When I swipe through the smartnews app lately there's an area right in the middle of the news stories titled topics, and since I haven't chosen any topics that area is blank and I have to swipe a little ways to get back to the stories. Also there used to be a tab called discover that I could open to add new news sources and that's not there now. I did uninstall the app for a short time and then I reinstalled and that's when I noticed these changes, has anybody else noticed this and is there a way to make the app act like it did before?

So the issue is in the subject.
Today I subscribed to apple music and I noticed that when I opened different apple music links that were redirecting to the song the song never played and I don't know what song the person wanted me to listen.
I didn't try to open links without VoiceOver turned on, but it seems really strange.
Is there a way to fix this?

Has anyone used the stirr tv app? It has both live channels and on-demand shows. I have trouble navigating it because it often jumps me to the top or bottom to a place where I do not want to be at. Does anyone have any tips for using the stirr app effectively?

This story starts with my dad. He is a retired electrical engineer, a great craftsman and a dedicated family man.
Shortly after he retired, over the course of two weeks, he experienced a 90% loss of vision in his right eye. Two years later, the same thing happened to his left eye. After a battery of tests, doctors insisted that the only explanation was that my dad had suffered a stroke, (he hadn’t) and said there was very little they could do to help him regain his vision.

I believe the Tell Me When app has gone to that great App Store Cemetary in the sky.
I updated to the iPhone 16 Pro yesterday and Tell me When was listed as being in the Cloud.
This means that a new installation is not available and it doesn't seem to be in the app store.
Tel me when allowed you to enter the name of several book authors you enjoyed reading and when new books became available, you would get an alert on your home screen.
Does anyone know if there is a similar app available?

You folks remember the terrible issue with the playback speed adjuster on the YouTube iOS app, where we couldn’t even see the options and YouTube would often crash? Good news! It’s back. After getting used to the nice UI and forgetting about it, it just came back—and again, I have to use screen recognition to bypass it. I’m so tired of these companies not caring about millions of their disabled users when releasing updates, seriously; what even do these updates bring to the table?

Hey friends! We've just released the newest version of the Travelear app with some big updates. Most are in the accessibility and VoiceOver areas. Those improvements were made with the help of the awesome people here in the AppleVis community.
I'm starting a new thread because I think we've addressed most of the feedback you all had on the app and I want to start fresh. Features like "listen offline" aren't available yet but we're working on them.

Hey friends, the past two years you have been very helpful in helping make the Travelear app and website accessible to the blind and low-vision community. Through your comments and direct communication we were able to really bring it to the next level. We had a lot of requests for features and new content and tried our best to fulfill these with our two person part time team, myself and Nick. Our newest feature that was suggested several times by this community, is the ability to listen offline.

last Thursday, I was trying to clear an old device from my iCloud account. I thought I was focused on that device, hit the button, and it wiped out my current phone. After howling and pounding on the desk for a while, I tried to restart my phone. Of course, it wanted to send me verification codes using the phone number for my phone. but… That number was not accessible. Also, the method of getting a verification code from the settings was not accessible either. and, I did not have another Apple device, which could receive a code.

necessary, for example, the keyboard area of Garage Band. If direct touch is applied to an element which appears in the middle of the screen, this will disrupt the swiping flow, i.e.

Hi all. Has anyone noticed that the Sticato and accent vibration patterns have changed? The sticato one, pauses before the second buzz, the accent, again a milisecond of a pause. Now, when a text message comes it, it used to be rapid fire, but now, buzz, pause, buzz. Not, buzz, buzz. I realize I can't convey the actual feeling, no pun intended behind this. It just for some stupid reason, I don't like what they've done. Has anyone else noticed, or am i just being crazy? I hope they fix it.

I would like to report a new problem involving volume control in the control center and its announcement by VoiceOver. This problem appears in iOS 17.1.
What happens now, as shown in the screen recording Attaches to this email, is that VoiceOver announces the previous volume level When we make adjustment with the volume buttons.
Steps to reproduce:
1) make sure that VoiceOver is enabled;

It seems like the volume levels of songs in Apple Music vary. For example: I have a speaker connected to my phone and sometimes have to turn speaker and phone volume up as high as it goes and still isn't loud enough. Any suggestions on a fix for this? Thanks.

I live in Kansas city Missouri and I was wondering if anyone knew of an app, free or paid, that would give me accurate weather. I currently have the weather channel app but when it comes to alerts such as pollen alerts, it doesn't give me those alerts for my location. It decides to give me alerts for Shawnee Kansas. Really? I live there and I have specifically told this app that I live in Kansas city Missouri? Confused here! I have tried to e-mail they're support team and all I've gotten is an automated reply saying that they'll get back to me.

I wonder if anybody else has experienced this situation. I was attempting to buy Weather Gods. For some reason known only to apple, I was told that my credit card was expiring and to update my payment. Aple was wrong my credit card was not about to expire. I updated it on the app store screen and it still wouldn't take the update. I went into settings and into the app store settings for payment and chose the expiration date all over again for my credit card. the phone accepted it this time despite the fact that it was the same one I had put in all along.

I am using an iPhone 12 running IOS 18.2 and this issue did happen sometime back when I was on IOS 17. On the locked screen if you ask Siri to call or text someone using Whatsapp. you would get a response from Siri that says "Something went wrong"
While I was writing this post, I came across a help article that said if you have Face ID enabled on Whatsapp. you will get such a message. Ironically I had Face ID ON for Whatsapp. and turning it off from the settings helped. I can now make calls and send text messages from the locked screen using Siri
