Mac

Hi, I'm looking for an app to help organise my iTunes collection. By organising, I mean help correctly tag songs. So many of my songs have no title or artist or album etc, and I'd like to change this. I have bought an app called Song Genie which is meant to do this.

Hi I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to copy my itunes library from my windows computer to my mac computer. I also wanted to know how to place the cursor at the beginning or end of a text field. The command calls for the home and end keys but I do not have those keys so what do I do instead?

Good evening. I have a MacBook pro. ITunes worked great until I updated to the latest software version. I am now not able to see the list of all my songs and albums. I am also not able to play the music. is there anything I can do?

Hi,

I have several playlists such as sixties/seventies/eighties etc. Can anyone advise me how to make a smart playlist that tells Itunes to exclude any song that it has played from any of these playlists in the past fortnight/month etc so I don't get so many track repeats?

Many thanks in advance for any advice given.

Best

Graham

Hi, I am getting a mac again and so am a bit out of touch with iWork etc. What do people think are the best apps to use? From what I remember Pages and numbers were ok but this was a while a go so... If you have alternatives to say Keynote or Pages etc that you can share I would be most happy. I am doing a business course so Pages and Numbers or similar will be the most important for me.

Apple has updated its iWork product line for Mac, iOs, and iCloud. I don't use iWork for iOs, so I don't know the changes specific to that version, but I did check out the Mac and iCloud updates. On the Mac and iOs, the updates for the three apps can be downloaded from their respective App Stores. If you have an iCloud account, the updates will take effect automatically. When iWork for iCloud first debuted, I posted a form topic about its lack of Voiceover support and the wider accessibility challenge faced by Voiceover users in an increasingly cloud oriented environment.

Hello everyone!
I’d like to report a bug related to the system speech synthesizer on macOS. I can’t make it speak any faster, no matter what I try. For example, when I enable “announce the time” on my Mac, there’s no way to increase the speech rate. The same goes for watching a video with subtitles — I can’t make the speech playback any faster there either.
Now I’m wondering: does this issue fall under Accessibility, and should anything related to speech synthesis be reported to the Accessibility Team? Or is there another place where I should submit such feedback?

As the title suggests, I have never created or edited a podcast. I'd like to though, but don't really know where to start.

What I'm looking for is a minimum equipment list - hardware and software to buy and learn to use.

I know this is a big question, but anything will be great, honestly.

Hi all, I'm wondering if any of the members have used their Mac for java programming? and if so what IDE do they use/find accessible with VoiceOver. I find the reason I continually return to my Windows machine is to use eclipse for any extensive java programming as the IDE is extremely accessible with JAWS. While I find the terminal perfectly acceptable for writing and compiling small apps, VoiceOver's lack of accessibility with eclipse is something I find fustrating. Do any members use alternative IDE's for java dev? and if so, which do they find most accessible? Thanks. D

Has anyone found a way to use the Java updater with VoiceOver? It seems to be totally invisible to VO. I tried VOCR and it said "Failed to access Java Updater, Unknown Window".

It's really annoying. I keep shutting down my Mac, then next day I open it up and find it couldn't shut down because Java Updater prevented it and I have to force quit it. At which point my Mac shuts down and I need to turn it on again.

Hello fokes,
I was away for a summer vacation, and now I'm back active again on the AppleVis website.
So, I am looking for a way to add JAWS keyboard shortcut command keys on the Mac to easily navigate through headings, links, tables, webforms and other elements using VoiceOver. I prefer this way to navigate rather than using the trackpad commander and quick nav on the keyboard.
Is there a way to do that?

What happened to this project? I no longer see the post unless I'm missing it. This is completely possible.

I'm a mature student in the UK, due to go back to university in September. I'm wondering whether now is the time to move from Windows to Mac. All the advice I've had so far is to stick with JAWS. Is anyone able to advise how long it would take me to be up and running with macOS? And would this be a good option? Never had a Mac before, but do own an iPhone.

Hi,

Does anyone know of a free or cheap app that will let me join several MP3 or M4A audio files together as one file? I know there's Fission and Amadeus Pro, but I was hoping for something preferably free as I already have other apps to do the other audio editing I need, I just need something to join files together.

Cheers for any suggestions.

My dad bought a new macbook a couple of months ago. The operating system is macos sonoma 14.2. Now he have a problem in the save as dialog when he tries to download something with the safari app. When he is searching for the right folder in the culumn browser, he was used to type the fisrt letter of the folder to jump to the right folder. But with the new version of macos the focus jumps to te folder but voiceover doesn't follow. In the finder app we don't have this problem its only in the save as dialog.

Ever since Safari v14 came out, I've found it impossible to reliably jump to the first element on a web page. Both VO+Home and Command+Up Arrow usually fail. I've also tried Option+Up Arrow, which goes to the first item in Finder, but that seems to behave the same as Command+Up Arrow while in Safari.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

Are here anybody who has used Jupyter notebooks?

I'm a blind data science student and in our studies we have to use Jupyter on excercises etc. I tried it today first time and it is very hard.

Jupyter has API and some other tools to use it, so I think are there maybe some other way to work with Jupyter notebooks than the web-based app..?

Hey guys, I got a mac a few months ago and am loving it. However, there's a few things that I don't get and I can't figure out:
1. In mail, I have my account set up properly. I have the review pain off and all that, the problem now is that all my mail is being grouped by the sender. I would like to change it so I can just see the next message that has been sent to me instead of having to go through all my emails from a particular person first.
