The “Adjust Value” VoiceOver rotor menu item does not work on the Lock Screen audio scrubber. Specifically, when the Now Playing widget is on the Lock Screen, VoiceOver will indicate that you can swipe up or down with 1-finger on the position scrubber to adjust the position. However, this does nothing. You can perform a 1-finger tap and hold, followed by a ‘drag’ to the left or right to move position, but this does not allow for accurate or small changes to the position.

To reproduce this behaviour you will need to have several notifications on the Notifications Center - enough that there will be a “Clear All” button available on the heading just above older notifications.

When on the Lock Screen or Cover Sheet (formerly the Notifications Centre), flicking up or down with 1 finger on the “page x of 3” control no longer moves you between pages. The control itself will change (for example, from “page 2 of 3” to “page 1 of 3”, etc.), but the page itself does not change.

There are no braille display commands, and no options for assigning these commands with a braille display: Quick Settings, moving in and out of grouped navigation, or locking the screen

If not using VoiceOver, it is possible to dismiss an activity from the Dynamic island by swiping left or right across the Dynamic Island. This does not close any related background activity. For example, if you are playing audio and you dismiss the audio waveform and artwork in the Dynamic Island, the music will continue to play in the background. The same goes for when you dismiss a timer – it will still count down in the background even though it is no longer visible on the screen.

When using the Group message facility, the button to add a title to the conversation is not detected by VoiceOver.

With a braille display, pressing space with Q is supposed to turn Quick Nav on and off. however, it always reports that Quick Nav is turned off when pressing this command. Also, pressing the letter that corresponds with the navigation command does nothing. This was first found in iOS 8.0, when the feature was introduced.

The VoiceOver keyboard shortcut to move focus to the Status Bar does not work when on the Home screen. It works when in an app, but you are unable to then use the keyboard to move focus through all items on the Status Bar.

It is not possible to edit existing alarms in the native Clock app when VoiceOver is enabled.

iOS 18 added the ability to place app icons in any grid position on the home screen, rather than a fixed order starting from the top left.
While you can drag icons into any position with VoiceOver using the method of dragging your finger around the screen, the method using the Drag and Drop actions in the rotor does not allow you to choose any grid position.

When editing the list of your favorites in the native Phone app, it is not possible to rearrange their order. Previously you could do this by using the ‘hold, drag and drop’ method after being alerted by VoiceOver that this was available. This is no longer the case, although it remains possible to rearrange favorites if you are not using VoiceOver.

When using 3D Touch in the native Music App to open a ‘peek’ menu, it is possible in some situations that swiping left will move VoiceOver focus to the Status Bar rather than ending with the first item in the ‘peek’ menu.

On the Emergency SOS settings screen (Settings > Emergency SOS), there is an unlabeled element immediately after the "Emergency SOS" heading. This is a graphic showing the location of the Power button, but it is not spoken at all by VoiceOver.

Photos got a major redesign in iOS 18.
The buttons, which are also headings, at the top of each section of hte app's main screen have odd labels, including the word "Forward".
If you move into these sections, you will often encounter buttons which are unlabelled.

When in a Group Message, at the top right hand corner is the "Details" button. Flick once to the right and you will land on an Unlabeled button. This button seems to do the same thing as the "Details" button.

When using the Alex voice, there are longer pauses following punctuation than there were in iOS 12 or earlier.

When swiping through a list of articles from one of your favourites in the native News app, VoiceOver will in some instances provide feedback which suggests that you are actually on the Main screen of the Favourites tab. When VoiceOver does announce these elements, they will not behave as expected when double-tapped.

If you enable both VoiceOver and Full Keyboard Access, you may find that VoiceOver focus will be inconsistent and unreliable in some situations. Typically this may result in you not being able to move VoiceOver focus by flicking or focus spontaneously jumping between UI elements.

When using the VoiceOver Actions Menu to delete a conversation from the Messages app, it is not completely removed from the list of message threads. In it's place will be left a "broken" item in the list which VoiceOver announces as "null." Whilst in this state, the message list will not update to display or give access to any new message threads; to resolve this, you will need to close the Messages app via the App Switcher.

  1. Ensure that you have several days of browsing history in Safari (ideally several weeks).
  2. Ensure that VoiceOver is enabled.
  3. Open Safari.
  4. Double tap with 1 finger on the “Bookmarks” button.
  5. Double tap with 1 finger on the “History” button.

You will now be on a page that lists your browsing history. The list is sorted by date, with each day having a Header at the beginning which contains the day of the week and the date.
