Hi, all. I've set my preferences in Safari to allow notifications. I get them from the messages for Google site when I'm actually there, but that's the only one. No others have asked permission to push notifications. Is there a setting I'm missing?

Hi all,
when attempting to install Windows 11 in Vmware Fusion running on my M3, I have found that the installer is missing the correct sound drivers for whatever hdaudio chipset Fusion is emulating on ARM. For those of you who have gotten Windows 11 working under a similar configuration, what did you have to do in order to get sound support (presumably post installation)? Is it better to use another hypervisor such as UTM in order to get a talking installation, as presumably it emulates a chipset the installer has drivers for? My exact steps thus far:

I am confused what to do other than resetting the whole thing.
I am not getting speech and sound on my MacBook Air. Only when I use bluetooth I can get speech and sound. Even the startup chime of the Mac does not play when I start my Mac.
I checked online and it seems those M Macs CMS and NVRAM and PRAM can not be reset. Any idea what could be done?

Hi all. I don't know whether this is a bug, or I'm just missing something. Earlier in the week I decided to set an alarm on my M1 MacBook Air to go off this morning ten minutes before my work-out class. Well, the alarm sounded and everything was very straightforward like on my iPhone 7, but I could not stop the alarm. Even shutting and reopening the lid didn't work. So I finally had to do a reboot of my Mac and that stopped the alarm. Anyone found a "stop" button for this? Any help greatly appreciated.

Ok, so am I correct in assuming there's no way to get Facebook website notifications in safari on Mac OS Catalina? This is not good. :( I hope I'm wrong. Not getting them with Google Chrome either, but would kind of prefer to use Safari. I checked notification settings in both browsers and they're showing as allowed.

Hey guys, it's been a while since I've last posted onto this forum, but I would like to ask you guys has YoruFukurou gotten an update? I haven't received any new updates from them. they was going to release an update with the direct message limits removed, but so far, no update. are they any optional twitter clients for mac that works with voiceover? because from all I know, I think the debs aren't doing anymore updates to the app. and the app hasn't been updated yet. I also tweeted them asking them, but no reply.

Hello, first of all, I apologize if this is somehow covered in another forum, but while digging, I couldn't find a relatable forum. I'm having issues with sites either not being responsive or they're just not good for VO users. Example: I play guitar and frequent ultimate-guitar.com. There's a section where you can "Add a Shot" (a video of you playing guitar). The issue is, under "SHOTS" on the main page, "add a shot" is a text element.

Hey all,
Has anyone else noticed that selecting noncontiguous items with the keyboard and Voiceover doesn't seem to work the same as before? When I try to use VO + command + spacebar to select something, I just get the Voiceover ding symbolizing that I can't. :( Very frustrating! anyone having this problem in Mavericks and if so, have you found a solution?

So, I have a bunch of mp3 files I am copying to an SD card. I'm wondering if there is a way to normalize them, other than using iTunes. I don't want to port them into my library, just to run a sound check on them, because they simply don't belong there. So, is there a stand-alone app that I can use for normalization? Thanks

Now, i choose delete the original user folder, and all data, but still i got the not enough disc storage.
My Time machine image is smaller than my Mac HD, if tit is empty,
so, how can i make my time machine image take place and delete my original Content?

I've been using Jump Desktop to access my Mac Studio from my MacBook Air while I'm away, and it's been working perfectly over the past year. However, in the past month, something has changed. I'm curious if anyone else has encountered this issue.
When I connect to the Mac Studio, I can hear all audio except for VoiceOver Speech. VoiceOver's navigation sounds and media playback audio come through just fine, but VoiceOver Speech does not. I also tried connecting via the iPhone app and experienced the same problem.

Hi all. i use comcast for my mail, I have two accounts. Last night things were working fine, but today, it won't bring in any mail. I used the connection doctor, it keeps saying that i'm connecting to server under all the accounts, those, and iCloud. As far as i know nothing's changed on comcast's end, and i have not tested if I can send anythingyet. I don't know much about the Mac, so i haven't really dived in to this yet. The mail is set up as pop accounts, I don't know why before it wasn't pop3. I looked on the comcast site, and there is mail waiting for me.

Recently I upgraded to Ventura.
My voice of choice is Alex.
When I booted in to Ventura, I was switched to the Daniel British voice.
When I look through the voices using the router, I'm not seeing Alex in the list of voices.
WHere's the guy gone?
Out of all the voices, I've always found Alex to be the most understandable.
Could be because its the voice I've been using since I switched to mac years ago...
But, where is venturaAlex?

I'm editing this post in view of some of the comments below.
There had been reports that Notepad++ had been released on MacOs. I'd seen posts on this on Mastodon from respected blind folk who had probably got excited like me at the thought.
However, it seems that this is a vibe coded rip-off of Notepad++ and is in no way associated with the text editor that has been around on Windows for so long, and was my text editor of choice for many years in my seeing days on Windows.
