hello everyone,

anyone tried the thinkorswim desktop, how is it working for yu? as far as i can tell, the web version is not quite usable yet. the all-in-one ticket on schwab.com is very good now. if thinkor swim lives up to its promise and becomes accessible, it would be great.

Hi all,
I heard that third-party screen readers will be able to be installed on mac? Is this true?
Has apple opened the API?
Thanks

I've heard a lot of mixed opinions on this, so I'm curious what you all think.

For those that don't know, a catalyst app is basically an iOS app that had a little bit of code added to it to make it a Mac app. Some examples of this are the official Twitter app and the Music app, although I think that one's actually coming out with an official Mac version soon.

Last week, I wrote a rather controversial post on why I don’t use an iPhone. This time, I’m sticking a bit tighter to this site’s main topic - Apple. More specifically, Macs. And as usual, we start with a backstory. I’ve used talking computers since 2004. I’ve used just about every screen reader you can think of - first window-eyes, then JAWS, then NVDA when I decided SMA’s suck.

Hello appleVis community,
I had a question for you about Python as a Programing language. I've used it some, and the IDE I've used is Eclipse. I've had to have someone sighted with me when I use it to make sure that spaces don't get messed up. As python is space sensitive.
I wanted to hear your thoughts if you have used it. What IDE did you use? How well did it work? What would you suggest for me? And anything i should mention to my professor?

Hi all,
Been trying to get Thunderbird set up on my Mac with an iCloud mail account. I created an app-specific password, entered that and did a manual configuration. Then I hit the Retest button to verify all was good.

It may be the password but not sure as I can't get Voiceover to repeat what may be the dialog regarding the password.

Has anyone been successful installing Thuderbord with an iClould account? I do have one account setup that isn't iCloud. Thanks.

I have an m1 MacBook Air and the time announcement feature has recently stopped working. I am running the latest version of Mac OS and I'm wondering if this is a bug. I have turned the feature off and back on again and I have also tried restarting the machine with no luck.
any help would be appreciated.

so, after breaking my VM, breaking the thing that was supposed to fix the broken vm, and realizing that my vm was already a bloated monster threatening to devour my hard drive entire, I'm calling it quits with VMWare. arguably, none of the above is fusion's fault--but installing a new version of the vm requires a soundcard I don't have right now. on top of which I can't use VoiceOver to help set it up because of the 100 percent reproducible bug that guarantees that the vm will fall over as soon as the vm catches a glimpse of it. so, recommendations?

Hi all,

Earlier this month, Rogue Amoeba published <a href="https://weblog.rogueamoeba.com/2018/03/01/the-end-of-the-nicecast-era/">this blog post</a> explaining that Nicecast has now been retired from active development. It will continue to be supported until the end of 2018, then it will be fully deprecated and is unlikely to be supported on the next major MacOS update.

If you are low vision and still use a mouse, and you sometimes locate the pointer by dragging it into a corner, then the new Quick Note feature in Monterey might be an inconvenience that you'd like to disable. Here's how to turn off the Quick Note hot corner:

Hello,
I will be getting a MacBook Pro on Friday. I have some experience with voiceover on Apple Mac because my school has an iMac. If you have any tips or tricks, feel free to drop them in the comments.

Hey everyone,
Hope you’re all doing well. I’m posting on behalf of a friend who recently started a new position where the company uses Google Workspace for everything. She’s using a MacBook with VoiceOver, and while she’s become very comfortable and efficient using Microsoft products over the years, Google is proving a little bit more frustrating.

Hey everyone,

I hope you're all doing well. I'm reaching out to the community seeking advice on performing complex mouse clicks alongside specific keys using VoiceOver on macOS.

Hey all,
Any tips on enhancing the look of Pages/TextEdit documents? I submit proofread/translations to customers and also publish my own research papers so my documents have sometimes to meet specific standards. Each time I ask sighted people around me about the overall look of my documents they will keep making changes and moving content around. I do the alignment, font size and style, paragraph spacing ETC still sighted people will always have something to recommend.
Thanks.
