Running the latest ventura. going to youtube, after typing a search in, it says verified, closed captioning cc and doesn't stop speaking. It just started a couple of days ago. Can anyone confirm this or even fix it? It's kinda frustrating and annoying. This happened on edge and Safari.

Hello,
I hold 2 different secretarial positions within the American Council of the Blind.
Since Word doesn't work well on the mac & that's what I'm used ot, I'm now using Ulysses to write & organize meeting minutes, along with other unrelated data.
My qQuestion for all of you tonight is this:
What's the best way to move & organize meeting minutes using Ulysses with Voiceover on the Mac?
I have the beta of Ulysses 39.5 installed on my m2 MacBook Air, which is running MacOS 26.2, Tahoe.

Hi all. Here's how i manage my mail, tell me if I'm doing it the really hard way. I have three accounts, all under a unified inbox. Now if I go down in the message table, I find drafts, send, junk, trash, archived, because it's Google. Now the junk is from both active accounts. Here's my question. When i go into the inbox, I interact with the scrool area, then in the messages table. I hear something like, enable filter or something like that. Is there any easier way, or is this it? Thanks, just looking for a better faster way to do this.

Hi everybody. Can anyone tell me the name of a free, easy to use MacOS app to use to convert 1093 pages of pdf to text? I am in a dispute with a contractor, because of which I made a public records request about the contractor to our state Construction Contractor's Board, in response to which I received 1093 pages of pdf I can't read.

I did do a search on the applevis web site but didn't find what I was looking for.

Best,

Bruce

certificates, keys, login tokens and secure notes still managed by keychain access app. just separate the plain username password pairs and put it in a new app and this makes it better?
also hide the keychain access app in "System/Library/CoreServices/Applications/" to make it harder to find, i don't get it.

Hi everybody!

If you've used any sort of duplicate file finder app to automatically find and remove your oldest duplicate files with a single keystroke (meaning you didn't have to go through a list one file at a time to figure out which ones to delete), or in other words, if the app automatically found and deleted old duplicates, keeping the newest duplicate, which app did you use, and what settings did you use?

I'm using the latest version of Mac OS. When VoiceOver encounters a YouTube page in Safari, it starts speaking through all of the Verified badges on the page and reading the titles of some of the videos all at once. Pressing control doesn't stop the speech and navigating by heading is unreliable. This is new behaviour which started earlier this week.

I can reproduce this on an older system, so it seems like the issue is with YouTube itself.

Can anyone else produce this on Safari on Mac? What about on Chrome?

Hey guys So it's got to the point where my browsers are no longer compatible with my version of JAWS for windows screen reader. Using JAWS 10 on Windows 7. Anyhow, for now, I can browse and watch vids online using my iPhone, but when I go back to education I will need a compatible and functioning screen reader. As users of Macs, I was wondering if you could answer a few questions: Can you get microsoft word/excell/powerpoint to work on your Mac?

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but whatsapp on mac seems to have been imroved with accessibility in mind. Now we can tab across the menus and can move up and down the conversation list without having to use the VO key. I've only just tried it again after a while as was finding it annoying so these changes may have been around for a while.

Today, one of my friends told me about Whatsapp for windows, I did not have windows, so i installed it on my mac, the app is not accessible at all, we can not read chats, we can compose new ones just by typing the Name, any ideas of how to improve it? or anyone tried it?

After purchasing my M4 Mac mini in 2024 to keep a finger on the pulse of macOS, I installed a number of apps, including WhatsApp.

Here’s my setup:

I’m using the base model M4 Mac mini, fully up to date with the latest version of macOS. It sits on a Satechi Stand & Hub for the extra ports and built-in SSD. I use it with a Logitech MX Keys wireless keyboard, and I don’t have a monitor connected—only a pair of Bose Companion 2 speakers for audio.

I've noticed lately that when I'm using WhatsApp, particularly when navigating a conversation, like I have someone's conversation window open and I'm navigating messages, it'll randomly open up the reactions menu for me to react to some random message. Does anyone know why this is and how to get it to stop doing that?

It used to be a very seemless experience on the mac, and nowadays, not so much.

Hi all! We would really like to know from you audio gamers about your favorite game from www.audiogame.it. The reason we ask is pretty obvious: we want to make sure that our future development goes in the right direction. Your opinion will definitely be the #1 factor for us to consider.

It’s been months since they introduced this issue with the Safari 26.0 update. It doesn’t matter if we’re using Sequoia or Tahoe, because if you update Safari to the latest version, the issue still occurs on Sequoia. So it’s a really annoying bug, and it’s frustrating to have to refresh the webpage every time it happens. I don’t know why it happens, since it only occurs occasionally. We’ve sent feedback to Apple, so what more can we do to get it fixed? I’m so tired of this s*ht.

**Issue Summary:**
When working with large datasets and utilizing the audio graph feature in macOS Numbers, VoiceOver becomes sluggish, unresponsive, and crashes frequently. This severely impacts usability and makes the feature impractical, especially for blind users who rely on VoiceOver for data interpretation in academic or professional settings.

Since I upgraded to MacOS 15.5, when VoiceOver encounters a forward slash ('/'), it announces it as "solidus." This happens regardless of voice. I've encountered this in the Mac Mail app but not elsewhere. When I copy the text in question and paste it into TextEdit, voiceOver announces it as "slash." Same behavior in the AppleVis text box.
