Hi. I've been searching for an accessible hydrometer for checking relative humidity inside my house, because I just got a swamp cooler. Just found this gadget and app. Has anyone used it? http://www.sensorpush.com/

hi there,
This might be out of the realm of most Apple topics, but I’m wondering if anyone knows of an accessible teeth whitening kit? I’ve been trying to find one for a long time, but they all have LED lights, and they are not accessible, any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Hello everyone
I am considering a smart lock and I am looking for advice on one that is blindness friendly and works on iOS. I am thinking that one with a physical keypad would be best. I went to a local hardware store but could find only one with a keypad that is "integrated," meaning it will fit my current front door. Has anyone had any experience with the Kwikset 99380-001 Halo Wi-Fi Smart Lock I found?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi guys,
I am in the process of renting a house, and I will be installing a smart thermostat. Does anyone have suggestions? I have looked in to nest, but I don't like the fact that it lacks HomeKit support. I am leaning more towards iDevices, but would like to get others input.
Thanks so much!

I am aware that Samsung televisions are completely accessible. In fact, I have one of these. However, my parents are considering purchasing an LG television because of the good price. Could you please let me know what type of accessibility experience I might expect. Thank you so much for any help.

I have six sound files that are my own original content. I imported them from iTunes on the Mac to my phone and they are in my music library. I have my Amazon echoes set up with Apple Music as my default player. my playlists from the content that I stream on Apple Music on my phone sync fine, But my original content will not sync. The playlist with my original content plays fine on my phone, but every time I try to play it on any of my echoes, Alexa acts like she's going to play it, but then she gives me an error message saying sorry, something went wrong.

I am looking for an accessible device for measuring the humidity in my house. If anyone has a recommendation for such a device that can measure indoor humidity relatively accurately whose readings I can check on my iPhone that would be great. I like to keep the humidity in my house between 30 and 40 percent to keep my piano happy in this dry state of Colorado.

thanks for any recommendations.

Hi. I want to get a thermostat I can control with my iOS device. I want to be able to switch between heat, AC, fan, or just shut the whole system off. I also need to be able to adjust the temperature. Being able to program different temperatures for different times of the day would be nice, but not a requirement. I am wondering which thermostats have accessible apps. I do not want to go buy a thermostat just because the box says it can be controlled by iOS devices only to get it home and have it installed just to find out that the app for it is not accessible.

Hi all.

Need to upgrade my TV set for the sake of an Atmos soundbar. Which of the platforms would you say is most accessible? I do use an Apple TV, but it might be nice to have some other things to play with on the TV itself... As far as I can tell there are the main ones:

Google TV - Sony uses this
Android TV (not sure how this differs)
Fire TV Samsung
LG

A note, I'm talking about full TVs which use these platforms and not streaming sticks or pucks such as the Amazon Fire Stick or the stand alone Google TV puck.

Good afternoon. I am planning to buy a new microwave oven soon. Since most microwave ovens have touch panels, I was wondering if there are any microwave ovens on the market that can be controlled by an IPhone? Thanks in advance for your input, and have a good day.

I need suggestions on which "smart thermostats" to consider. Any recommendations?

Good morning!

I have a personal pet peeve about people sneaking into my room/dorm/etc. without me knowing. Does anyone know of a good solution that's loud, customizable, and works with HomeKit? I'm new to smart home tech and don't know much terminology. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'm sure many on here have already seen this, but Amazon announced a new subscription service for the lady A whose name cannot be mentioned for fear of a hundred ears pricking up across the land.

This will bring AI functions to the echo devices and the ability to perform more complex voice commands, like being allowed to fumble your words or chain commands together.

The cost is about $20 a month, but if you have a Prime subscription then you get it included, which is odd given that Prime costs less than this.

Hello all
My wife and I recently purchased a home and are able to get a $100 rebate deal on a wifi/smart thermostat from Nest, Ecobee or honeywell. We would like to purchase as soon as possible as current thermostat is 14 years old.
In looking at the many models, am still quite confused on what to purchase.

I’m considering a smart ring, but wanted to see if VoiceOver users have tried either of these?

Oura Ring: the most accurate sleep and activity tracker:

Motiv Ring | 24/7 Smart Ring | Fitness + Sleep Tracking:

If you have a smart ring, it’d be great to learn about your experience as a person who is blind.
Thanks!

Not sure if this is the best forum for this, but I picked up a pretty cool piece of gear and wanted to let folks know about it as many may be interested, and offer a bit of a review. It isn't a smart home device, but it could be classified under gadgets, so there ya go. I have, for several years now, been using an Allen & Heath XB-14-2 broadcast console for my online radio station.
