notification that I want to open to respond to it slides to the right and displays an open button but voiceover cannot read or recognize the button. Instead of having to unlock my device and either have Siri read the message to me or open the messages app manually. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi, I am having a problem where I get a message and my notifications are set on banners. My phone dings when it's locked and on my old phone I would unlock it and the message would flash up as a banner, but on my new phone it doesn't flash up when I unlock the phone. Any reason for this.

Hi all, not sure where this would go since it involves both the Mac and phone. I added a huge folder of audio books to my library, just add to library, done. As i went hunting through, I noticed, though in order in the folder, in the music app and on itunes it wasn't. Besides the audio wasn't as good as I wanted to have it, so I thought i oculd delete it. Here's my mistake, I went in to the folder itself, deleted it from the itunes on the mac, then synced the phone only to have it still there both in the iTunes library and the phone.

Has anyone else experienced the facebook messenger app being annoying? I have been having trouble with it, when I begin typing the focus jumps to older conversations and I can’t type my messenge anymore. Its weird, the back button disappears and I need to double tap roughly where the button would be to jump out of the message and go back in to type again. Is there a fix or is this something new for just me :)

My friend sent me an audio message in Messenger. Couldn’t play it, and it failed the second time it was sent as well. I could play it through the website on my PC. Anyone else who uses Voiceover found this problem? Wishing you all a nice day!

I have a quick question about the messenger app. Spicifically it's ringtone. Is there a way to change it to another tone (spicifically the one that sounds when you receive a message) to a different tone? I'm only asking because while I like the sound, both my parents as well as I have Messenger. So it would be nice to change it to the tone to something different so that I know when it's mine going off Vs. my parents devices.

The current bug that we’ve had from the previous issue with the messenger app where it would read the whole entirety of the Fred seems to have gone and when you use your finger to go to the right hand side of the screen towards the bottom it now brings up the send like button. Let’s hope they fixed it but it seems like it to me. Muc as I’m quite cynical about these things, I’m sure it’ll reappear again in the future. But for now, it seems to be fixed.
