I am wondering if there is a way to set up the lists so that the un read e-mails are listed first, but they are listed from oldest new unread e-mail to newest unread r-mail?
I am on several of the NFB list serves and I get the e-mails as individual e-mails. I found that was easier to navigate than the digest format for me. However I am now having trouble reading the e-mails. As they put the ones that came in most recently first and that is confusing when trying to read other peoples responses before even reading the original e-mail.
This is one of those times when you are 99% sure of the answer before you ask the question. But, just to double-check that 1% ā¦
Is it possible to force VoiceOver to announce the characters when you are entering a password in a secure text field?
Iām using my Mac in a location where doing this would have no security or privacy issues, it would just help to reduce the times when my dodgy typing skills result in the wrong password being submitted.

So I've heard that many people love the Alex voice. I downloaded it on my mac and in the voice settings I see lots of esoteric settings I've seen nowhere before. All in all I have the feeling that there is a reason as to why this voice is loved. I haven't really found proper documentation for it, so for those who know could you please explain what each slider do and how they interact with each other?

I noticed that I somehow turned on trackpad commander and wanted to use it similiarly to the way that router is used on the iphone, but then when I accidentally touched the trackad with my wrist while typing on my macbook pro it started acting really odd. Is there a way to only use the rotor and have the rest of the trackpad react normally in case I needed to show something to a sighted person they could then use the trackpad and to move the mouse?
I am having trouble accessing some special characters, such as the French Franc, on my iMac. A lot of special characters use the option and one other key. I've found information that says to use the option and four other keys but this doesn't work. The character pallet is not obvious as to how to use it.

To add a new contact, I press Command+N, then VoiceOver focus jumps to the First name field. Soon thereafter, focus jumps to the search field, and the new contact I was creating vanishes.

It lets me enter it on the login screen, but, whenever I try updating it, and entering the password, it won't take it.
Hi all, I have 2 macs that I use alongside pupils learning voicover. One allows me to type on Word, the other opens goes on to page, but whatever key I press, it isn't editing on the document. Could it be something to do with automatic saving on to a one drive? I'm really confused
Attempting to attach photos to an email message, along with every single other use of the photos app on Mac (with IOS not far behind it), has been one of the most frustrating experiences in 40 years of computing. I need to hear from someone who's figured out the monkey puzzle of key combinations that will let me get to the most recent images, and check the full timestamp before I attach them to a text or email.
I am having numerous difficulties formatting in Marse edit. Voice over doesn't speak when toggles are on or off. It is impossible to add heading levels. In short it has become useless for formatting. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks

I just did a clean install of Sequoia on my mac.
When I open safari, it comes up in a tool bar, when I press tab, I go to things like tab overview, then items like the search bar, then some collections like favourites etc. However, I can't seem to navigate into the main body of the web page. If I do a search by pressing command plus l, I can then tab into the web page, but this strange behavior seems to happen when I launch safari. In older os versions, you would be in the main body of the web page when safari launches. I want to bring back this behavior.
I have a new Mac Mini. It was running with Voiceover just fine earlier this morning. I was doing something else, and I think it went to sleep. I pressed the power button a couple of times, but I can't get Voiceover to respond to any key presses. When I press Command Key+F5 to toggle Voiceover on and off, I get a "klunk", but no voice.
Does any one have a suggestion as to how I can get it speaking again? Thanks.
I am fed up with this apps in the bottom row not moving bug. I am going through my iOS devices deleting apps that do not work with VO and ones that I do not need and trying to replace apps that do not work with VO with apps that do work with VO. I am also deleting some apps if I have more then 1 app that does the same thing. I have about 300 apps and want to try to get it down to 100. I am also trying to organize apps into folders as I go. This bug is getting in the way. Is there an accessible way to move icons around on the home screen from within iTunes on Mac or windows? I have both.
I'm trying to drag and drop, but when I press VO+Shift+F5 it is selecting the menu as if I was using VO+M. If I start keyboard help, then VO+Shift+F5 it tells me it will move the mouse pointer to the VO cursor.
It seems like VO gets stuck in the navigation elements of a page, and when I either use quicknav or VO-command-h, VO says "no action available". Anyone else had this happen?
