iOS and iPadOS
I'm writing this mostly as a heads up for those who, like me, didn't know that if you clean out your gmail mailboxes you lose all your i-device notes that were associated with your gmail email address. I was on my macbook a while ago where its much easier to clean out gmail mailboxes than it is on iphone or ipad. And I went overboard emptying my boxes of years of messages. But then found out I had also deleted years worth of valuable notes. Thankfully I did not lose any contacts even though they too are associated with my gmail account.
I‘m looking for an app which converts hand written text using the Apple Pencil to normal digital text and which is VoiceOver friendly.
Background: I‘m fully blind using VO on my iPad and iPhone. Because I went blind later in my life I‘m capable to write hand writing. The idea is to write text with Apple Pencil in hand writing and let it convert to normal text afterwards. If the textfield was seen as a normal textfield by VO I want to use the input mode in which immediate input is possible. So it should be possible to use the Pencil while VO stays switched on.
I have been using Notesy and it has been working flawlessly for the longest time. My last sync seems to be on the 27th, and I believe at that time, I was on IOS 11. It says dropbox error. The only thing I've done was upgrade to 11 and I think I did it on that day, but don't remember. I've sent an Email to the developer, but on checking the domain, I don't think they will get the Email I sent which included some debugging info which I sent yesterday. Is there another app I can use?
HI all. on www.pcsgames.net there is also a list of accessible IPHone games. I have browsed the list of games there as well as the list of games in the ap directory at applevis and I've noticed on phil vlasak's site a couple of games that are not in the ap directory. It would be great if someone can test these games and post accessibility comments to the ap directory. One game which is not in the ap directory at applevis is Dimensions by RJDJ.

I just got my iPhone 7 yesterday and I love it!!!!
My notifications aren't going to my phone.
I only get tweets and messages and other apps like Hatchi or Diceworld don't notify me on my phone.
I have to check on my Hatchi and the only way I know it's my turn on Diceworld is because the notifications go to my iPad.
I already restarted my phone and that still didn't help.
Is anyone having this issue and is this just a bug?
I have noticed some notification problems since installing IOS 11. Anybody else have found those. Here they are: The Podcast App icon does notappear with a count button when ther is a new podcast episode available. There was a count button on the app before IOS 11. AlsoI do not have a count number button on the Mail App when I receive new emails, since downloading IOS 11.1.2.
Hi everyone,
I have used iPhone 5 with iOs7 for six months. It's very interesting, and I can manage most of build-in apps. However, I cannot grab Notification, calendar, and reminder. And I could not find any tips on applevis, too. Please share your experiences, user guide, or podcast to me. All your helps are appreciated.
Thanks a lot
When notifications come from twitter or another app, it tells me the notification, it tells me it came 5 minutes ago, but 5 minutes ago it did not display the notification. This usually happens with apps that interact with the internet. Why might this be happening? I might not have explained myself very well, let me know if more clerification is needed.
Thank you.
Using 12 pro with iOS 15 and Series 5 with OS 8. Whenever the screen is lock, VO does not read message. However if I am not wearing watch no issues, message is read in the lock screen. Request that anyone who is using iPhone and watch and gets notification mesage on the lock screen share his or her setting for both please. Did not had this issue in iOS 14. I am able to get any other notification on the lock screen such as news or tweets. Help please.
Hello.
I am having an app that has it’s own notification sound and for some reason it only makes the threetone sound.
Is there a way to get the sound back without having to reinstall the app?
Hello everyone. I have not yet updated to ios 18 because I have heard about an issue where you are not always notified right away of messages and other notifications. I in fact have this problem with ios 17. Sometimes I'll receive a message, but I will not be notified about it until like ten minutes later. While exploring the ios 18 posts on here, I have found no one else experiencing this problem: or, at least, it hasn't been mentioned as far as I've been able to tell. All I've seen about notifications is if they're displaying in a stack or not.
Hi all. Since the latest 10.2, something seems to be popping up, and I can't figure out if this is a messages thing, a notification thing, or both. Recently I got the automated text from amazon, my order was shipped. I deleted this message, but now it seems like it's stuck. Not all the time, when I push the sleep/wake button to power the device to unlock, i see a "messages, two days ago, your amazon oder..." I don't understand whyt his is here, when the message is absolutely gone from the phone. Using iPhone six S plus, latest IOS you know the drill.
Hi, AppleVis
Using 12 pro with iOS 15 and Series 5 with OS 8. Whenever my iPhone is lock, VO does not read message, It does read other notifications. I know I got a message thanks to the haptic in my watch. When I touch the screen, VO reads the message. Also if I am not wearing the watch, VO does read message on the lock screen. I do not know what I did in setting when checking iOS 15. I did check setting message and everything looks OK. Same for notification for message. Help please.
Hi I received a large number of notifications on the lock screen and in notification centre sometimes the message will cut out and go silent halfway through the notification with voice over does this happen to anyone else and what could I do to you so this little niggling issue
Hi all,
I just updated to iOS17 the other night, and so far I am impressed. VoiceOver is a lot more responsive than it has ever been on my iPhone SE second generation. However, I'm having one problem that is kind of annoying. Despite my verbosity settings under system notifications being set to speak count, when a notification comes in, the entire notification is read. How do I fix this?
Hi all, Is this a bug? While DO NOT DISTURB is on, notifications are showing up. And when my alarm goes off in the morning, while the alarm is ringing, VO is also reading the notification that says, "Calls will be silenced...". The only work around I know for this is to turn VO speech off and then turn it back on after waking up. I thought that when in DND, notifications shouldn't be coming up at all. Thanks for any suggestions.
Is there any way to set notifications ONLY for certain threads you wish to follow in the native Mail app?I am looking for a way to get Lock Screen notifications only for particular threads I wish to follow and not for every single new message I get.
