Hi everyone, Today Iβm excited to share something thatβs been bringing me a lot of joy over the past few months, my new Mac app, ChimeKeeper! Iβve always loved chiming clocks. Theyβre a gentle, calming way to stay aware of the time, especially while working.

Hello everyone, I'm really excited to finally share my first cross-platform application with you all!
Hi all,
2MB Solutions would like to announce the release of their second audiogame (and first to run on Mac so far), Mine Racer! See the announcement below, and feel free to download the demo or purchase a copy.
Hi all,
my name is Ivan Soto. I am a blind software developer and enjoy making audio games from time to time. Most of my games are PC games only, but today I am glad to tell you that the initial port for one of my games is complete.
What game is this?
The game is called Perilous Marathon. You may or may have not heard about it before, but it has been around for the PC for a while, and was previously on the Mac for a limited time.
Hi everyone,
Iβd like to introduce Petal Feed, an RSS reader that is now available for the Mac through the Mac App Store.
As someone who is legally blind and relies on accessibility every day, I wanted to create an RSS reader that feels completely at home on macOS with VoiceOver and keyboard navigation.
Solocontutti allows musicians to play together across the internet with minimal latency - low enough to play together in real time without delay. The app has been around for a while and has several thousand users. Recently it has been updated to allow it to be used with screen readers and has been thoroughly tested with Voiceover on Mac and Narrator on Windows.
Hello, I am a developer of a simple app which allows to quickly switch audio outputs on Mac. I am very new to MacOS myself, and even more new to programming for Apple. However the program is working well and can be used normally.
I have posted it to the app directory. I know that it is not advised for developers to post their own software to the directory, however I decided to do so since I am blind myself and I understand how the application performs with accessibility in mind.
Hello everyone,
I would like to introduce you to Talkie Video Player for Mac. This video player is just like most of the other players on the market except for the feature which reads subtitles. Currently, it supports all major video and subtitle formats.
The player uses all voices that are available on macOS.
Hi everyone, I'm Victor, the developer of Tapelark. Thank you to Michael Hansen and the AppleVis team for pointing me to the right place to introduce it here. I'm posting this myself, so please take it as a developer introduction and a request for feedback.
What it does
Tapelark is a Mac app (macOS 14.4 or later, Apple silicon and Intel) that records audio into a personal library.
Hello everyone.
I'm new to this website, so please excuse me if I make some mistakes.
My name is Gary Price. I live in Bolton in Lancashire.
I've been blind since birth and have an iPhone5s and a Macbook Pro.
I'm writing this on my Windows desktop.
Hi all,
I regularly get this issue and couldn't find an answer online. Sometimes, VoiceOver will display a message saying, "1 system dialogue displayed." For a sighted person these dialogue boxes appear to be in the foreground, but when I command tab I can't find them. The only way to close them is with sighted assistance. How do I get VO to access these dialogues?
Not sure where to put this post, as it's kind of dealing with iOS, but by far way more with Big Sur, so I'm going to guess it would go here. Anyway...
I have just discovered on my new macbook air, that I can go to the mac app store from the Apple menu, and search for/find apps that say designed for iPad, but holy cow, they actually load, and work on Big Sur as well! I know this probably is the whole universal catalyst thing going on, but my previous mac was old enough it couldn't support doing this, and I've only had this mac since the 6th of this month.
Hello folks,
I am just curious as to how iOS apps are performing on the Mac with VoiceOver. I understand that while a particular app may work well with VO on the iPhone, that may not always translate over, as iOS apps are made with touch interface in mind, and may not work quite as nice with a keyboard. So, of those you have used, which have worked well? Which would you stay away from? I am looking forward to getting my MacBook Air in in a few days.
My wife needs to use IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) on her MAC. She uses the English US keyboard layout. I believe we need to use the MSK keyboard layout, but wondering with newer versions of OS 10, if there different ways to do this? Another point of discussion is how VO reads the IPA character set? Any help would be great. She is starting an upper level linguistics class this fall and is hoping to use some of the time off during the summer to get familiar with her MAC.
Is it possible to recreate a Microsof Surface type computer arrangement using a Mac Mini with an iPad Air or Pro?
I am using an iPhone 5 and added a password to it. I would like to remove the password. any suggestions as to how to remove the password? Also, I would like to increase the rate at which SIRI is speaking. I accessed the accessibilty feature and located the rate feature. I was able to increase the rate to 20% using the one finger gesture. However, I cannot increase it any further. any suggestions as to how I can further increase the rate? Regards, Phil Templet
Hello all, has anyone been able to figure out how to use the iPhone mirroring on their nac? I just got a MacBook yesterday and I cannot figure out how to use it. It seems like a lot of people have been having issues. However, Iβve only seen messages from a year ago. Let me know if any changes have been made.
I am using iPhone Mirroring on my MacBook M1 (2020), and both my iPhone and MacBook are updated to the latest versions of iOS/macOS. However, I am facing a problem: iPhone Mirroring shows that it is connected, but VoiceOver only speaks on the Home Screen and in the App Switcher. It does not speak or read anything else.
I finally got around to trying iPhone Mirroring. Sorry, what can I say, it's been a long several months.
Firstly, if you ever plan on doing this, then try it when you have some time. You'll need to enter passwords and poke holes through security, including unlocking your iPhone. Waiting until you need it is not an option.
Secondly, I was surprised to discover that I had to enable WiFi on my Mac to get this to work. apparently, a high-speed ethernet connection isn't good enough? Picture me scratching my head.
