Hi,
I have a giant load of .epub and .mobi files, with some .docx files thrown into the mix. I'd like to convert all of these to .txt files so I can then put them in audio using book2speech. Is there an app that will allow me to convert them all to .txt in one go? They're all unprotected.
Thanks

I'm studying some music compositions and i need an app that can slow down music and make a loop, again and again to study it more, i tried Quick time, i can find the Loop Command, but can not find the way to make in and out for making the loop.
do you have any recommendations on how to do that?
any ideas on how to do it? or is there any suggestion for another app?

Hello Applevis. I was wondering if there was an app to read books, and I'm not talking about iBooks because I know about that. I'm talking about an app to read books from bookshare. I also know about the web reader as well.
Thank you.
Becca

Hello everyboy,

Here is my last AppleScript: VoiceOverTranslator.

You can use this applescript to translate the last spoken text by VoiceOver.

This script requires a Python interpreter and Googletrans library.

You can read all information in the readme file.

You can download the script in the VoiceOverTranslator repository

Hi,
Is there any application to prepare the progress card of a student. It should have the fields like S.no, Name of the student, Marks obtained, grade and so on. It should be very accessible and easy to use and print the result.

Hi all. As any of you know who've dealt with me on skype knows, I don't always know or do, the easy commands. Lke command C to copy, I tend to voice over shift M, arrow down, click copy. Is there a keyboard shortcut to append to whatever's on the clipboard? Say you have a book, you want to select both parts. Part one, no problem. what about part two? Thanks for any help.

Hi all.
I have luckily found a reliable way to temporarily get over the bug in which you can toggle the QuickNav feature of VoiceOver running on OS X 10.11 El Capitan.
This is a very simple and effective workaround on my MacAir 2014 and I just wanted to instantly share it with you since I know how bad it must feel to either keep switching to another application and back to where you were or have to restart VoiceOver madly just to get QuickNav to work again.

Hi everyone. Just a bit ago as I was writing in my personal journal, an idea about Apple Intelligence popped into my mind and I'm curious what y'all think. Those of us who used the Braille 'n Speak and the Type 'n Speak might remember a feature where documents would automatically save, without the need for clicking on a "Save" button or anything like that. I'm wondering if Apple could eventually implement such a feature? This would probably be down the road a bit, since Apple intelligence was just rolled out.

Hello Applevis!
As a certain youtuber would say, I hope you're all having a lovely day :)
I am on sequoia rc, I literally have 0 idea whether or not this would work the same way on previous versions although I'd tend to think so.
So basically in college we were working and I was in team with someone who handed out the final copy written on paper to the teacher. For the sake of not losing any class related material, I asked him to send me the photo of what we'd done together.

Hi everyone,
Is there a problem with Os X when one tries to open a DMG file downloaded on a Windows machine?
What actually happened was, I downloaded a .dmg file to install VMware fusion from mac torrents. I used a torrent client on a machine running windows 8.1 to download this file. Then I loaded it to a flash drive and tried to open it on my Mac air. Then an error popped up saying that the file cannot be opened cause it's corrupted.

Hi all,
I have an issue with voiceover. I have this issue when I upgraded to MacOS 10.14
Sometimes, when I unlock my mac and login voiceover's sounds disappears. That means,I can use all of voiceover commands but I can't hear anything. The only option I have is to restart.
I tried to change the default voice of voiceover but nothing happened.
does any one know how to get rid of this problem because it is annoying and I always have to restart.

Hi,
So I don't know when this started in Tahoe. Or whether it's propagated to older versions too. But at the time of writing this, the latest version fo iwork app (tested in pages) have an old bug back.
Tldr, VoiceOver will, again, say the text style (body, etc) at each keystroke whenever you are selecting text with the macos standard commands in the text area.
Example.
You have the following sentence.
This is a small text.
And the cursor is somewhere there.
You want to remove "a small".

Hi everyone, I trust you're doing well. I've encountered an unusual issue on my MacBook. I tried switching my Dictation language to English UK and disabling the English US process. Strangely, even after selecting English UK, my Mac insists on keeping both English UK and English US voice processes. Any assistance in resolving this would be greatly appreciated!

cheers!

Hello,

On some sites, I have to locate elements with their colors. Is it possible to know the color of an element with VoiceOver? Is it possible to make a script to do this?

Thank you! :)

Hi people,

I have been working a few months on a new game. It is a side scroller where you pick items, defend yourself against enemies, level up your character, spend points, shoot rockets and missiles, and much more!

Currently, the game is available for both Mac and Windows, I will only post the link for Mac here as this is AppleVis.

Please note: As of right now, the app is not signed, and may be buggy, as it is still in early beta.

That said, here is the link.

Hello AppleVis Community,

I hope you are all doing well. I am writing to share an exciting personal journey and a project that I have recently started developing: Armoni (working title), a brand-new screen reader designed specifically for macOS.
