I am a senior accessibility tester for Temple University. I'm trying to figure out how accessible the Sketch Mac OS app is for VoiceOver. Does anyone have any experience with this app? I have taken a look at the app with VoiceOver, and a good bit of the interface seems to be accessible, but I know nothing about this kind of app, so I was hoping to hear from someone with real-world experience with Sketch. Their are a number of unlabeled buttons in the app's interface.

Hello applevis,

I've heard so many times how numpad changes the way we perceive Voiceover that I decided to get one.

You could recommend me two formats:

Hello, everoyone:

I am seeking an off-line copy β€” in Word, RTF or PDF format β€” of "Mastering the Macintosh with VoiceOver" by Tim Sniffen. I would like to read it on my Braille Sense notetaker. I would very much appreciate receiving a copy of this invaluable book in any of the above file formats.

Daveed Mandell

Hello! I'm looking for recommendations for a good Markdown editor for macOS that supports mathematical formulas and live preview of the rendered Markdown file. I need such a tool for university work. I believe that Markdown, combined with conversion tools like Pandoc, Quarto, LaTeX, or similar, can effectively handle most student tasks related to text formatting: creating headings, indents, links, footnotes, captioned images, quotes, bibliographies, and mathematical formulas. If this assumption is incorrect, I'd appreciate your input.

Hello everyone,

I’ve been working on a new feature for my card-matching game, Ploppy Pairs, for this year’s Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD). For the GAAD week, I’ve added a feature where all card images are hidden by default to encourage players to try VoiceOver and raise awareness about accessibility.

Hey all.

So I'm on the hunt for a dependable text editor like ulysses, but that has rock solid sync. Recently I've experienced ulysses failing to sync, losing sections of work and generally not filling me with much confidence that my 100 K novel won't be swallowed into the digital ether or, corrections and edits I have made won't revert back to my original blather.

I don't know if there are any text adventure fans hanging out here at present, but I've found old posts like this one: https://www.applevis.com/forum/macos-mac-apps/any-alternative-zoom-client-play-interactive-fiction-mac

Hi everyone,
I previously posted Norlay in the AppleVis Mac App Directory, and I’m making this post separately because I’m looking for users who are willing to actually test the app and give me feedback.
Norlay is a macOS AI assistant that I’m actively developing, and I want to make it as useful and accessible as possible, especially for VoiceOver users.
I’d really appreciate it if you could try the app and let me know what you find. I’m particularly interested in:
β€’ Bugs or unexpected behavior
β€’ Problems using the app with VoiceOver

Hi members.
I am currently looking for tutorials on how to use the new file search feature in Alfred we are able to do it quite easily by simply typing the file name for example practice one I could just type prac and enter I will have a 95% of opening the right file.
But now I believe macOS Tahoe this is also now available on spotlight but no idea of what to type to open the right file.
I have watched proper honest tech's spotlight video but i have issues catching up so the best way is to get a tutorial on how to do this with voiceover on.

Hi all,

It's Joseph here again. I'm looking to learn how to write apple and shell scripts. Are there any good resources that you guys would be willing to give me for getting started with this? I eventually want to make some scripts that'll work with VoiceOver.

Thanks,

Joseph

Hi!

For years I've used a program called Tincta, that was a very simple and easy to use texteditor. The company behind the software decided to discontinue it, due to the fact that other companies published other editors that was more powerful than Tincta. When I asked them about which editor to pick after Tincta they suggested atom editor but this editor is not accessible on the Mac.
