Hello,
Ever since yosemite I have not been able to use my iPhone as a hotspot. Bluetooth and wireless are enabled on both and hotspot is enabled on the iPhone. But it does not show up in the wireless dropdown menu as an option to connect. I know the hot spot feature works because I can connect to it from with Windows in Boot Camp on the same machine. Is there an accessibility issue here or is something not set up correctly? I have the same iCloud account set up on both machines and they are even on the same network. At a loss at this point....thanks.

Hi there, newbie here..
I would like to know if there are any unique differences that any of you have observed when interacting with a web page components with a MAC and VO. I couldn't find a topic discussing the same here. Let it be paragraphs, headings, table, sliders, widgets, grids etc..
Hi everyone,
I'd like to gauge interest for something I've been thinking about for a while: a native macOS app dedicated to recording internet radio streams.
Let me be clear upfront: this would not be a radio player. The idea is a focused tool built specifically for capturing, scheduling, and organizing radio recordings — with full VoiceOver support baked in from day one.
10 Years ago I had an intel mac. due to all the issues regarding voiceover I was able to cell it.
After a few years without a mac I am getting the urge to buy one of the m1 or m2 macbooks.
I am working in the accessibility field nowadays and I have the feeling a mac in my life can find its place along side my windows boxes.
I work with a visually impaired student who uses a MacBook Air with Voiceover. The command key stops carrying out it's normal functions e.g. command tab to move between applications, or command s to save. It is an intermittent problem which sometimes prevents normal typing too, bringing up a series of help menus instead of the letter. Has anyone else experienced this problem and how did you deal with it?
Is there a way of disabling the command key by using different combinations of keys? Many thanks in advance, Pip
Hi all. My Mac suddenly wants my Facebook pw. I have no idea why, so can anyone explain this? i didn't change my password, so I know it isn't that. Thanks.
Hello there! Here's hoping there's a healthy number of audio game players here.
I'm posting because I'm part of a team of three, developing a narrative driven, 3D binaural audio game (entirely accessible to the blind and VI community), featuring explorable, immersive sound worlds, a complex dramatic story and multiple innovative audio mechanics based on psycho-acoustic principles. The game will be available on PC/MacOS/Linux, and Android/iOS.
Hi all, I've created a couple of small, simple apps that I think might be of use to others. They are as follows:
I wanted to introduce the AppleVis community to our email newsletter app, Direct Mail, which has recently been updated with full VoiceOver support. Not long ago, a member of AppleVis reached out to us with some great suggestions as to how we could make our app even more accessible to low-vision users. Her email inspired us to revisit every feature of Direct Mail with an eye towards improving the accessibility experience.
Hi everyone,
Some of you may already know app-suite.eu through agram or aScan. I'm happy to introduce the latest addition: aCapture, a menu bar utility for macOS that lets you record audio from multiple sources simultaneously — apps, system audio, microphones, audio interfaces, and even an iPhone or iPad over USB.
Why I built this
Hello mates,
here is my new app for MacOS. An easy tool to help blind people to know if we are sit just in front of the camera for a video meeting.
Here is the description from the MacAppStore:
Have you got any problem to know if your head is centered in front of your camera? Are you not able to see your screen or are you a blind person?
Using CenteredHead you can know if your head is centered in front of the camera.
