After installing mavericks, I am noticing that my incoming messages while in a chat are not being spoken. What can I do to fix this problem? They do read when someone sends me a new message and I am not in the conversation with them. I tried to turn off cursor tracking but that did not ork. I had no problems before this. Thanks.

Hello I am having an issue with Messages on my Mac. The name's of my contacts are not appearing... only the phone numbers are. I made sure all of the preferences are set correctly and I still have the issue. I've restarted Messages and restarted my Mac as well. Can you please help?

Thank you

Hello all, I seem to be having an issue logging in to messages on the mac. I don’t know why this is, but each time I enter my apple ID and password, which is correct, it says error can’t sign in try again. For the life of me I don’t know why this is. Any suggestions?

Hi all,

I've recently discovered that earlier this month, Facebook launched a desktop Messenger application for the Mac. Having downloaded it, I'm having some accessibility issues, notably navigating with VoiceOver; I'm unable to access the main content of the app using the typical VO commands, although tabbing around does seem to work in regards to navigating -- although this is, as I'm sure you can imagine, tedious and far from ideal. Has anyone had any success in using this app, and if so, are there any tips you can send my way?

Hi everyone, hope you're doing well and staying safe :) it's been awhile since I've looked into this topic so I thought I'd ask here again.
Currently, what is the best most accessible messenger client for both Mac and iOS that allows you to connect to several messenger services at once, for example, Facebook discord and telegram. I'm happy to look into options that are only available for macOS or iOs. But ideally something that supports both would be preferable.
Thank you very much for your help everyone :-)

The M1 hoopla prompted me to dig out my ancient MBA, update to the latest Catalina version and update Microsoft 365 to give it another spin. Here's what I ran into using Word:
1) Long documents still completely choke Voiceover. By long, I mean book-length. Navigating to the next page hangs for more than a second, and other tasks can just hang the machine indefinitely. Others have reported the same thing on here.

I'm using what I believe is the latest version of edge. The keyboard from microsoft says command shift w closes a tab. all it does, I've done it more then once, is close an entire window. Has anyone gotten this to work? weird.

Hi there everyone. Is the Microsoft Office for Mac 2016 fully accessible with Voiceover? Please reply as soon as possible.

Hello Apple Vis,
Does anyone know how well Microsoft's Office Subscription works with voiceOver?
I am considering getting it.
Thanks in advanced
Chuck

Ok so I’m in a major bind here and would really appreciate some help! I’m on an Intel Mac still running Mac OS Ventura, because it seemed safer than Sonoma.
I switched on the Mac today for the first time in a few days. Once it boots up, it’s saying “One Drive has no windows”.

Hello all,
I have recently subscribed to Office 365 and wanted to try outlook on my mac. I am having issues. I have put in my account information but its not getting emails. I am not getting any errors that I can see. I have hit cmd K to send and receive and still nothing. What might I be able to do to try and get outlook to work? Is there possibly a tutorial somewhere on using outlook on the mac?

Regards,
Greg Wocher

Could it be possible Microsoft made this accessible? Is VM a thing of the past?

Has anyone used Microsoft teams? Of course they are using a platform I haven't tried yet. I've downloaded it and am hoping i don't have to say appologetically, "I'm sorry, technology is being fun today." Also has anyone called into a conference number and used an Id? Do I just hope it works with the keypad and voice over? Thanks for any help.

How do you prevent Teams from stealing focus everytime you command tab away from it while being in a call?

Post Date:

Hey everyone.

So because we're using ms teams for our training these days, i thought I would give it a spin on the mac to see how well it works. the windows version as well as the mobile apps work quite fine and without any big hitch.

When I use microsoft teams with the zoom on it often stops. I can not move the mouse any more or do some input via the keyboard. When I stop the zoom with a shortkey everything works again.
Sometimes the problem stays when I stop teams. When I restart the computer it works again.

I just updated my Word program from 16.52 to 16.59, and it's broken. I can access menues and sidebars and everything, but I can't arrow through the text.
I can scroll through with the VO keys left and right, but not line by line. If I try to arrow down, with quick nav off, it'll read the whole document but not the individual lines.
I write for a living, so this is really, really inconvenient. Anyone have any tips for how I should fix this? Is this a me-error or an update error? Anyone else experience it?

Hi all, hope you're doing well and staying safe. Thanks to all those that help me with my last post.
I have a question about accessibility of Microsoft versus Apple products on Mac OS

Post Date:

Hey everyone. I wanted to know if anyone has used or uses microsoft word with mac os. As of late, I have noticed it keeps saying the area where text is supposed to be entered is an empty layout area or an empty scroll area. In addition, when I input text into the program it doesn't read any of what I'm doing and I can't scroll through the text by any means of navigation. Any ideas? I need this program for school since pages has problems with formatting in terms of conversion into word.

I have recently begun school to become a law clerk, and as such, spend a lot of time in microsoft word.
I am comfortable enough navigating documents to know now that it is largely usable, and aside from a few voiceover specific quirks, it remains functional for the regular day to day.
However the main issue I run into now is with tables. Microsoft have pleasantly provided decent documentation on most features of word with vo, including table navigation. However this is one area where things do not work so seamlessly between the two tech giants....
