I need to boot my Mac M1 in Safe Mode to check a problem that I'm having with an app. The problem is that in the Mac M1 the process to achieve this is different and I haven't found how to do it with VoiceOver. I'm supposed to shutdown the Mac, and then press and hold the power button to get in the recovery menu. Then I have to look for the Continue button and press it holding down the Shift key. so that it will convert to Continue in Safe Mode. Haven't found how to do it since I don't have a mouse or trackpad connected. Any help will me appreciated.

Is there a way to tell the Mac to ignore what it thinks is a physical play button press, such as would be sent from a headset or other external audio device, and allow that signal to proceed to the active app?

So I have got quite an accessible pdf, it's from a book in the ebscohost library.

hi folks

Is anyone able to inform me if it is possible and if so, how, can I stop voice-over from announcing the row numbers in a numbers spreadsheet.

I'm often using quite large spreadsheets where I'm having to frequently navigate up and down throughout the day and since updating my Mac OS, voice-over now always reads the row number before the cell content as I arrow up and down throughout the sheet, which I'd much rather not hear.

Has anyone found a way to stop voiceover reading the box drawing characters in terminal? I've tried everything I can think of, including specifying them as punctuation to not be spoken and specifying them as pronunciations with no replacement value, but no luck. Anyone?
these are the characters I'm referring to:

Hello! Recently I've got a Mac and I've joined the Apple Beta software to use the latest macOS Ventura. I've installed that OS on a secondary volume, because I didn't want to break my daily driver. But, I've some problems with these volumes. How can I switch between them more efficiently? I don't want to change the startup disk every time when I want to switch to Monterey or Ventura. It takes so long when it boots in the OS after changing the startup disk. I already know how to switch between disk once by holding the power button when the Mac starts, but then?

Hi, all.
I'm creating a short music clip for my music tech class, and I was wondering how to trim a track? I've tried looking for Garage Band ke commands, but some of them are out of date/don't work.
Also, if anyone knows of a program to layer pictures ontop of a sound, please let me know!
Thanks!

My Mac Mini is running Tahoe 26.5.

When composing an email message in the Mail app, if I paste text, VoiceOver announces "paste," and then reads the entire text I pasted. The "paste" announcement is new behavior since I upgraded from Sequoia.

Is there any way to turn off the "paste" announcement? It's unnecessary and distracting. Other native MacOS apps don't exhibit the same behavior (notably TextEdit), Messages, and Pages. So it's unclear why Apple felt it was necessary in the Mail app.

Hi all,
Early last year, I had difficulty reading documents because every so often, words would be split across two lines. Some words would wrap to the next line and this would make reading very difficult.
For example:
'The sargent wanted rev
enge for war crimes.'
When the sentence should have read:
'the sargent wanted revenge for war crimes.'
I posted a forum topic about this early in 2020

Hi, I'm not sure if this is possible as I've searched VoiceOver utility but thought I'd ask just in case I'm missing anything.

Is it possible to turn off the language detection on Mac like you can on IOS.

Hello.
I was wondering how to turn off mission control in Mac OS? The reason is because I'm using the trackpad and when I perform a three finger flick down the mission control window pops up. I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, and it's really annoying!
Thank you.

Hello everyone
I am wondering if one of you know the VO command to turn off tweet notification for some specific user on the Native twitter app for Mac OS or if you know the workaround to turn off it.
Accidentally hit a few keys on my keyboard couple weeks ago and I did not know which were, When I go to turn off the tweets notifications from the iOS device the interesting thing is I have turn off the notification for this user however only I receive the tweet notification every single time who this user post something on the Mac.
Thanks and advance.

Hi all! I've now installed 10.9 Mavericks on my Mac, and all looks good so far. However, I'm having one serious problem with the new OS: currently, it appears like when VO is speaking, the sounds coming from all other apps will play with reduced volume. For example, I noticed that when in a Skype call, the volume of the call will *always* duck when VO is talking, which I think is extremely annoying. Furthermore, sounds like for incoming mail are also affected, making them extremely hard to hear when they play while VO is speaking and without headphones.

I use Big Sur 11.4.
I unchecked voices that I don't want in VoiceOver Utility > Speech > Voices.
For example, Daniel for British English and Karen for Australia.
I also made sure the list is the same in system preference > accessibility > spoken contents.
However, they still appear when I press vo+shift+command+arrow to select voice.
I also went to Macintosh HD/system/library/speech/voices, and nothing is there.
I rebooted, reset all setting for VoiceOver in VoiceOver Utility > File > Reset All VoiceOver Preferences.

Hello,

I recently started using Chrome on the Mac, since Safari's behaviour has been quite strange these days.
Does anybody know how to use the option to autofill forms?

As for Safari, when I load a page VoiceOver always reads Empty HTML Content, in most pages. Then I try on Chrome and the page loads normally. Have you noticed this behaviour?

Thanks

Hi everyoneโ˜บ๏ธ Does anyone have experience using the Chord ID / Analyze Chords feature in Logic Pro purely with VoiceOver? I am looking for information on how to trigger this analysis using the screen reader and how accessible the global Chord Track actually is for us. Are there specific VoiceOver workarounds or custom key commands required to make it work? Thanks for any help!โ˜บ๏ธ
