Hello everyone,I can no longer send mail using the mail client with my Yahoo mail email address. Apple says that it is because Yahoo was bought by Verizon and the only way that I will be able to use the Mac mail client is to pay for the upgraded version of Yahoo mail. Is this true? I have had this email address for 13 years. If I do upgrade will I be able to send mail using the mac's mail client? I don't see anything about using other mail clients in the description for Yahoo Mail Pro. Does anybody have any ideas? Please help! Sas

Hi! Till now I'm not successful to set up and use the instant hotspot. Firmware on my devices (iphone 5 and macbook air 2013) are up to date. I followed as far as I can say the instruction but when searching for the installed hotspot the macbook doesn't find my iphone. Anybody here who has problems too when using the instant hotspot? I expected an easy use (e.g. a quick automatic connection) but reality shows something else. Maybe it's my fault. Would be nice to get an instruction step by step or a link to an instruction you have successfully used. Thanks a lot.

Hello everyone,
I have downloaded the Flash Player from Adobe for my new Macbook Air yesterday. The download worked fine, but while installing the Flash Player I had problems with VoiceOver. The buttons were all clearly labelled, but I was not able to click the "forward" button with VoiceOver. I accessed the button, pressesd VO+Space and nothing happened.
System: Mac OS X Yosemite, MacBook Air, VoiceOver (German).
Has anyone an idea?
I changed from Windows to Mac OS X a few days ago, so I have not that much experience with VoiceOver on the Mac.

I have just downloaded Amadeus Pro and Amadeus Light. I am trying to evaluate them, to decide which one to purchase, and so I am running them in demo mode. I find most of the editing commands to be very straight forward and relatively simple but I have a problem and Iām assuming there must be something simple that I am missing. Command-W does not close the open file and Command-Q does not close the program. To close the program, I have to do a forced quit and, when I start the app again, the same file is still open.

Hi,
I'm running OSX Mountain Lion and am trying to play a program on BBC iPlayer using Safari.
I can search for a program and click on the link to open its page, but when I do, I can't navigate to the video controls using VoiceOver. I'm using b and shift b to try and find the play button, as well as navigating the screen using the Voiceover cursor, but without any success.
Does anyone have any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

Hi folks,
I use to switch from PC to Mac OS by clicking on OS in the Bootcam icon in the notifications area. But now when I want to switch to OS, a message will pop up "OS volume can not be found ".
I started experiencing this issue after updating the Bootcam via the Apple update and also the Mac OS to High Sierra 10.13.
Is anyone experiencing same?
Am using MacBook air 13, 2015.

Hello everyone,
I prefer column view as it allows me to navigate folders using the arrow keys to open and close them. I find that, however, in 10.9, when I open Documents from the desktop with shift+command+D, I hear "Browser" and am not able to navigate. The arrow keys say nothing and I sometimes hear "scroll area" and nothing else. If I open the home folder, though and navigate to documents from there, this problem does not occur. It only occurs when attempting to open the documents folder from the desktop.

I Have just upgraded from an Intel Mac to M1 Chip Mac. When I migrated all my data from the Time Machine to the new computer, downcast will not sync episodes between Mac, iPhone, and iPad.
I have turned off iCloud syncing on iPhone, Mac and iPad and re-enabled them.
I have also deleted the app from the Mac, but syncing is still not happening.
Furthermore, I cannot seem to delete the episodes or podcast within downcast.

Hi, sometimes when sighted people are looking at something with me in Safari they want to make the window larger, they may call this maximising it which I take to be the same as putting it into full screen mode. So I put Safari into full screen mode and whenever I do this then switch away to another app and back again, Safari seems to lose the window which was open before I had switched away. So for example I may have two windows open in Safari, both of which may contain several tabs.

Hi all! So, i am a beginner in programming and I am learning python. I am using visual studio code for my windows and mac but after upgrading visual studio code for mac I notice that there is no way to move between characters in code in the text editor. I can move between lines of my code, but when I press right and left arrows with the quick navigation turned off it says the part of the code that is left after I pressed an arrow and what python version I am using so it's impossible for me to know which character I am on and it's impossible to work with the code because of it.

hi i am a new mac user. so maybe i am missing a big clue. shrug i just installed mud client called mud ability . and trust me that wasn't easy. anyways i coonected to my game just find i usually play aard wolf or alteraeon. i was able to connect but when i tried to type things in the input edit box they are not spoken and so the output doesn't say anything although i am typeing and no new text comes on. i do have the latest version of mac ios so i don't really know what i should do i hope you can help? thanks

I not successful to activate the quiik navigation.
I kno that i need go to voiceover utilities, but i not find this option.

I use Numbers on the Mac very frequently. With version 4.3.1 and earlier, Voice Over would say the cell contents, followed by the coordinates. After version 4.3.1, it says the coordinates followed by the contents. I find this to be much less efficient because, when I am scrolling down through the sheet, looking for something, I have to wait for it to say the coordinates each time I hit the down arrow before finding out if the cell contains what I'm looking for. Initially, I handled this problem by downgrading back to version 4.3.1. This worked for about a year or so.

Hi all. As this deals with both IOS and OSX, I wasn't quite sure where to put this. Anyway I have recently gotten an unlimitted data plan, and I at first saw siobhan's iPhone. Hoaever now whenI boot up, it decides if ti wants to connect, the phone is right beside me, so it's not like i'm to far away. I've reset network settings, signed out and back into iCloud, I've even rebooted both devices more then once. Also, another weird thing, the list of networks I have, contains, both Siobhan's iPhone, and iphone.

I have read about the problems that people are having with Voice Over and the latest Safari upgrade for the Mac. I am currently running Catalina, 10.15.5 and Safari 13.1.1. It is bugging me to upgrade to the latest version of Catalina. If I do so, I will also be upgrading to the latest version of Safari and all it's associated problems, correct? If so, I will definitely stay with 10.15.5 until they resolve the problems with VO and Safari.

I am a bit confused since i have installed the new operating system that Apple has released last week. Alex is a voice I've come to know and love because of the human qualities and it is not a robotic sound. Recently, I installed the new operating system and I am noticing that Alex doesn't work as well anymore. Not only does Alex stop working but, Siri stops working and the only thing I can successfully get to play is the music. Also, the clock stops speaking the top of each hour. I'm going to take a small guess here and say that the ingiuneers broke something here.
