BrailliantConnect 1.0.0 is out — free, open source, and finished. Plug a Brailliant in and it appears in the Finder. Unplug it and it goes away. No macFUSE, no kernel extension, nothing to start by hand.

I wrote it because I needed it. I use a BI 40X with a screen reader every day, and getting a file onto it from a Mac had stopped being possible in any way I was willing to live with.

Hi all.
Was wondering if any of you have success creating and managing breakout rooms in Zoom using voiceover on a Mac. Any tips or tricks would be much appreciated

Happy New Year!
I love the game of contract bridge, but I have been unable to find a Bridge game that works with Voice Over on my Mac. I am wondering if any readers have played such a game. I am especially interested if the Bridge Baron game will work with VO. By "work" I mean announce what a card is when we point to it or tab to it. This fundamental utility seems to be absent from computer bridge games. Hoping for some positive news!

This video popped up in my feed and I thought it was so great, I had to share it.

the new Macs from Apple come with 256 GB as the base hard drive configuration in the Mac Mini and the iMac. If you don't want to pay for the cost of another Mac to upgrade your storage to something that is a bit more futureproof than 256 GB, one suggestion is to move your Home folder to an externally connected Thunderbolt drive.

Thanks for any update!

I'm considering getting a Mac mini. Is there any broadcasting software available to use on the Mac, e.g. a substitute for Station Playlist Studio, or Sam Broadcaster? If there is, how accessible is it with Voiceover?

Hello everyone!
I am reaching out once again with a few questions regarding my new MacBook, mainly focused on web browsers. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
First, I read on another forum that third-party browsers are poorly optimized for VoiceOver compared to Safari. Is this true? I am used to using Brave Browser on Windows, but so far Safari seems like a solid option. In what way or aspect are they poorly optimised?

Hi, guys!
I was just wondering, but is Safari the only browser that is accessible with VoiceOver? I've tinkered with Chrome, but I find it's not as easy to use as Safari, and Firefox is even worse.
Thanks!

Hi all. Is it possible to brose for text tones, ring tones and buy them from your Mac? I know you can get the Tones category, but I can't seem to find the right page on the store itself. any help would be great.

Hi everyone,
BTSync 2.0 just came out, and I think is reasonably accessible. However, in 1.4 you can skip creating a username and password and bypass creating a Sync account, but now it appears you cannot.
The issue here is that VoiceOver does not focus in the edit fields correctly, and the action that I'd think to take, which is pointing the mouse at and clicking, does not seem to work.
Any suggestions? After that I don't think I'll have any problems.

I found what appears to be a new bug in Safari 7.1 and VoiceOver, running under the latest version of Mavericks.

When I press Command-Left Bracket to go back one page, one of two things will happen. Either I end up with an empty scroll area, or VoiceOver will continue to announce elements from the webpage I just left. The correct page is displayed on screen, but VoiceOver is not aware of it. I have to press Command-R to reload the page before VoiceOver operates correctly.

Has anyone else noticed this annoying behavior?

Hi all,

I have just purchased a new MacBook Pro 14" with M5Pro chip. I did the set-up, and all seemed to go fine.

However, when I started to use Safari, I noticed a bug which I would describe as having the highest severity. I have noticed this on multiple sites, including AppleVis. Details are:

Post Date:

1. Turn on VoiceOver.
2. Open Safari on any website of more than a couple pages and scroll down to the bottom so that you're viewing a part of the web page that does not contain VoiceOver focus.
3. Use the shortcut to toggle Invert Colors (such as VO+Tab, VO+Command+8).

After the colors invert, Safari scrolls to the top of the web page. More accurately, it scrolls to the part of the page containing VoiceOver focus.

I'm encountering a strange bug as of Sonoma. If I'm reading or writing a document in text edit, voiceover will randomly stop allowing me to read the text with the arrow keys. The issue occurs only if I've typed in a few lines, and the only way to get Voiceover to read the document is to turn it off and on again. The issue doesn't typically occcur if I opened and atempt to read a document without typing anything, though it has on a couple of occasions. Other text fields, and text editing applications, work absolutely fine. Anyone having the same issue?

Hello,
Is anyone using OmegaT? It is a CAT tool for translators which, to me, seems mostly accessible, but I have some problems, which also occur in other apps:
1. When creating a project, there are some dialog boxes with popup groups. Because there are many items in a popup group, I think, when navigating through it, the focus returns to the first option in the field and I cannot choose another option. I need to stop interracting with the popup group and then return to it in order to select another option.
