When using the emoji search facility to find and insert an emoji in to a text field, when you double-tap on the desired emoji it will be inserted but rather than announcing the title of the emoji, VoiceOver will speak the last character that you typed in to the search field.

On iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, you can use the Measure app to instantly measure a personâs height from the floor to the top of their head, hair, or hat. (You can even measure the seated height of a person in a chair.)
The resulting measurement is displayed visually on screen but not accessible with VoiceOver.

This behaviour appears to be consistent across any native or third-party apps which have a bottom menu (tab) bar. For example, the App Store, iTunes Store, and the Music app.
- Ensure that VoiceOver is enabled.
- Open any app which has a bottom menu bar. For now, make it the App Store.
- Navigate to the Search tab.
- Place VoiceOver focus in to the search field and double-tap with 1 finger.
The onscreen keyboard should now be displayed.

If you attempt to use the VoiceOver rotor to drag a widget to the last available position on the Today View, you may find that focus will move to the Home screen and it is then not possible to navigate back to the Today View whilst still in Edit Mode.

After navigating to the Misspelled Words rotor option, you can easily jump to the previous and next misspelled word. However, if you press space with dot 4 to see the first replacement, though you get speech output, the replacement does not show up in braille. The highlighted word in question is the only thing shown.

When viewing a list of articles in the native News app, there are situations in which VoiceOver does not correctly report those articles which have already been read.
Specifically, if you read an article and then return back to the list, VoiceOver will report that it is âUnreadâ when you place focus on it in the list.
For articles on the âFor Youâ tab, you typically need to close the app via the App Switcher before VoiceOver will no longer report read articles as unread.

When viewing a message in the Mail app, the Back button will include a badge if the folder the message is in contains unread messages. This badge indicates the number of unread messages in the folder. This is not spoken by VoiceOver.

When viewing an interactive notification from the Mail app, the context menu items âDeleteâ and âMark Readâ may on occasions not function when located by swiping.
Specifically, if you use the swipe gesture to move VoiceOver focus through the notification until it lands on a contextual menu item such as Delete, nothing happens when you then double tap with 1-finger.
Our assumption is that the screen is not scrolling correctly to reflect the movement of focus, meaning that the menu items are not visually present on screen when you attempt to use them.

When typing on the on screen keyboard, you can choose to hear a clicking sound as you type each letter.
As a VoiceOver user, these sounds are intermittently disappearing. You may hear them for the first few letters or words of a message for example, and then find they stop.

The title says it all. While VoiceOver speaks the possibly detected text, there is no braille representation of this information. In certain apps, where this information can greatly improve access for speech users of VoiceOver, it leaves the braille only user without that additional access.

When configuring the "Per Voice" settings for certain VoiceOver voices like Fred and Ralph, the values for the WPM Minimum and WPM Maximum settings are not spoken correctly. Instead of announcing the numeric value, VoiceOver announces "WPM_format."

In certain circumstances VoiceOver will not read the network carrier shown in the Status Bar when focus is placed on it. You can no longer use the "React" option from the VoiceOver Actions Menu on notifications of new messages. If you use the "More" action to interact with a notification; the resulting page shows the message and a reply field. The Actions Menu can be accessed on the body of the incoming message and includes "React," but double-tapping on this does nothing.
