Mac

Hi all,

I know that in the RS games client on macos you can hit F2 and F3 to tweak the music volume and that usually works for me. You're also supposed to be able to adjust the volume of sounds with F5 and F6 but I can't get that to work. I can barely hear the game sounds. Anyone know if there's a way to reset them?

I wish they could figure out a way to have the client to use VoiceOver instead of the system speech. It gets rather annoying having to adjust speech settings every time you start.

Hello, I accidentally slowed the speech on rs games. Now when I try to speed it up it will not go past 10 when I command right. Any assistance would be great. Is the a way to restore things

I couldn't find this question posted so thought I'd ask. I'd like to be able to play games from rsgames.org or th
mac. When I try installing the 64 bit program for the mac, I get a message on my mac saying it can't be installed since there's no guarantee the software doesn't contain malware since the site itself is not secure. I'm running Mac OS Catalina. Can these games be played on the mac? Thanks for any help you can give.

Good morning to all, I thought I'd reach out to the group as I recently came across an issue while trying to play on RS Games while being on a Facetime call Now maybe those who are way more experienced with using a Mac probably already know of a solution.

I was wondering how one can use RSS on a Mac? I kept getting a message saying something like Safari can't open RSS feeds. So, I installed an app called "Headlines" but Safari still doesn't recognize that it has been installed. I have not been able to figure out how to add feeds to Headlines because I don't have any feeds in my mail or in Safari. Any help would be greatly appreciated--I miss my news stories!

Hi all:

Sometime ago there was an app for the mack named Shrook. This app would let you read Rss feeds in text format. That app is no longer availabloe and I was wondering if there was another app that was accessible with voice over that would allow me to do this. I have to start my rss list over because I coulodn't save it.
Any and all help would be appreciated. I am on the latest OS for Mack.

Thanks.

The audio captcha's don't always play, plus the rumola thin now i have it installed I can't sign up for an account. I can log in, I can forget password but no other way around to sign up to use it. I have a Mac Mini at my office and would like to take it home for some work. When i tried this, Voiceover never came up, as I don't have a monitor or a mouse at home.

When I did hook it up to someone's monitor, something on the screen implied that the Mini won't run without a mouse. Is this true? Or is it possible to just use the Mac mini with a keyboard and NOT the mouse or monitor.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Hello,

Hi all — it is finally possible to run audio games with speech on Mac without a virtual machine. Here's what you'll need and how to set it up.

Requirements

  • Crossover
  • NVDA — pre-configured on a Windows machine or VM (portable preferred)
  • VOCR
  • Whichever game you wish to run

Setup

1. Configure NVDA for Speech Output

Use an add-on or, preferably, eSpeak — SAPI is not supported.

Hello everyone,

So I'm in the depths of seriously considering switching to a Mac. I did a site search but didn't find the answer.

Can the bard mobile app for iOS run on an M series Mac?

Assuming it does, what's that whole process like? I mean, how do you put iOS apps on the Mac, how do you navigate them once they're running, stuff like that?

Hey guys. I currently have a MacBook Pro with a 250 GB hard drive and I'm running dangerously low on free space. I was wondering if anyone knows of an application that will list the files on my computer and tell me how much space there taking up so I know what I should delete. Thanks for the help. :-)

Hello, I will unfortunately be forced to run Windows on my mac. However, I am totally clueless about this process. What is the best way to go about this? I will be installing NVDA as my Windows screen Reader of choice. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi I am looking at buying a 2013 Mac book air with the I5 processer, 8 gig of ram and 256 gig hard drive. My question is with this set up is it powerful enough to run windows 7 with Dolphins Supernova screen reader? I will be using Windows mainly to work with Microsoft Office and the Mac OS to do everything else. Thanks

Hi all,

Like many others on here, I've become increasingly frustrated by the VoiceOver experience on macOS and am wondering what the best and most accessible option is for running Windows and NVDA on my MacBook Air.

I know there are a few options like Parallels and VMWare, but I'm not sure which is optimal for accessibility and use with NVDA. Are there any major pitfalls or issues I should be aware of when running Windows on an Apple Silicon Mac, especially relating to using NVDA?
