I'm trying Thorium, since lots of people seem to love it. ANy tips? Here are a couple of issues I'm running into.
1. It seems to have a problem with some book formatting, e.g. in the current book I'm reading, it hits a page break and just starts saying "Thorium Reader" over and over again until I hit VO-right arrow, then it gets to the next part of the content. To be fair, Apple Books does something like this too, sometimes. But this is happening more often, at least for the current book. Any way to stop it?
OK so I'm retaking the use of ITunes after almost 6 years of not used it for music purposes, to put music on my 5S; I'm wanting to create playlists based on how I have music folders organized on my Laptop, thus the process I follow for this is; I mentioned the process, hoping maybe there's a faster way?
After I recently upgraded to the latest MacOS, I found that my Apple Music is nearly unusable on my Mac. When I use VO combined with the left and right arrows to navigate to "Home" or "Library," and then press VO + Shift + Down Arrow to interact with the submenu, I can barely do anything. I canβt select any of the recommended music lists from Apple Music, nor can I access any play buttons.
Hi everyone. I might've posted about this before, so please forgive me if this is a repeat. But I'm wondering if anybody else has experienced this. When attempting to edit track info in iTunes and then saving my changes, the track order gets all mixed up. I thought this would be fixed but not yet. I have several tracks that I downloaded as part of messages on a mailing list, and some stuff that was burned for me and then I imported it into iTunes. This is happening on my mid-2013 MacBook Air running iTunes 12.7 and OS X High Sierra. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi all. When I interacted with facebook, there was a "tag friends" button. How do you interact? I Voice over space, nothing, space, nothing. Can anyone help. Yes, I know there's a mobile site, no I don't always want the "blind person";s way out. Thanks for any help.
Sometimes, when on a website, there are annoying announcements from live regions, which can make the website unusable. For example, when trying to purchase foreign currency using my bank's web page, partway through the process, a live region keeps announcing that there are x minutes before the quoted rate expires. This makes it impossible to continue with finalizing the purchasing. Another example involves several web pages with embedded ads. There is a constant announcement that the ad will end in x seconds.
Can anyone make any recommendations for Mac apps that enable you to blank the screen except for a selected area or window? I would like to have this functionality for my iMac. There are a few apps within the PC world that effectively do this, such as Zorro and TunnelVision, but so far, I haven't found anything similar for Mac. Essentially, in a text-heavy document (such as an essay or article), I need to be able to blank all surrounding text with the exception of a selected area that I can move as I read through the document.
Hey there.
Is there a tool to convert .brf to .txt and back again using liblouis?
I need liblouis because I need wide language support. For some reason Braille Blaster doesn't support all the liblouis tables, so that's not an option. I literally need a tool where I can give it a .brf or .txt, pick a braille table, hit convert.
is the Touch Bar on my MacBook Pro usable in a Windows VMWare or in Bootcamp?
If so does Jaws reads its buttons or VoiceOver?
If Touch Bar doesn't work in both environments how to use f-keys in Windows on a MacBook Pro with Touch Bar?
Has anyone experiences?
Hi
I recently received MacBook Pro 2020 M1 with Touch Bar. I have been trying to organize the items on the TouchBar but it all went in vain. Anyone can provide simple instructions on how to do it?
Thanks for any help.
I was just wondering if there was a way to set it up so I could use touch ID at the log in screen rather than my passcode. I thought this was possible, but now i can't seem to find it anywhere.
I used to read Braille with my left hand and use the touch tones on my phone with my right hand. I would like to get rid of my landline and I see that I can use a virtual phone in Big Sur. I am able to call a phone number using the number pad on my computer, but when I get to the place in the banking system where I need to press touch tones, my number pad doesn't generate them. However, sighted people using the mouse can press the buttons on the screen. Does anyone else have this challenge and has anyone else come up with a solution?
Hi.
I've read about and am able to confirm that, when using Logic Pro on a Macbook Pro with touch bar, automation controls are displayed on the touch bar and can be read with VoiceOver.
However, I do not seem to be able to change values of those controls. VoiceOver simply reads their labels, but they seem to be not actionable, at least from VoiceOver's point of view.
Is there anyone on this list using Logic Pro on a Macbook with touch bar?
If yes, have you been able to use these controls or are we out of luck?
Hi there,
Wasn't sure where to put this. Mods feel free to move.

Hi all. I'm using a Macbook pro, with the trackpad commander on. As I just did writing this message, as I'm typing my forearms, my wrists, and other times, seem to bump the trackpad. Is there any way to stop this? I find myself having emails messed up and other text written that i have to fix. Thanks for any help.
I have a new Mac running High Sierra and with a Magic 2 track pad. The pad suddenly stopped talking 2 days ago. I had to reboot the computer, and I may have done something that the pad didn't like when trying to get Voiceover to come back. I have tried turning on the track pad commander. I also found the place in system preferences that said the pad was connected. The only gesture that seems to work is opening Mission Control. Please help.
Wanted to see if others are experiencing this before I submit it to Apple.
When the trackpad options are set to "ignore trackpad while VO is running," the gesture to turn trackpad commander on works, but then the trackpad becomes entirely unresponsive, instead of only blocking non-VO gestures while allowing trackpad commander. For example, I can't turn trackpad commander back off. Unchecking the "ignore trackpad" option returns trackpad commander to normal functionality.
I have a MacBook Pro, which has a trackpad. When I took a look at the trackpad commander, it looked like there is over 200 different possible gestures, most of them can be assigned. I am interested in using the trackpad as much as possible because using the arrow keys is starting to give my wrist and arm problems. Does anyone have a customized list of gestures that is easy to remember and use?
