Hi everyone, hope you're doing well and staying safe. i'm running the latest version of macOS Sonoma on an M2 14 inch MacBook Pro. I have a TS3 plus hub which I've used to connect hard drives to the laptop. The cable connecting the hub to the laptop was too short, so I decided to try a longer USB cable. But one I've plugged the cable back in none of the hard drives that are currently attached to the hub show up on the Mac at all. Please can anybody advise me as to what the issue might be and how to resolve it?

Relatively speaking, I'm fairly new to the Apple world, but after having an iPhone for just under a year, I'm hooked. I'm currently in the market for a new laptop and going to make the switch from a PC to Mac. (Heavily leaning towards a Mac Book Pro.) My question has to do with WWDC coming up in a few weeks. There is talk of possible upgrades to the laptop lines. Does anyone have advice/suggestions as far as if I'd be better off to wait a few weeks to see what happens? I'm extremely anxious to replace my laptop because its on its last leg.

Hi Everybody,
Does anyone have advice for handling comboboxes when applying to jobs? It's seems to be my worse nightmare.
I get the interacting with it, but hardly get anything out of it, even with typing. I'm just not sure if I'm not doing it right, if I'm missing something, or what it is.
Any advice is appreciated.

So, I have been using Microsoft teams on the Mac for quite a while. As far as activities, I have ignored groups. However, I have read That for apps like Microsoft teams, it is easier to go back to the normal grouping behavior, standard. Why does this make it easier to use teams, I’m asking, because I have noticed that using teams with ignore groups is... kind of a pain in the neck. If I switch back to standard for teams, what should I be aware of? How will it make things easier and smoother compared to ignore groups?

HI guys. I'm thinking of purchasing a Mac in the next couple of days. I've used them in store many years ago and was mostly impressed, but for the fact that MS office did not work at the time. Now as I understand it it's almost fully accessible. Is there anyone I could start up a dialogue with on here please to explain how to use it with Voiceover, what parts of MS office do or do not read etc? This is a real dealbreaker for me as to whether I buy the Mac or not. Thanks.

As a bit of background, I grew up heavily using JAWS and Windows in a work environment. About 8 years ago as the iPhone became fully accessible, I began using it and loved VO on the phone. I quickly purchased a Mac for personal use and to learn the Apple systems. I retired a couple of years ago and stopped using Windows and JAWS. For email, the web and other functions, the Mac is great and integration with my iPhone and iPad is extremely helpful.

I'm having a lot of trouble using Soulseek with Voice Over. I cannot even perform a search let alone browse results. Any one able to use this program with Voice Over? If so, advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello there, just wondered if anyone might be able to advise me which is the correct app to install please? So i'd like to have the option of using zoom on the Mac or the iPhone, just depending on my circumstances at the time. I've just done a search for Zoom in the Mac app store and have been presented with a list of what seems like thousands of very strange-sounding apps, none of which sound to me like they have much to do with meetings and communication. Is there a way i can somehow narrow my search? Does zoom for Mac have a specific name?

Hi all. After the update, I had to reset prefferences I had set years ago. I don't remember them all, so hopefully someone can help. first, when on a site like this one, I am only seeing part of the page when I tab through.,i don't anymore. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it. i have it set to use tab to hight items or however that is, but it still feels like something's off. Second, on long blocks of text where it would read fine with a two finger flick down, it now will pause, say busy, then start up in different places causing me to miss a lot of things.

I often find when I am using Chrome or similar apps (e.g. Vivaldi and Spotify which I think just embed Chromium) that I am constantly fighting against the browser trying to scroll all the way to the top of the page all the time.
For example, I can be in a Spotify playlist, scrolling down and then for seemingly no reason I am back at the top again. Or I can be looking at a web page, swap to a different app, swap back and suddenly I'm at the top again.

Super Wispr isn't accessible. Has anybody got any recommendations for any AI dictation apps and clients that are accessible?

After Updating my Iphone 12 mini to Latest IOS 15.1, Airdrop is not working at all with my Mac mini late 2012 running the latest Mojavi update,
so, is there away to fix this?

I’d like to achieve something like this: I want to route VoiceOver from my iPhone to my Mac so that it reads subtitles in the TV app. In other words, I play content in the TV app on my iPhone and mirror everything to my Mac—but in such a way that VoiceOver on the Mac reads the subtitles.
When I use screen mirroring, the screen reader does show up on the Mac, but as soon as I start playing a movie, VoiceOver stops reading anything.
Do you know of any way to force VoiceOver to read those subtitles on the Mac? Or is this simply not possible?

Hi all,
Does anybody know of an accessible app that'll allow me to airplay my iOS device and record narration? I want to do iOS Let's Plays, but Airserver seems to be inaccessible on the Mac. I have X-Mariage, but actually didn't know what it was and I had had it on my computer for a while. It must not have been accessible, as I didn't buy it when I tried it.
Anyone have any solutions?

Hi all, wasn't sure if this needed to be moved. Randomly I'll be on a web page, click something and the page loads but no speech. does this seem to happen toanyone else? Latest Mac OS, second gen Airpods. If anyone has a work around let me know. Thx

I'm using iTunes in windows. I'm wondering why, when I have view set to songs, iTunes gives me an accurate count of how many albums I have. When, however, I have view set to albums, iTunes separates my compilation albums into individual tracks and, therefore, gives me a completely different total of albums.

Yesterday I reinstalled OS X 10.11 (fresh install) because I was having a multitude of issues. I imported my iTunes library from a copy I had an external drive. Now my Albums are dimmed or greyed out. The issue becomes stranger: I can go into the album grid and all 200 albums are greyed out, then I can exit the grid, reenter and some percentage will show. Sometimes I can access a few and other times I can access the first 84 albums. I have spent hours trying to figure this out, but I can never access anything more than 84 of my albums.

I noticed every time I power up the mac for since the latest update, I get a notification that says something like "google updater was prevented from updating apps on your mac." I'm not really sure what this means or if it's a weird bug. Is anyone else experiencing this?
