iOS and iPadOS

Greetings: I am curious if there are people out there who have hooked up their iOS device to their surround stereo, whether it be 5.1 or 7.1 sound, and tried to play some of the iOS games. If so, can you recommend games that work well over a 5.1 surround system? Hope this makes sense. Thanks again, and happy gaming. Scott

Hi all,
My girlfriend and I discussed playing games together when we can't physically see each other, since we are in a long distance relationship. Therefore, I was wondering, what games besides Zanagrams and Dice World would be interesting for her as the one who is sighted in the relationship? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Is there an app or a combination of apps I can use on my iPhone 5 with Voiceover that will allow me to record a route by dropping virtual breadcrumbs and also allow for recording with my voice any landmarks along the way.

Thanks!

Hello fokes. I'd like to share my thoughts and opinion with other users about my prefered typing keyboards to input text. I've been using Fleksy Keyboard since the first day of purchase from the AppStore on fall 2012. I love how fast and acurate I use to type on Fleksy, it was a new typing experience for me. When the iPhone 5S came out this fall things have been changed, the processor on the iPhone 5S has made my typing experience better and much faster than previous iPhones using the iOS keyboard. I applied the same typing tecneeq I learned from Fleksy and had good results I can say.

I regularly run into low storage problems on my ipad and iphone, both 16Gb models. When I check usage for each app I find the total is way less than the total reported by ios. I have found the only way to recover a large chunk of memory is to do a backup, do a full reset, then do a restore from the backup. This results in my device restoring to exactly the same state it was before the backup except several Gigabytes are now free! Does anyone know why ios seems to gradually grab storage and not release it without a full reset and restore?

Hi all. I was browsing a mail message on my phone this morning. The message is marked up by heading. Every time I read a heading, if I swiped right to read something about it, the app would go back into the default actions. Drives me crazy. Is this a bug or is this normal? If it's normal, they need to fix it. By default, I mean it would say actions like trash, read, flag things like that.

I have conversation view enabled for the iOS Mail app so messages show up as grouped threads. When I use the messages rotor action to swipe up or down to go between messages, sometimes it will lose track of the order. For example, it will announce message seven of eight, but then as I’m trying to read through that message, suddenly it will be on message one of eight. Has anybody else experienced this? Thanks.

Hello all,
Is it possible to have multiple mail accounts using the native mail app on iOS? Also if so can I keep the inboxs seperate from one another so all my messages do not go into the same inbox on the app?

Hello all. Generally, I enjoy using the Mail app to check my Email on the go. The only problem is that when I then access my Email on my home computer, all of the messages that I've already read download again into my Outlook account. I then have to sit there deleting all these redundant messages I've already read, replied to, or deleted in the iOS app. Is there a way to tell the app not to leave a copy on the server after it downloads messages?

Hi all,
I wanted to ask what probably is a very basic question about IOS memory. Recently I've been checking my free space more often as it is gradually declining, and I've noticed that immediately after installing app updates, it has decreased by a small amount every time. For example, I was at 14.67 free space, and after installing 10 updates, it now reads 14.62. I just wondered is this normal?
Thanks all.

Hi,
so I updated to iOS 11 and I was scrolling up through a message conversation I had saved. When I was gtting closer to the top of the messages, I saw that only my messages were showing up, but not the other person's messages. Is this a bug or all the iMessages get removed when you update.

Hello,

I searched for this issue not on this site, but the whole net, and I couldn't find anything.
After dictating something on a text field the microphone keeps active, and nothing but a phone call or a device restart will stop it. You can check this by dictating something, and setting a very high or low volume, then make a phone call, you can dial your number. Now check the volume, it will be different. Also, this causes battery to drain faster.

Anyone noticed this? Or am I becoming crazy.

Hello all,
I regularly listen to audio books and audio I've extracted from tv shows I downloaded/wripped from dvds, ETC...
I wondered if there were any free iOS apps that support playing a track/album like in the music app but pausing it, marking it, coming back to it later or next time the app is opened even if something else is played after it.
Also good seeking and scrubbing is ecentual.

Using the native email app is it possible using voiceover to read an email without having every column and row number read out. It’s annoying and time consuming.

Hello
I haven't been here for a long time and today I back to make a question regarding to
the native iOS podcast app
I am subscribed to few Podcast channels and are set to automatic downloads.
however since last week I haven't seen any new episodes in my library
This came after apple release the laters software update 13.6.1 I don't know if this is something to do with the later software version or just there not new episodes to download.

In Google Maps, you can receive directions to individual bus stops, at least in Sydney, Australia, where I live.

Are there any other apps which offer this functionality?

I wasn't sure where I should post this, so hope it is ok to post it here... Being Korean that uses the lunar calendar, I was very excited to see the option of Chinese calendar in the calendar app, but I soon became very disappointed because the numbers for this calendar is all in Chinese! I wish apple would consider adding lunar calendar or make the Chinese calendar speak out the days in the default language so all nationalities can use the Chinese calendar.
If anyone knows of an app that can add in lunar calendar in the calendar app, that would be so awesome too!

I'm aware of the magazine. Are there any other accessible publications that people have found will successfully work using voiceover?

Hello everyone on Applevis,

This is my first post (though I've been a very long-time lurker), so before I get to the subject, I'd like to thank you all for all the information you've been providing. This is a wonderful resource - I think I'm an advanced iOS user but I'm not sure I could have been one without Applevis.

And now on to my question:

Greetings: I love the Outlook email client on my iPhone. I am blind and am a VoiceOver user. Literally overnight, VO, rather than read the sender and subject, now simply states, "YOU". I removed the app and reloaded, but this did not solve the problem. Has anyone experienced this and if so, has anyone been able to correct the problem? Prior to this change, VO would announce the sender, subject and time of email. Thanks so much.
