Hello,I have been having trouble selecting text in google crome on the mac. Is this even possible with crome, or is there a setting I can change to make this work? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am unable to select and copy text in preview and apple books on mac. The text selection is turned on in Preview. I can not select text by pressing the option key as well as the finger gestures on both the applications. It is working fine on Safari on websites and html documents. Please help me with this if someone knows what is the issue here.

Does anyone know if you can change the base font size in Safari on the Mac, and if so, how? I've searched through the menus and preferences but can't seem to find it.

My husband uses Mac's text to audio file function when he needs to read long documents. It doesn't seem to be working with High Sierra though - has anyone else had success?
I access the text to audio file function by opening a document in Word or Pages, selecting all of the text and then going to Word (or Pages)>Services>Add to iTunes as Spoken Track.
The first time I tried this it created a 20 second long AIFF track. Given that the doc was +20 pages, 20 second was quite mean!

I am trying to set the margins smaller to print closer to the edge of the paper, likewise with the header and footer. I would also like to set this as the default. II have enabled the ruler but haven't been able to acomplish the above. Anyone able to offer any pointers in the right direction, thanks Ron.

Several times now, I've received an incoming text and replied to the wrong person by accident. I thought I'd describe what I'm doing. If everyone is seeing this, maybe it's a bug.
Here's the initial situation: On MacOS, at least one conversation exists in the Messages app, but it's an old conversation, and the app itself is closed. Then you get a notification that someone new (different conversation) has sent you a text, and you want to send them a reply.

Greetings, Applevis community.
After reading a lot about OS X and Mac machines I finally decided to buy mac. Basically it is going to be my main machine that'll be used for reading, writing and entertainment. Actually I am still confused about the various mac variants, so when I went to the store I detailed my needs and expectations and the staff there recommended a Mac Air 11. This is for its weight as I have problems with backbone, and the decent battery life, as well as the price tag. Was their recommendation fair enough?

1. I can not use safari, because a website that I need to use crashes even on stable macOS, it just not works fully2. I don't want to use google chrome, because off tracking.
firefox is not an option, because of how afful the experience on macOS is.

Hi,
I'm using Utorrent. It's easy for me to use with VoiceOver and has everything I need.
However, UTorrent is not 64 bit adapted and will not work on Mac OS Catalina.
You can recommend a some replacement.

I would like to start a topic about productivity on the mac. While windows has it for some things, people say that advanced word processing on the mac is not a viable solution at this point. If you are using pages, this is mainly true. Whiel it is posible to work with pages, the time it takes to learn all of the ways to make the application work with you is just bnot worth it. That being said, I would liek to talk about an application I use to write papers, application reviews, and things of the like in. Its called IText express. It is a simple application, and it is easy to use.

Hi all. I'm seeking a decent MacOS alternative to Gold Wave on Windows for single-track audio editing. I'm a logic user, but I find editing audio that isn't music in Logic to be slow and laborious. I was a Gold Wave user under windows many years ago, and there are 2 features I really miss:
1) The ability to set a selection using left and right brackets without needless dialogue boxes for setting boundaries.
2) The ability to scrub (rewind and fast forward) with the F5 and F6 keys, like spinning a record by hand or manually controlling an open reel tape.

I'm new to this forum, but I've been a Mac user since 2009 when I bought a then new white MacBook from the same year. As far as software goes, I took it as far as Mavericks. I'm not able to constantly buy new Mac toys, so that's why it took me till now to take the plunge and buy a used 2015 MacBook Pro, which seems to be working fine so far. I'mcurrently running Mojave.

I have noticed this for some time now, and it remains particularly aggravating. There are occasions when I am simply typing too quickly as I attempt to log into my Mac; after two such attempts, I receive a popover with my password hint. But there is no apparent way to dismiss said popover. I am, whenever I receive it, forced to restart via a hard shutdown and try again. I would prefer not to have to do this, however, if there is any way to avoid it. Any thoughts?
