Best Resources for learning Numbers?

Hi all:

Yesterday, my girlfriend expressed a desire to learn Numbers. I'd love to teach her, however I've not had a need to really learn this app myself.

Are there tutorials out there for learning numbers? If they touch on Voiceover things specifically that might be nice, but comprehensive numbers knowledge is more important at this point. We can tackle any Voiceover oddities as they come up.

Best text editor for VoiceOver?

I am relatively new to programming on the Mac. I am currently looking for an appropriate text editor.

I have been using TextMate however, i am looking for something with more regular updates and a mmore advanced basic tool set. Ideally i would of liked to use BBEdit however, on the latest version any text i input is not read aloud by VoiceOVer.

So does anyone have recommendations for a good text editor that sees regular updates? That works well with VoiceOver.

Best VoiceOver Friendly Raspberry Pi Software

Hello Apple Vis,
I recently got a Raspberry pi, and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on Software to help move the projects over to the Pi, like Development environment. I tried Eclipse, but once you go out to run your code and check for errors. You can't get back in with out sighted assistance. The other software I know i'd need is software for writing images onto SD cards.
If any has any suggestions. Definitely let me know.

Best Way to Browse Google Groups

Hey all, For the life of me I can't figure this out. I finally came across the Google Group Macvisionaries which is all about voiceiver and the mac. The group is fairly inaccessible using safari and VO to browse, sometimes I get lucky and using the auto webspots heading will take me to the content, other times auto web spots will not find the message in the group. Using Headers, links, etc doesn't take you to the content. I have become a member of the group, and now receive the content via email but in the digest form which takes forever to navigate as there is so much content.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to copy CD to a blank CD on the mac? I tried doing the disk Utility, but I am a little confused.

Best way to get to the top of mail messages using voiceover on Mac

Hello. What is the easiest way to get to the top of a row of messages using voiceover. When I am in a document usually pressing command and up arrow takes me there. This does not seem to work in the native mail app on MacOS.

Best way to open and run Pearl scripts on Mac, running Big sur?

Hi,
I'm in the process of trying to get my passwords out of icloud keychain and into 1password.
Someone created a converter suite to do this, but several people, including me, were having issues with it, so he creaated a Pearl script, which does the same thing.
I found the script, and am attempting to run it.
It opened in xcode by default, but I couldn't figure out how to run it, so told it to open in ScriptEditor, but that won't work either.

Can anyone advise me how best to accomplish this?

best way to play old games on mac with wine or windows

since I'm thinking about getting a mac mini, in the hardware forum someone told me to get windows11 arm version if I want to play Jim Kitchen's games and other audio games. Can windows11 arm version run on a mac somehow? Is it better to use wine, or run windows11 in a vm? What would give the best support to play old games and run some older x86 software on a mac, this includes decTalk and bestSpeech tts speak window apps so I can continue to use those old tts engines. a quick google search told me that standard windows apps do run on windows11 arm version.

Best way to use Windows on a Mac

Hello everyone,
What is the best way to have windows on a Mac? I am curious because I am wanting to do web accessibility testing and I want to be able to test multiple platforms on one machine. I am thinking using windows with VM Fusion would be the way to go so I can quickly switch between testing with JAWS or NVDA on windows and back to voiceover on the Mac. What are peoples thoughts on this?

Best word processor for the Mac?

I'm wondering which is the best word processor for the mac in terms of accessibility? I often do a lot of sharing of documents between mac and Windows, and Pages keeps giving me missing font errors and similar, as well as that it cannot save in the docx format. Additionally, with Pages I sometimes run into an issue where even though I'm in the document area, I cannot type and just get the ding noise. If I'm just missing a setting in pages, or if there is a better program I can use, please let me know.

I picked Downcast because I was using it on iOS. I haven't done a lot with it yet, but now that I'm trying to, it's pretty garbage.

1. It seems to be set to local episodes by default, and I don't see a way to change it to all episodes in feed.

Greetings. Text replacement is a simple, easy way to program strings of letters to automatically expand out to words and phrases, such of turning btw into by the way, or o m g into Oh my God, when typing on your IOS or MacOS device.

I have an enormous text replacement data base. Over the course of many sleepless nights I programmed over 10,000 words and phrases, each with its own shortcut.

Can anyone please recommend accessible Bible software, which will work on a Macbook? I have used Bible websites before, but would prefer an app, that will let me access scriptures, in a number of Bible versions and provide me the facility to copy some of the text out to other apps. Bibliographies and Works Cited Pages in Pages?

Hey guys, I'm a college student, and I am taking a class that requires writing a lot of essays that require a works cited page. The professor wants the works cited to be formatted a certain way, but I can't figure out how to do this in Pages. In word, this option is apparently easy to find, but with Pages, the process seems more difficult. I talked with the professor about this, and we spent a lot of time digging through all the menus, trying to find the setting that would format the works cited correctly.

Big sur and recovery mode problem

Hi all,

If I start the disk utility program when in recovery mode I lose speech. However, if I quit the program voiceover is working again. Has anyone else noticed this problem? Many thanks
