I am wondering if there is a way to temporarily disable the headset mike, using the phone's microphone instead. I find that in certain apps, like recording apps, I prefer using the phone's mike, because it sounds a bit better to me. Also, I use a hearing aid app, and that doesn't work very well with the headset mike, but if I could set it to use the phone's mike I could poart it at certain sound sources instead of being the main one myself.

Hi all. This happens with the mail app or on the Mac. I have certain addresses in gmail, that somehow don't show up. Such as groupon goods and the old entombed game. I hear the chime, if I'm lucky I'll catch what it says. If not, the message is gone. No notification, no message, I can't figure it out. I've searched the gmail app itself, nothing. If anyone has experienced this or can help, please because it's making me crazy. Oh, I wasn't already? ;)

Hello all.
I have recently migrated from an iPhone SE original to an iPhone 13 mini and I'm encountering an annoyance with the safari toolbar.
I prefer the address bar to be at the top of the screen so I have changed Safari's settings to single tab mode. It seems that with this setup Safari's toolbar disappears on many web pages. I can make it reappear by double tapping the status bar at the top of the screen.
Is there any way to prevent the toolbar from disappearing?

There is a bug that Apple hasn't been able to fix. Ever since the first iOS 13.0 release, Siri (male or female) will work with VoiceOver and Spoken Content services for a while but eventually crashes. Once Siri's voice crashes, Spoken Content features stop working; VoiceOver at least has the decency to fallback to Samantha. Siri voices will then appear on the list as if they aren't downloaded. Sometimes you can even redownload them and have the working again for a little bit, but they'll eventually crash and stop working again.

I've noticed a few times that my status bar will become silent when touching the top of the screen. No time, battery, wi-fi or other information is spoken. Restarting VO does nothing. The only way I've been able to get the text to read again is to power cycle the phone.
As for what causes the status bar to go silent, I can't repeat this, however I do notice this occurring after fAceTime calls or phone calls.
Does anyone else have this issue?

I don't know about you but accessibility has really gone down hill with the ring app and voiceover, however on my fire tablet ring works just fine like it once did on IOS. What happened? I sent them an email letting them know. Hopefully since amazon has bought ring they will fix this! Other than that I love the ring doorbell!

Hello Apple users, Koushik from India have been using iPhone from four years. Now my current device is iPhone 14 Pro Max, I’m really disappointed with auto language detection, especially Indian languages that too special mention towards South Indian regional languages. even though we added voices on router, but we can’t able to still Read any South Indian regional documentation. Automatically. I am posting here at the hope where it reaches to the Apple community. thank you.

I am very disappointed that Apple has not fixed this very long standing bug whereby VoiceOver keeps jumping to the top of the page when trying to read News articles in Apple's own News app.
This bug has been around for the last many builds, has been reported to Apple by lots of VO users, and is extremely frustrating!
Please all continue to write to Apple support and complain about this bug that makes it almost impossible to read news stories with VoiceOver!

Hi all. I had suggested an emoji search podcast a few days back. Since no one has taken me up on it, I have done a little research and here's what I found. The interface is cumbersome at best. Once in the emoji keyboard, you have the search field on top of your currently used ones. I found you have to write your term, find it, double tap, go back to the keyboard and hit space for the emoji to be inserted. for me, i wish they had used pickers as I find them easier and quicker to swipe through. Maybe I expected to much out of emoji.

Discord is great with voiceover on iOS, but I’m having a problem and I’m not sure if this is a bug.
I’m trying to leave a server using voice over, but when I double tap on that option nothing happens.

I'm not sure when this started happening, but now when I open Discord on my iPad Mini, I get the list of servers and channels, and the VoiceOver scrub gesture or Space+b does not close this screen and take me to the message list like it used to. Also, selecting a server in the list often opens the user profile or does something else random rather than changing the list of channels to the ones for that server.

So I tried to sign up to discord today on my iPhone, and what do I see. Image verification, great, I can just go down and there’ll be an audio challenge button, not a big deal

Ok Guys, made a very interesting find regarding those of you who like me have a custom gesture to get to the status bar. As you know for quite a long time this gesture doesn't always work. I now know why. I have no fix but extensive testing has shown that I think I am correct. So, the issue is with certain apps. Which apps I have no way of knowing so for some it maybe different ones. For me the easy reader app caused the issue and at first I thought this could be a media issue. However, I don't think it is as audible did not have the same issue.

Is it now permissible for those beta testing IOS 13.1 to discuss it on this site? It would be nice to know what bugs are resolved in 13.1. I would think it would be OK to discuss because, with IOS 13.1 coming out on 9/24, the current beta release would be the Gold Master and, as I understand it, Apple is OK with the Gold Master being talked about on this sight. That is why they were able to post about IOS 13 before the public release.

Hello all,
I just recently got Dish Satellite service for my home, and downloaded the Dish app for my iPhone 4S. I've read a few comments on here, that talked about this app not being fully accessible, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a podcast out there, that would have any info about how to search the channel guide, setting up Dvr recordings, etc? I don't have Internet serviceright now, so I don't have my Sling Adapter hooked up yet.
Also, would anyone know where I could get a channel guide, to see what channels are what, or is this offered in the app too?

I am thinking of picking up tv and was wondering peoples thoughts of accessability of dish or directv? I had time warner and there app is a joke and no one wants to update it reguardless how much I've tried.
