I am trying to use Excel but can't figure out a very basic thing which works fine across all OS and screen readers. What I am wanting to do is mark a certain row as column header. So when I move from one column to another in any row, I should no the column header. I have titles like Issue, Description, Completion Status and deadline on the first row. Now when I am filling up data in all the rows I should know the column when I do tab or shift tab. How can I mark the first row in this case as the header to be announced on every column change?

Hi all. Is there a way to mark text on a mac to copy it to the clipboard? Instead of having to select the text, is there a way to mark the starting place where you want to start copying something, and then mark the place where you want to stop, and then just press copy? Thanks for any help.

I'm running macOS 15.1.1 and I have the same problem on 15.3 beta 2. I tried this in standard mode as well as announce groups. Basically in iMessage in a conversation I hear "one possible mention, contact_name" when I type it or with @contact_name, but it doesn't seem possible to actually mention it, clicking the contact I didn't find it exposed to VO, as per their documentation. If I remember it correctly on iOS the contact name appears around the text field and with explore by touch we just double tap it or something along those lines.

Hello, I'd like to demonstrate iPhone's capabilities and ways a visually impaired person uses VoiceOver. I've displayed iPhone's screen on Mac but VoiceOver instructions were not transmitted via Mac's speakers. Is there any way to do that. Of course, I can use a mirror mac to pc app but hope transfering everything from an iPhone, including VoiceOver instructions should be very easy without third-party apps. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hello,
I have an issue .... somehow my cyursor is placed extremely deep inside my e-mails list, like in messages from around 2006.
I need to read my recent e-mails, but I can not place the cursor at the iop of the list ... vo shift cmd left arrow does not work.
The onlly thing I can do is place vo up arrow and keep this combination hold bbut it would take me very time to reach the top of the list.
Is there a more eficient way to go to the top of the e-mails list?

Hi all, I’m a new mac user. After switching to the mac eco system, I found out a problem: The flash object on safari was not easy to navigate. I felt hard to pause, play or adjust the slide control when I’m on video site such as youtube. Just want to know how you can do this?

I was wondering how to open an attachment in mail other then Pages. When I'm in a mail message and there's an attachment, I do VO +shift+M and that says open, open in...and when I say Text Edit it doesn't do anything. I know you can set the default to open somewhere else. But still. Thank you.

I need some assistance with get my podcast up and running.
I record my audio with Audio Hijack and a Samson Meteor Mic so my sound is good.
I have my webpage up and running but I am stuck on there to upload my audio to and then link to it from my webpage.
I use blogger for my page which is probably my first mistake.

Hi folks, Due to not being able to use my left hand, i have to use the stickykeysfeature in osx yosemite to press all the modifiers (shift, control, selection, fn etc.) on my macbook air. However, whenever I press one of these keys Voiceover first says stickykey, which is a pain in the a* Can I turn this nuisance off somehow? I have already changed voiceover verbosity to low, but doesnt solve my problem. Any idea? Won't be happy with my mac if this problem doesnt get solved. In apple support forums nobody had an idea either.

As it says on the topic, when I’m using voice over on a text editing software, and I hit enter it randomly blurts out a number. Usually this is zero. It’s driving me to distraction. I’ll tried to go into verbosity and change all the settings but still it continues to spit out zero every time I hit the enter button in pages or notes. Not sure if it happens and other apps as well. Any fix on this?

I've had an iPhone for a couple years now and am pretty familiar with that, but am new to the desktop interface. I am trying to put sample files into folders as part of a class project. However, no matter how I select the folder, it always puts the item in the highest directory. For example, I am trying to put a new folder on my disk called 13 colonies in my CTEC103 folder on my USB drive.

when I'm somewhere in the Messages app I don't get any kind of notification if someone sends me a message. There's no sound at all. VO also doesn't announce something. I have to leave Messages after every single message just to make sure that I get notified when a replay arrives.
Is there anything I can do to change that behaviour? It would be nice to know about arriving messages. Having several conversations at once makes it even more difficult when there's no sound or anything.

Hello everyone. Does anyone know of an App on the Mac that could read a Pdf with Vo+A that has Tables, Links, and much more? I know that Voiceover is now capable of reading Tables but can someone please suggest an app so Voiceover reads the document straight all the way? Please reply as soon as possible.

This one's most probably trivial, but how the heck can I read with VoiceDream reader using either arrow keys or VO cursor? Since my book is technical, I don't want to read it like an audio book.

I just updated my OS to the latest OS but I couldn't find my ringtones which I purchased from iTunes before. All the songs (music) are there but the ringtones was gone. When I search back in iTunes, they did mention that I ever bought that ringtones when I click buy tones but it seems no options to download it again (only buy button and cancel button were available). I tried to visit iTunes.com/restore-tones but they said my tones were not affected.
anyone could help me in this matter?

Is there a way to remotely control a Mac when using Voiceover?
I know of screensharing, but that does not transmit the audio between the macs... So does any of you know of any good alternative that will work like the NVDA remote on Windows?
