Mac

Hi all,
I just got an iPhone five. I have a ringtone in iTunes that I can't get onto my phone. I'm using a Mac. I thought there should have been a section to choose what your wanted to sync to your phone under devices, but I don't seem to be able to find it in the new iTunes that was released not to long ago. I would appreciate any help with this.
Thanks in advance,
Holly

Hi,

I have been facing an issue for a long time, and I've had to try different solutions to it, and now I'm reaching a point of frustration at having to go through all of these steps.

I read a LOT of books, and when I'm facing an issue at work or in life, I go back to those books often to refresh my memory. I have tons of books on management that I use for work, and general "life skills" such as Crucial Conversations, Personality Types and so on – stuff that I sometimes literally need to refresh myself and act on in minutes.

So I'm in Voice Memos. I select a recording. I hit cmd-VO-space to get to actions, and one of those actions is "edit title". So I pick that. Now what?

There's a text field that talks about searches and titles and such, but if I type in that, it just tries to search, and naturally doesn't find anything.

So how do I rename a recording?

Hi all,
Is there a way, using VoiceOver, to reorder your bookmarks in Safari on the Mac?
I can find the Edit Bookmarks option in the menu bar and navigate to the table, but I can't find any option for moving them around.
Cheers,
Dave

High, how do you submit Mac apps to the directory on a Mac? I have some apps I would like to submit but don't know how. How do you submit these apps? Thanks.

Hi all,

I've searched in screen time, and I've searched in help, and I still can't find a way to turn off screen time in Big Sur. Can anyone tell me?

Smile. Thank you!

Hi all!

New: I found a list of keyboard shortcut commands to use google groups with VoiceOver in Safari. See,

The Mac I use most is an iMac, I have a keyboard and a magic trackpad. The batteries in the trackpad have been flat for years. I've been using a computer for nigh-on thirty years and using a keyboard is about as natural to me as breathing. so I guess it's not a surprise that I don't use a trackpad. however, I also don't bother using the QuickNav arrow key commands. Don't get me wrong, I love using iOs and all the gestures it offers. In many ways, my favourite way to use Safari is on my iPhone.

How do you use Twitter in OS X?
IΚ»ve set my OS X System Preferences / Internet Accounts to have my current account.
When I use Twitter in Safari, I get "VIEW [thousands] of new tweets", and it dynamically updates. Terrible to use.
ItΚ»s annoying because sometimes I want to have music play from the Mac, and not have VoiceOver talk over it (I know, I need to get a BT headset to hear VO just "in my head").
Or is there a better way? Some other app?

I've not seen this come up so sorry if this is talked about a lot, but how do you use your Mac at work? What apps do you use, and what VoiceOver features are most helpful for you, like the window spots and such?

I use Google Docs and Salesforce a lot in my job, and have an M1 Mac at work, so I'm hoping I can really solidify my Mac skills with it. I heard MacOS 26 would improve VoiceOver support with Google Docs, but there still seems to be some issues.

Hello
I’m interested in making text to speech voices videos on the Mac
Preferably on my M1 MacBook Air 16 GB for 512 GB SSD since that will be able to handle the GTS project better.
I understand I may not be able to do like what other TTS makers do you like Microsoft Sam, call Mum Near speech or even a cappella, but it least want the macOS vocaliser eloquent Eastwick voices in my TTS radio.
So I have some questions.

how doo I down load a Mac app from the Mac app store

So the question is self-explainatory. I'd probably have to wait for awhile for someone to actually use pages over google docs with me but I am just curious, can someone explain me further how this https://support.apple.com/en-ca/guide/pages/tane8864d0b4/mac actually works in real world usage? I really think an applevis podcast or guide about that (assuming it hasn't been already done) would be very helpful.

Hello all.
I am a student taking linear algebra this semester, and on my course it is required to use matlab.
Does anyone have any idea how accessible it is with VO?

Thanks.

Hey all.

So I've set up a Windows VM and I'm using scripts to remap caps lock, recommended from another thread on here. So I want to set up keyboard shortcuts to run them. Ideally they'd work with or without VO running. They're just in the app directory, so now I'm hanging out in there and running RemapCapsLockToInsert.app and ResetCapsLock.app when I need access to the VM or need to pop back out to Mac OS to do something.

hi all, i know this is not a bootcamp forum, smile, but was just wondering with a 128 gb ssd macbook air and 4 gb ram how much room if people are running windows 10 64-bit is it comfortable to alocate? would around 80 gb be acceptable if i install the minimal amount of mac osx that i need?

So, I’m planning on installing an older version of macOS on my MacBook Air 2017, high-five with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB storage,
However to install an older version of macOS that won’t install through other macOS recovery order system preferences application, but is recovery but it is compatible with your Mac. You may need to use the USB hard drive.
I have a 2 TB USB flash drive that connects for the USB a port.

Hello,
there is an app which I would like to get from the Appstore to see if it isaccessible. However I am not sure about the refunding process. Can the application's inaccessibility be a basis for returning it? If so, where should I ask for a refund just in case?

This is partially my curiosity about how Voiceover works and what it utilizes the most. I'm also toying around with the idea of getting a new Macbook and looking at the different configurations and options. This made me wonder how intensive on ram and the CPU is Voiceover in general? For general usage such as web browsing, word processing, maybe a few other things, does eight gigs suffice for everybody? I know that on my windows machine 8 gigs doesn't really cut it since chrome alone eats up a lot of ram. Or is Voiceover more demanding on the CPU?

Hello,
How can I get the WINDOWS partition of Boot Camp to correctly announce the battery percentage? The batter percentage is way off, and the battery meter never says charged after the battery is charged.
