Mac

Hi all:

Has anyone experienced that OneDrive on the mac cannot be accessed with VoiceOver in Sierra? For me it is not possible to get to the submenu of the application in the Extra Menus and when I go to the apps forlder on the Mac and try to open the app it says it has no windows, it doesn't seem to care whether I invoke the window chooser with VO+F2 because it continues to say it has no windows.
Any suggestions on this, please?

Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone,
Does anyone have experience taking exams with a MacBook using OnVUE by Pearson VUE?
Their check-in and exam simulation process is very accessible. However, things are different when doing the actual exam. VoiceOver didn’t read the actual exam screen at all. It only read the screen that had the chat and whiteboard buttons. It seems that these screens are like tabs in their exam environment and it is not possible to switch between them.
Is there a workaround for that or is it something they need to fix on their end?
Thanks in advance,
Tarja

Had anyone been able to use Garageband 10.0.03 successfully with VoiceOver? I'm trying to learn how to use it for recording voice with an additional audio track, but haven't found how to even select the input source. I was able at least of doing that in older versions of GB. Any comments will be appreciated.

hi all. is it just me or is ibooks inaccessible? i've just listened to the ibooks section of david's podcast and that only scratches the surface. maybe it's just the books i'm reading, but i can only read 1 chapter at a time with the command VO+a. the read next chapter command doesn't work with vo so you have to manually go into the go menu and do it from there and it's a hit and miss if that works at all. the table of contents of a book is inaccessible you go to it with command t try and go up and down through the list and it disappears.

Hi,
Has anyone tried iWork for iCloud? If so, are there tips/suggestions on VoiceOver interacting with KeyNote?
I was trying to review some slides, but only accessible way I found was to print to PDF then read in Preview...The UI to even accomplish this was not very intuitive.
Hope I am missing something obvious.
Some slides I was trying to preview using KeyNote for iCloud:

Hello, I am considering switching from windows to a mac. My primary job is to test java-based desktop applications for accessibility, and I have become curious whether these could be accessible on a mac. The applications in question are written using swing, and are "fairly accessible" on windows, but before I spend hte money for a mac, I want to have some assurance that I can use the applications on it. I have to confess I haven't ever used a mac nor for that matter have I ever actually "seen" one that I know of :-)

Good day. how accessible is M-S-Office 2016 on the Mac? I don't have a copy and would rather not buy one to test. I'd also love to know what areas of office are not yet accessible. As an A.T specialist I recommend products and software and would love to be able to recommend office for mac since I get many questions about it's accessibility. Thanks.

Hello. I'm wondering how accessible is Main Stage for the Mac? Has anyone tried using it before?
Thank you :-)

Can anyone comment on the accessibility of Mainstage for Mac? It doesn't look like they offer any sort of trial. I could really use a program for building and triggering synth pads, but obviously I don't want to waste the money and time to dig into MainStage only to find that it's not useable. Any personal experience would be great!

I want to know if someone here know how to use MS Word with Voiceover. For several years I have tried it without any success. I don't know if the accessibility of it is different to what I normally use on other apps, or if it is just unaccessible. For reading documents it is excellent, and even better than Pages because it will go from one page to the next one without stopping like in Pages. But I haven't found how to create a document on Word. I can type but I can't get feedback of what I'm typing even for correcting typos.

Hi, all. I have a student who would like to use the R app which I have learned is for statistics. She needs to be able to input code to create the charts and then read the output after charts and stats have been created. I know nothing about this but wanted to check in and see if anyone has experience with this program on Mac. She also uses a Braille display and would like to read the output on the display. I have no idea if this is more accessible on a PC. Thanks for any input.

I don't know if this issue is happening to me only because of some misconfiguration in my Mac, but for the last few years checking for apps in the app store of the Mac is a real pain for me. I can search for apps without problem, but then when I select one app to get more details about it, things get complicated. There are several containers with the details.

I am wondering if anyone uses Vanguard for their retirement plan or personal investments and, if so, your sense of accessibility of their site.
Personally, I have been a Vanguard user for several years and, as time has passed, I have found their accessibility deteriorating significantly. On the Mac side, the issues are much worse than on their IOS app. I find navigation very difficult, buttons mislabeled, interactions with dialogues and lists don't work, etc.

Hey guys, I recently got a Macbook Air (early 2015 model running OSX 10.11.5 Elcapitan). I’m a visually impaired user and having serious difficulties using Voiceover on the Mac.
My problems/questions are as following:

Good morning,

Recently, after logging into my Mac Mini, I keep getting this window that appears, which VoiceOver reads as "Accessibility UI server has no windows". Since this has only appeared recently in the past week, I'm not sure if this is a glitch with Tahoe or some unwanted setting that's enabled/disabled.

Just curious if anyone else has seen something similar and perhaps may have a clue as to what might be going on?

Thanks!

Hello everyone. Hope all is well.
I recently was trying out Firefox on my Mac. Any tips for a first time user of the program? My main browser is Safari.
One thing that I will say that's annoying is that when I close the app using command Q, it doesn't close... I then have to press command option escape and close it that way. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Thank you so much
