Hi all
I am looking for ways to run Windows apps on MacOS. I tried CrossOver and it is inaccessible. Wine is no longer an option on the mac. What are some other accessible ways to run Windows apps, far from virtualisation.
TIA

Hello.
Does someone know if AUDIOGAMES manager works on m1 Mac? I think that's probably the easiest way to run older AUDIOGAMES on m1 hardware. thanks.

Greetings all you OS X gurus, I love my Mac and kind of hate to do this, but I need the best of both worlds for college right now without lugging around two computers. I have no idea what I'm doing at this stage, so beg asking the question: Dual-boot or VM? A bit of background: Running a MacBook Air top 2011 model with a 128 GB internal. This is no problem, since I keep all big files on other external drives.

Hi everyone,

I'm considering switching to a Mac Mini for my Windows needs by running Windows on ARM through VMware Fusion (or a similar hypervisor). I’d like to avoid Parallels because of the recurring subscription cost.

For those using a similar setup, how well does it work for you?
I’m particularly interested in NVDA's performance as well as the audio latency.

If audio is delayed, I'll write this off immediately, which is one of the reasons I'm asking.

Thanks for the help.

Hi all,

I'm looking into how I can run Windows on my Mac, I need Windows for some programming stuff at college and putting it on my Mac will be far easier than switching devices. I've made one of my memory sticks bootable and installed a Windows 7 ISO file on there, so my question is, can I just boot up my Mac from the USB now and Windows will work, or do I still need Bootcamp for it to actually run? If I do need Bootcamp or any other components, could someone give me some instructions on getting them set up?

Hi all!
I recently, as of yesterday in fact, acquired for myself a new M1 Mac Mini. I love it so far, but I have one question. Is there an accessible way to run a windows virtual machine on an m1 mac? Everything I've read online suggests Parallels Desktop, but I can't seem to get past a screen that just says something about an ID toolbar.
Running windows on my mac isn't crucial, but there are a few games and muds that I would like to still play from time to time.
Thanks in advance!

I understand that Safari is Aweb browser but Does Apple have it's own search engine? if not, what web browser works best with Safari? Thanks

Hi everyone,
I'm using a 2020 MacBook Pro, the last Intel model before Apple switched to Apple Silicon, and I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing the same thing—or if these bugs from hell are still showing up on newer Macs as well.
At this point I'm frustrated enough that I'm seriously considering going back to Windows, which is something I never thought I'd say.

Hi all,

Today, after my Safari was updated to version 12.0, I opened my Gmail and was surprised to find that when I open an email, the whole email is just a "group". There's no way to read an email in the web interface anymore.

Has anyone else experience this? Is there a work around?

Thanks!

You'd scarcely believe it, but it's true: as so often happens, at some point a Safari update breaks accessibility on an earlier OS to which it's backported. Here on Sonoma on my 2020 iMac, with the latest Safari 26.1, I get dropped character announcements while typing, editing with the cursor keys is sometimes challenging (especially when dealing with fields that have autofill suggestions), and sometimes—much more than is usual—Safari just freezes (I get the dreaded "Safari Not Responding") and only quitting or killing the app and restarting it brings it back.

Apple today has released safari 8.02. According to MacRumors, The release notes for Safari 8.0.2 are identical to those for Safari 8.0.1 except for the addition of a line noting the problems with the 8.0.1 release.

Quote:

- Fixes a rare issue in which some users were unable to access Safari after installing the 8.0.1 update.
Other bundled changes from Safari 8.0.1 include fixes for syncing history across devices, autofilling saved passwords, WebGL performance on Retina displays, and Firefox username and password import.

Hi all. I've asked this before I think, so I'm sorry I can't find the solution if there is one. I will be on any random site, and out of nowhere, it will shift focus from whatever I read, to the show sidebar. Can this be stopped? It's very annoying. I'm on the 12.6 version of Monteray

Hi all. I visit this website daily. He has tech stuff on everything from instant pots, to thermostats, to Bluetooth speakers. Here's the problem that trips me up. If I click on a post's heading, say something like how to set up your Google speaker, I'm presented with an add of some sort. Using all the navigation I can, sometimes I can close the add, sometimes not. Now I did click on this same link, that is a title btw, and somehow it went to the content and I was fine.

Hi all. I know this might sound silly, but i just notieced it. I upgraded, I didn't do a clean install of OS10 Would that be the reason why I don't have that clicking, link sound that i just heard on the podcast about the new changes to voice over? And if I can have it somehow, well, how? :) Thanks, just noticed like I said. And no this isn't somehuge monumental thing but i was curious.

I recently played a podcast on my MacBook Pro. Now everytime I open Safari the same podcast plays again. I can not find the controls to stop it. I also changed the web page and re-opened Safari and could not get the podcast to stop? Can anyone help?

Hello

I recently noticed that I could not access some search boxes on some websites includeing this site. After visiting a few other sites that I had used the search feature on in the past and finding that they did not work either, I tried the sites again using Google Chrome and had no trouble with any of the search boxes on any sites.

Has anyone else had a problem using search boxes and Safari?

I am currently running Safari 9.0.1.

Could it be a setting either in VO or Safari that I changed?

Thanks

Hi all. I've asked before, no one has been forthcoming, so here goes. Again. When i log into certain websites, my computer seems to freeze. In other words, after logging in, I try to tab through and i hear "ignoring next key press" The keyboard is unresponsive, the only way to fix this is to close the lid, reopen then after putting my Mac password in, things are fine. I noticed this behavior with amazon, honey, even Apple vis when I logged in. If anyone can help, this would be great. i noticed it more in the newest Mac. I have about a six year old Mac book pro.

I upgraded to Mohave a few weeks ago. It seems like Safari is busy a lot more often, now. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there any way to wake it up without closing the app?

Post Date:
These Safari Busy messages annoy me. They seem to happen when reloading a page. For example, go to http://startpage.com and enter a query. Then reload the page a few times and it'll lock up and you'll have to use Command-w to close the window. Apple just released the 10.6.1 update, I really hope it helps, though I don't think it does. I still love my Macs! I just figured I'd get the ball rolling with a post about something current.
