iOS and iPadOS

Anyone who knows me will be shocked to learn that I have started getting fit. I'm excited by the many apps and sensors that are available for the iPhone and there potential to help me in my endeavour. However, I don't want to splash the cash on things like a FitBit or a heart rate sensor without knowing the apps that they connect to are going to be accessible enough for me to get some benefit out of using them. So, in an effort to save time and money - does anyone have the lowdown on what to buy and what to use for getting fit? Thanks in advance. JT

Hello.
Does anyone know of a pill identifier app for the iPhone 6?
I was going to recommend the script talk app from envision America, however, this person doesn't have a iPhone 7 or higher. The person has an iPhone 6.
I was thinking of seeing AI, but if anyone knows, Please comment on this post.

Hi guys! I've applied for a job as a summer substitute journalist at a local newspaper. Even though I have no formal education within the field of journalism, they have agreed to hiring me for one week of probation first, to see if I got any talent... :) So now I'm trying to prepare as good as I can, so I'll do a hell of a job there! :) One of the things I would like to do, is to be able to record phone calls while doing an interview, so I can come back and listen to it afterwards, so I'll not miss any important elements when writing out the article.

Hi.

I'm wondering if there is an app that work's fully with voice over that will allow you to have a second phone number? for example, Lets say you meet a friend, and they want your contact info, but you don't want to give out your real phone number. Does that make sence? Thanks.

Jay.

Hello, I've been trying to find my local scanner feed so I can tune in with an app I have. I got police radio after listening to a podcast on applevis, but the closest feed it has is for my county, yet not my local area. I realize that some apps may have a different database, but this app does give you an option to enter in your own feed url and tune in that way. Once I obtained the feed url, I would then contact the app developer to see if they can put it in the datebase for others to access. I have tried going to websites to find my local feed and I'm having no luck.

I'm looking for a app that can record in the background. And that uses MP3 format. Would like it to be a free app but if it's a good quality app I'll pay.
Thanks.

Hi,
does anyone know a simple iOS or watch app which provides push notifications when in a certain location?
Example: I'm on a bus where the announcement for the next stop isn't always clearly spoken. I'd like to use an app to notify me when my station is within a certain distance.
I know that there are many GPS apps out there but I'm looking for one which I don't have to set up every time and which works also in the background.

Thanks.

Ben

I am looking for tutorials/lessons/whatever else that might be available out there that might be accessible that will help me learn yoga, pilates or even tai chi. I need to get in better shape and to work to minimize an inherited spinal problem that was recently diagnosed. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

chris

Hello Applevis,
Does anyone know if Hulu has fixed any of their accessibility bugs? I canceled my subscription a couple of months ago because it had some accessibility issues, and found it pointless to be paying money on something I can't use, because it's inaccessible.
IF it's fixed I'm willing to get my subscription back.
Just wanted to hear from the appleVis community.

My partner has an iPhone 8, and it updated to iOS 14.2 up from 13 overnight. Whenever he tries using a three finger quadruple tap to copy spoken text to the clipboard, it ends up copying the text it pulls when it automatically tries recognizing things…
Except that’s not supposed to happen with the iPhone 8. Of course, there is no way to disable it in settings, since it isn’t supposed to work on this model. Anyone else having the same experience?

Is it just me or does anyone still notice the bug when you hang up from a call voiceover will still sound as if the call is still there. I've noticed it from time to time but not as much as I did when the bug was first introduced.

I've been able to avoid iOS 11 by pressing "Don't agree" on the terms and conditions. But hey I have an iPhone 6, and I'm afraid iOS 11 will slow it down more than 10 does.
Just curious if anyone else is on 10.

Point blank! the Skype app for IOS is pissing many of us off. Anyone know any devs that would be willing to build us an accessible version? I know we now have access to the API. What are your thoughts!

I know a lot of you probably use foobar2000 on the PC, or have at least heard of this advanced, customizable and accessible media player. I use it on my PC all the time.
Well, now it's on iOS. I haven't tested it yet, but if someone wants to try it and report back, possibly adding it to the directory, LMK.

Hello Apple Vis,
I was wanting to ask if anyone has used Rewardable? It is an app that is similar to many others out there such as Perks line of apps like Perk TV, or Swag Bucks.
Has anyone used the app and not gotten any acorns when doing tasks? I've done several and I had read that it takes some 24 hours to process. yet again nothing has processed. I am not sure if it could be some VoiceOver issues or what it could be. I do know that some of the things that do occur, have some accessibility issues. Such as ads that you would watch for Acorns.

Hi everybody, subject line says it all. Last night when a neighbor and I were going through the workbook section for this morning's Bible-study session, he mentioned this project and he gave me the website. I went to http://www.thebibleproject.com and checked it out, and it seems pretty accessible with VoiceOver. Has anybody used their iOS app and if so, is it accessible too? This project seems to be a companion to Practicing the Way, which I mentioned on here previously.
