Hi all, I have only just recently started using the Mac and am now beginning to become familiar with the VO commands. I have a question that I couldn't seem to find the answer to on any of the various voice over helps. How do you use list boxes? I was trying to create a blog and in order to enter my birthday I had to use a list box. I tried interacting wit hit and selecting it with VO space and VO enter. Any suggestions? Thanks, Emsters18

I have looked at the Getting Started sectin on this site for getting comfortable with my Mac and I still am hazey. For instance, I can't get Chrome installed on my Mac because I can't figure out how to install a DMG. I can bang my way through things like Safari but am still searching for the elusive Mac/VoiceOver guide. Happy for any resources folks can provide.
Hi all,
I love my mac, but I find a much slower to browse the web with it verses windows because it's too verbose and I don't think I have the best settings applied in voiceover for optimum use. If you have settings you love, let me know and maybe you could share your settings files with me, or share via text how you have it set up. For example, when reading facebook, I just want the info, not the "end of comment region and so forth. Any ideas to make using my mac a faster and more streamlined experience would be greatly appreciated.
Subject says it all. I can't read my news feed. focus keeps jumping to the top of the page. Running an m2 chip and latest public version of mac OS. ANyone have any suggestions to fix this problem?

Hi all.
I'm using the Mini with an iClever keyboard, and I'm missing what I assume are default keyboard shortcuts, e.g. f4 for launchpad, cmd-; (semicolon) to move to next misspelling, and so on. A couple of questions.
1. If I get an Apple keyboard, considering it for other reasons not just this, will they show up? I don't see why they're not showing up here, since the keyboard reconfigures itself for whatever it's paired to, and the Mini seems to like it just fine.
Hi,
On my Mac, I can hold down SHIFT while pressing DownArrow to move more than one message. I was wondering if the Mac has a key stroke to skip items I want to move. On PC, I can hold the CONTROL key and tap the SPACEBAR to select items to move in, for example, File Explorer. I was guessing that perhaps Mac has the same ability by using the Command key. I can't tell which items are selected in Mail, though, because my Mac reads the message window and does not say the word selected to tell me that rows in the Messages table are selected.
I have found an issue with the Mac Mail app where it will find an image (usually in a person's email signature) and will not read anything below that image, which is usually the attachment I'm looking for. I've tested it multiple times and I've had a sighted person check that the attachment is there, just that voiceover won't realize it's there and take me to it. I hope this makes sense and that it's something obvious that I'm doing or not doing that is causing this issue. if anyone could help I would be very grateful.
Kind Regards
Hello all,
I just completed a reinstall on my Mac running Catalina. For the life of me I cannot figure out one thing in the mac mail app. I cannot figure out how to see my individual folders under my mail account. I have rules set up with my account on my mail providers site to have messages go into folders. How do I get the mail app to let me see those folders? Right now I see the main inbox for the account but not the individual folders under that account.
Thanks,
Greg Wocher
Hello all,
When I am in the mail app every time a new message comes in Voiceover interrupts whatever I am doing to read part of the new message. Is there anyway to stop this? It drives me absolutely bonkers when I am trying to arrow up and down thru my emails and Voiceover starts reading something else.
Regards,
Greg Wocher
When attaching files to a message in the Mac mail app, I can't find any way to see what files have been successfully attached. In the body of the message, I only hear "group" where the files are likely embedded and can't interact with it. Is this a Mac OS 12 issue, something that's been around awhile, or just me?
Hi All,
I am looking for a fix to a problem that I am having with the native Mail App on my MacBook Pro, running OSX 10.11.1.
Since upgrading to El Capitan, the Mail App won't save or remember the outgoing SMTP Settings. Every time I restart Mail, I need to go into preferences and re setup the outgoing Mail server information before any mail can be sent.
I've no idea why this is happening.
Is anyone else seeing the Mac Mail app incorrectly removing all emails from the inbox of a GMail accounts?
I recently upgraded to MacOS 10.15.7. I don't know if this upgrade came with a new version of the Mail app, but my Mail app version is 13.4 (3608.120.23.2.4).
Before stepping away from my MacBook this morning, I put it to sleep. I came back about five minutes later, and when I woke it, I discovered it had crashed and rebooted. (This happens occasionally, and I find that clearing the NVRAM helps, so perhaps it's due for that again.)
Hi All,
On the whole I love the Mail app on Mac, but something has been bugging me. When I have the app open, it is constantly making the ding sound, which is normally to alert you of new mails arriving, but when I check it, there is no new mail there.
Does anyone know why it is making this sound when there is not a new email, and how I can stop it, and only hear the sound for actual new mails arriving?
Many thanks,
Dave
Hi all. When I'm in ny folder of my mail, I Voice Over right, to hear Scroll area. Once interacter,I navigate to the messages table. Then I hear something about toggle menu button toggle filter button, and it still says messages table, even when it's empty. Is there any way to fix this behavior? I know when messages aren't there, so why wouldn't it say the table is empty like before?
Hello, I habe great problems with decrypting mails that are sent by my employer, who uses a gateway mail certificate. The public key of the gateway certificate is installed on my Mac computer (current verson of Catalina). Moreover, I added a key proberty that contains an adress of a colllege, Iยดd like to transfer encrypted mails with.
There is no problem to send an encrypted mail from my private address to my college - signing and encryption work fine.
Hello, on my macbook pro with latest Catalina I cannot check incoming mails for valid certificates and digital signing. As I learnt, there are Symbols for sign and encryption for seeing users. I did not find these Informations with VoiceOver - so I cannot check whaether the certificate is valid or not. Does anyone have a hint for me?
Sincerely
Guenther
