Since updating to Mac OS 26, I have noticed an annoying behaviour when opening a web page in Safari. Many times, when I type an address in the address field and press Return, I am not immediately put in the web page. Sometimes, I am in the toolbar and have tostop interacting and VO right or left until I hear VO say web content. Then, I can interact and start navigating the page. Previously, when I entered a web address and pressed return, I would immediately be focussed in the web content.
Is there a setting I can change to fix this.
Thanks
Mac
Hello all, Are there keyboard commands for getting to your favorites in Safari on the Mac? Thanks for any help. Greg Wocher
I've been seeing very odd behavior with current Safari on Mac. I've been trying to figure out exactly what's happening. I hope someone else is seeing similar odd behavior and we can somehow quantify it for a bug report to Apple.
Okay, this issues are really starting to give me a massive migraine to the point where I want to throw my MacBook out of the window and just buy an old 2001 windows laptop! LOL.
So I have an issue with Safari, well, actually double trouble issue.
When I type on the web page, and press the answer key, When I press control option shift down arrow on the webpage, press, VoiceOver plus right key to get me forward.
But it seems like it gets stuck.
I pressed VoiceOver plus up and it goes back.
Hi all,
I've been looking for a website which offers push notifications through Safari to give updates on scores from major football leagues. For example, Barclays Premier League, Serie A, Primera etc. I haven't had any success. Wondering if any of you have found something? There are loads for iOS, but I've found nothing for the Mac. I'm using the latest version of Mavericks.
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers!
Hi.
Does anyone know how to use the safari reader on the Mac? I went to a article and was unable to get the reader to come up.
Hi all. Running the latest version of Mac OS, not in a beta, though I am in the program. Recently, safari will act strange when I close the window. I know the address bar shouldn't be visible unless i hit command L, but I hear an address spoken. So when I hit command W, i hear, "open http://" and then an address i had used. Nothing in my favorites or anything, but I wonder if anyone has seen this. Thanks for any help. P.s. When I say the window is closed, I am saying that the Safari aplication is open, but there are no windows.
Safari will sometimes skip elements on some websites. I noticed this when trying to get information from my medical insurance website. I was looking for my coverage limits and, when I opened the section, Voiceover read the paragraph before the limits, and when I pressed either VO right arrow, or just pressed the down arrow, I would be place immediately after the information. However, when I opened the page using Google Chrome, I could read all the elements on the page. I am concerned because I am not sure if I am missing important information on other websites.

Hi all,
I have just updated Safary to 7.1, and I have noticed something curious... Now, when I press arrow keys inside a web page, it seems I can read text (and select text, pressing shift plus arrows), sometimes it is not.... consistent, I mean, it's not exactly the same as you may expect reading the page by classic voiceover commands...
Have you noticed it? Do you know how to use it properly? or it's just something weir that happens due some minor change in safary that was not intended to act this way.
Hello AppleVis,
Is any other Safari user using Google Search engines having a situation where when you search now all you see in the results is just the URL. Doesn't state the title and heading 3.
I noticed it today, and it's leaving me confused, because I can't make sense of my search with just a URL.
Any suggestions to fix would be greatly appreciated.
Chuck
Since upgrading to Safari v15 on Mac, I encounter VoiceOver announcing "busy" much more frequently. My specific version is 15.0 (16612.1.29.41.4, 16612).
Hello hope all is well. Comparing Safari vs Chrome for Mac, which one do you use? I'm thinking about switching from Safari to Chrome.
One other question is is it possible to import all data from Safari to that browser?
Thank you so much
With Icloud keychain supposed to work in other browsers now in mac os, I'm curious as to what people have experienced with Edge on Mac os, both relating to accessibility as well as performance. I'm running very old hardware, and even on new macs with Apple chips, Safari is busy, busy, busy. Is Edge any better in this regard? I quite like it on the Windows side, so if it's any good on mac os, it wouldn't take much to convince me to switch over.
Thanks in advance everyone for your feedback.
hi all, i'm using mac from past 3 months and i regularly use Safari browser for my browsing some of my college study portal, some websites like applevis etc. as i'm continuously seeing some of the post on this website regarding bugs in Safari browser and as I also experienced sluggishness while browsing the sites, so, wanted to no which brouzer people are using on mac to serf the internet. just now I have installed chrome and i'm feeling like its better than safari.
Hi i currently have a DSL modem and safari can't open the config page.
i can access it through chrome.
is safari blocking it or something?
i have no trouble logging into the page on google chrome
On a Mac, using Safari with VoiceOver, how do you handle pop up dialogs? If focus doesn't automatically jump to the first element of the pop up (often, it does not), and instead remains in the underlying web content, how do you even know the pop up is there?
I'm talking about legitimate pop up dialogs that websites commonly use to confirm actions. They are an integral part of using a website and can't be blocked like pop up ads. We must be able to interact with these dialogs in order to effectively use many common websites.
Hi Everyone,
Is there a short cut key for Opening a link in a new Tab in Safari for Voice Over user?
Command plus Mouse Click for non-VO users. Is there a corresponding short cut for this for VO users?
Thanks!
