Hi,
is there any other third-party speech synthesizer for iOS other than eSpeak and this unusable RHVoice app?
iOS and iPadOS
I am getting this message This Accessory May Not Be Supported.Whenever I am using a rechargible case. I got 2 from amazon and does not make a difference. I remove the case and reinstall it again and works. However the next time I want to recharge my iPhone 7 the same message comes up. I use a paper clip to clean the iPhone gently but this is not working. I went to make sure I did not have iOS update but using iOS 11.3. Help. What can I do? Using iPhone 7, iOS 11.3
Hello everyone. Well the following question has certainly got me stumped, so just wondering if anyone could offer any thoughts as to what's going on please? I have a certain text tone assigned to a particular contact so I know when they message me, but for some reason, during the course of today (ever since I was forced to perform a re-set on my phone using the power and home button job), alerts of messages from the said contact have been coming to me using the phone's default text message tone. This is despite the fact that the assigned text tone is still definitely selected.
hi all, i am now deciding here in the uk, whether to go for an iphone 6s, 7, or se. the se is cheaper on a pay monthly contract, but, as i have never had 3d touch, would i need it in general day-to-day use?i like the size of the se, and when i first had this iphone 6 12 or more months ago i did not like the size, but i do miss the compactness of the 5s and or se. i just don't want to get a 6s and or 7 if i wouldn't use 3d touch. i have an ipad mini for a bigger screen so just am torn as to what to do. thoughts?thanks Will
Hi Everyone,
The Clew development team has been hard at work responding to feedback from the community. This feedback has been extremely helpful to us, and we hope that you’ll keep it coming.
While we’ve received a lot of requests for new features, we have not had many reports on how folks are currently using Clew. If you have anything to report on how you (or your clients, if applicable) are using Clew, we would love to hear from you. On the other hand, if you have not found Clew useful for a specific reason, we’d love to hear that as well.
Hello everyone,
For the past four years I've been the owner of an iPhone XR, having come from the 6S. In that time, I resisted setting up Face ID to unlock my phone even though the regular reminders to do so annoyed me a fair bit.
However, I recently upgraded to an iPhone 13 and, for reasons I'm not entirely sure of, I've been considering setting up Face ID this time around.
Has anyone here attempted to do so with no vision whatsoever? Did you need sighted assistance to do so? Was it worth it/what has your experience been?
I recently attempted to do a five finger gesture to enable Braille screen input, but I found it clunky and unwieldy, I think four fingers is probably the most that you can do for a voice-over gesture before it stops feeling natural.
but what I was impressed with is the fourth finger tap near the top of the screen to jump voice-over focus to the top of a list, and near the bottom of the screen to jump to the bottom, I think that’s quite interesting and could be a potential way of expanding voice-overs set of gestures without having to add another finger.
What are people’s thoughts on Spring for twitter? Do you recommend it if so why? If you don’t why not?
I am an experienced VO user, but there are three things about texting that I just don't understand. The problem is that most of my friends are older and don't text, so when I do text someone I am out of practice.
If I compose a message, below the "To" field there is an "add contact" button. If I double-tap on it I'm in my contacts. But when I doubletap on one of them I get the regular contacts screen, and if I double-tap on the number of that contact, I'm now calling that person. How do I actually insert that contact in to my text?
I just noticed that the three finger swipe isn't working to go back to the previous page in Safari. I haven't seen this bug before today. Has anyone else noticed this?
Hello, I only found out about this topic from the audio games newsletter this morning, and find no mention of it on this site so far. I’m posting in this forum because one out of three is a game, and the other two are practice and observation. Echovis has three apps that are new, among others they’ve got about magnification. Anyhow, Echovis streets is to help you know when to cross the street with just your ears. It's not clear how many levels, as I’ve not gone through it all yet.
Recently apps like ‘Be My Eyes’ and ‘Seeing AI’ have added the ability to generate image descriptions using multi-modal Large Language Models (which can understand and generate both text and images) like GPT4Vision. I’m sure everyone has tried them, but for anyone who hasn’t, here’s the description I got by sharing a Toot to Be My Eyes this morning:
A fair amount of us blind VoiceOver users are into high fidelity sound that music streaming services, like Tidal provide. Based on this video there are 5 things required for TIDAL MQA iOS Apple Setup.
The 2 things I'm curious to hear what others are using, recommend, and are best for blind VoiceOver user are:
A recent update to the Tidal music streaming application has rendered It useless for Voice Over users. Track names can no longer be read by VO. Tidal refuse to refund my subscription so I have contacted my bank for a refund. spotify music streaming works well with VO in comparison.
