I am a fully sighted person trying to set up an iPhone 8 Plus for a fully blind person.
I have not been able to find any online resources for a step-by-step guide to setting up an iPhone for a fully blind user who has never used a smart phone or been on the Internet.
Does anyone have any recommendations or links for such a resource? Thanks in advance

So I got in to beta testing about 8 or so months ago. And I absolutely love it. I am not sure where else to look. So if anyone has an app they'd like for me to test, please email me at [email protected] i think beta testing is awesome and I love helping ′ out the best I can.
I'm a student working with a team of other students trying to develop an app specifically for the blind community. As we're researching all of this, I wanted to get some feedback from all of you about what kinds of things you'd like to be able to do on your phone but can't currently. Is there anything that you've found to be seriously lacking on your phone? Anything that's possible but still difficult? Anything that's easy for sighted people but which you haven't found a good solution to?
Greetings all. For several yeas, I used the tv guid mobile app. The most recent update to this app has totally broken it for voiceover users. Not even my dad could figure out how to use it and he has site. What app could I use to replace tv guide mobile? The app can be free or paid, it doesn't matter? I know the nfb newsline app has a tv guide, however, I'm not signed up with the service.
When Audioboom first came out, I wasn't really interested, so never listened to the introductory podcast on this app done by Anonymouse. I am now beginning to use the app, and cannot locate the podcast in the 100 listed in my podcast feedCan someone tell me how to find this podcast? Thanks for your assistance.
Hi, subject says it all: i am looking for a good, complete podcast player with googlecast /chromecast support; i am using downcast witch unfortunately is not updated anymore; it supports googlecast but doesn't work well with my sony android tv..
I have read comments on the forums that indicate there are screen reader accessible video editing software out there. I need to find something that will work with either voice over or NVDA for my job. Any suggestions?
Hello everyone. I'm looking for a very simple bible app that is accessible. I don't require there to be many bible version options as long as they have something more understandable than the KJV. I use Dwell, but for things like sermons and bible studies, that app doesn't cut it. I need something where I can easily navigate between books and chapters, and that is available offline. I use FastBible, but the WEB is not my favorite. any recommendations would be lovely. Thanks so much!
Hey everyone,
As a blind teenager, I find it difficult to look for accessible social networking apps that my sighted friends use. A lot of my friends are always talking about Snapchat, but as you all know, it isn't accessible with VoiceOver. Does anyone have any suggestions on what apps I should get that other teens may have?
Does anyone have any experience using Capti Voice Narrator? I would really appreciate a walk thrue of how to get the app to read my iBooks to me. I am wondering if the app can do this or only get content from the web. Its a really fantastic app. I'm of course missing something on my end.
Thanks and have a good week. A big thanks in advance for your help.
I just bought Story Planner for iOS. At first glance it looks accessible with all the buttons labeled clearly. But I can't figure out how to add information like character list, scene cards etc. When I double tap one of the buttons, VO identifies an empty list, but I can't figure out how to enter information in the list.
Hello all,
This is probably been touched on before and I apologize but I've got a real complex one. Looking for some ideas or easier ways I could navigate this automated phone system as it can get quite tedious using a touch screen. I'm good with most automated systems but this one by far is the hardest for me. It's a call off system for my employer. Why they just don't let you leave a voice message is beyond me. Anyways here are the steps:
