After navigating to the Misspelled Words rotor option, you can easily jump to the previous and next misspelled word. However, if you press space with dot 4 to see the first replacement, though you get speech output, the replacement does not show up in braille. The highlighted word in question is the only thing shown.
iOS/iPadOS
When watching a show in the TV app, you can double tap on the screen to bring up player controls.
However, there is no option to dismiss the player controls again, in order to make the full picture visible.
When viewing a data chart in the native Weather app ā for instance the wind or temperature charts for the day ā the āChart Detailsā VoiceOver rotor menu item does not work. Note the āDescribe chartā and āPlay audio graphā menu items work as expected.
When viewing a list of articles in the native News app, there are situations in which VoiceOver does not correctly report those articles which have already been read.
Specifically, if you read an article and then return back to the list, VoiceOver will report that it is āUnreadā when you place focus on it in the list.
For articles on the āFor Youā tab, you typically need to close the app via the App Switcher before VoiceOver will no longer report read articles as unread.
When viewing a message in the Mail app, the Back button will include a badge if the folder the message is in contains unread messages. This badge indicates the number of unread messages in the folder. This is not spoken by VoiceOver.
When viewing an interactive notification from the Mail app, the context menu items āDeleteā and āMark Readā may on occasions not function when located by swiping.
Specifically, if you use the swipe gesture to move VoiceOver focus through the notification until it lands on a contextual menu item such as Delete, nothing happens when you then double tap with 1-finger.
Our assumption is that the screen is not scrolling correctly to reflect the movement of focus, meaning that the menu items are not visually present on screen when you attempt to use them.
Whenever a VoiceOver announcement arrives on a braille display, it will appear on the display in uncontracted braille; even if contracted braille is enabled.
When typing on the on screen keyboard, you can choose to hear a clicking sound as you type each letter.
As a VoiceOver user, these sounds are intermittently disappearing. You may hear them for the first few letters or words of a message for example, and then find they stop.
The title says it all. While VoiceOver speaks the possibly detected text, there is no braille representation of this information. In certain apps, where this information can greatly improve access for speech users of VoiceOver, it leaves the braille only user without that additional access.
In Control Centre, you can choose to add individual controls, such s devices or scenes, from the Home app.
These can be set to 1x1, 2x1 or 2x2 grid sizes. If you set them to 1x1, they lose their VoiceOver label, and just say "Button".
Please note. This problem is not present even under iOS 16.0 unless running a firmware version older than 2.1 of the braille display. In cases like the Humanware NLS E-Reader where there is currently no version 2.1, this problem still persists as outlined below.
The subject says it all. Pressing space with s doesn't do anything. Confirmed with 3 braille 16 Pro users, but I'm not sure if it is the entire line-up of 16's or not.
When configuring the "Per Voice" settings for certain VoiceOver voices like Fred and Ralph, the values for the WPM Minimum and WPM Maximum settings are not spoken correctly. Instead of announcing the numeric value, VoiceOver announces "WPM_format."
When one activates the āCallā button when placing a phone call, VoiceOver will often say, āIncoming Callā¦ā before speech stops.
In certain circumstances VoiceOver will not read the network carrier shown in the Status Bar when focus is placed on it. Instead it will announce: "Swipe down with three fingers to reveal the notification center., Swipe up with three fingers to reveal the control center, Double-tap to scroll to top Status bar item". This behaviour can be seen when using some native apps and a range of 3rd party apps.
You can no longer use the "React" option from the VoiceOver Actions Menu on notifications of new messages. If you use the "More" action to interact with a notification; the resulting page shows the message and a reply field. The Actions Menu can be accessed on the body of the incoming message and includes "React," but double-tapping on this does nothing.
When you have both VoiceOver and Zoom enabled, you cannot enter "Edit" mode on the Home screenāmeaning that you cannot delete or organize apps/folders.
When composing an email in the native Mail app, the VoiceOver rotor's Action menu includes the āline navigationā item when VoiceOver focus is in the message body field. However, it does nothing when you attempt to use it.
When in the Apple podcasts app, with VO focus in the listen now tab, if you swipe up on any episode, and attempt to double-tap the, āmore info āoption, nothing will happen, and voiceover will make the sound like nothing is present on the screen.
The āMoreā menu item is no longer available from the VoiceOver rotor for notifications on the Lock screen or in the Notification Center. Note that the same functionality can be accessed by performing a long press on the notification. It's also worth noting that the āMoreā option is still available on notifications when they appear as banners on the Home screen.
