I'm looking for a digital driving journal for iOS that works well with Voiceover. I also gratefully accept tips on other ways to log mileage by car. I will have it to calculate and pay mileage compensation.
iOS and iPadOS
I recently subscribed to Classic Rock magazine. I thought the magazine would be in PDF but was not and VoiceOver cannot read it. I suppose I could go with a print copy since I still have some useful vision, but I would prefer digital. I tried to find an app that would read the magazine to me but all it is was a picture and no way to get it to read.
So after transfering my purchases over to my new phone, the bar-code scanner portion of DEL stopped working, it asks me to buy it again, the company has no answer, and apple can't help. anyone else seeing this? any thoughts.
Can anyone help. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if this is some kind of bug or bad update...
I'm trying to play a bunch of previously accessible apps however when on them, the only feedback I get from VoiceOver is "Direct touch area", everywhere on the screen. If I rota and enable direct touch, I then get no VO feedback at all.
Since iOS 17, when one takes a screenshot and immediately invokes the dialog to adjust or share it, a large portion of the screen, which I assume is the image part, is now a direct touch area. Unfortunately I can't seem to toggle this with the rotor as usual, and it doesn't appear in the list of direct touch apps. Does anyone know if there is a rationale behind it being a direct touch area, or if it should be filed as a bug?

Just thaught I'd let you all know that in IOS 16.0.2 when using direct touch the focus no longer jumps around. I've tested it with BitLife and it works.
Hello
Hoping for help from someone who is a bit more up-to-date with
Apple than i am.
Problem
I have coded a game that uses Direct Touch and works fine on ipad 17.5.1
and will not work on ios 17.5.1
ipad is gen 10
iphone is iphone13 mini
I can enable Direct Touch from the rotor but it does nothing
i have de-selected it from the list of direct touch apps
then re-enabling it from the rotor
to no success.
Is there hope in ios 18?
Hi everyone,
I came across a few mentions of "Direct Touch" on the forum today, which seems to be a feature that will allow touches/gestures to bypass VO. This seems like it could be super useful, however I am not able to find it anywhere in my settings. How can I activate it? I am running an iPhone 8 on 14.1, if that helps.
Thanks so much!
I was playing the Nebula arcade game, and I was on the screen that had a new game and menu level buttons. I played with the rotor for some reason and came across a rotor item which says "direct touch". I flicked down and got the choices "on" and "off". This was not in a text field. It doesn't look like the typing style rotor item, so I'm wondering what it is. I've tried looking in the manual and another reference book, but only direct touch typing is mentioned. Any ideas?
So direct touch typing works everywhere else. But when on a phone call, the dial pad reverts to standard touch typing. Apple engineers have actually confirmed that this is incorrect behavior. But nothing has been done to fix it.
I am looking for guidance on navigating books on the kindle iPhone app.
I have not used the kindle app on my iPhone for at least 3 years. Back then I do not remember having any access issues with the kindle app.
I just downloaded a book today. When I opened the book all I got was a message that said “image”. I tapped on the screen and I got options like copy, notes, ets. The only way I could get out of that screen was to go line by line to the bottom of the section.
So, I just got DirecTV and I’ve a few questions about the app.
1. Is it accessible?
2. Is there a way to get Audio Description for shows? If so, how?
3. Is the remote part of it accessible and can you set Audio Description on your actual TV using the remote portion of the app? If so, how?
you know how in iOS, App icons have badges, where they will say things like 10 items, 11 items, etc.? I know that if I go under notification and control center settings, I can disable badges on an app per app basis, but is it possible to globally disable badges a crossed all installed apps? I don't want to disable push notifications altogether, I simply just don't want any of my apps to show a badge count. I am an extremely advanced iOS user, and I don't recall seeing the setting anywhere.
Warning: I'm a complete technophobe and am probably asking seriously dumb questions and am probably posting in completely the wrong forum!!
My son has managed to damage his iPod 5 by sitting on it and the Home button is now not working properly. He's managed to use an 'onscreen' home button, but the original button often thinks it's being held down permanently, so voice control keeps activating.
I've looked for tips to disable and am told to go on General>Turn passcode on>voice control, but there's no voice control button.
Hello friends,
I was browsing my facebook and text messages recently and realized that most of my friends were sending me messages with lots of emoticons attached to it.
Now although i know, emoticons and punctuations are a good way of expressing oneself,i was wondering if there was a way to disable voiceover from reading emoticons and punctuations;so i would be able to read just the text instead.
Was just wondering if this was possible.
If it were possible? How could i do it?
Thanks
Arvind
HelloI know that eventually I will have to upgrade from my iphone 6 s. One thing I really like about touch id is the ability to quickly authenticate with apps without having to enter my pass words. If I disable attention mode, will I still be able to use face id to quickly authenticate into apps?
