I was wondering if there's a shortcut of some sort to remove recents from the recent calls list in FaceTime on Mac OS 10.12? I know i can go to the recent calls list, bring up the context menu and select remove all recents, but that's not really the bet way to remove these recent calls. So I figured I'd ask here if there was a shortcut I could use to do this.
Hey all, I have a really annoying problem going on over here with my new macbook air 13 inch 2020 system, and was hoping maybe that one of you might know whatg's changed, as I'm still very very new to Big Sur, and have only been using it for a short time. I'm more familiar with Catalina, but undoubtedly Apple's changed things a bit, or God forbid, really indeed has broken something epicly.
Hey y'all. Does anybody know how to remove A third-party widget you've installed to your dashboard? I am running the latest version of Mavericks and I can't figure it out. I tried to go to the /library/widgets folder and delete it, but it's not showing up. Please help. Thanks.:-)
Hi all. I've just updated my Mac to Mac OS26, and i notice several random widgets have appeared on my desktop screen (the one that's there just after logging in) that were not there before the update. Although some may find these random photo and calendar widgets useful, i personally find them a nuisance. How do i go about removing them please, relying solely on voiceover? I can't find anything obvious to me. Thanks in advance.
So after finally modernizing my office and moving things off my desk to some shelving units, I was able to pull out my old Bose Companion 2 speakers and connect them to my M4 Mac Mini using a uGreen USB-C male to 3.5 mm female adapter.
Hello,
I closed a conversation in the messages app using Mac OS. I can't find a way to reopen it. There is no recent items on the menu. I also need to print the conversation. How do I do this using a printer connected via USB?
how does one successfully reorder songs in a plalist in iTunes for the mac using os X 10.9? they talk about drag and drop but there's gotta be a better way. Thanks!
I was just wondering if there is a way to reorder songs inside of a playlist in iTunes? I've tried VO+, and to mark, drag and drop but it does not work
Does anyone know how to reorder tabs in MacOS Safari?
I've tried going to the tab in the tab bar, then hitting VO+Command+accent. VoiceOver tells me "tab cannot be moved". I'm not sure why. Sighted people can move the tabs by dragging them with the mouse. There must be a way to do this accessibly.
Hi all, I could really use your help. So I erased my mac, and now when I'm trying to restart it, but it's got a big Questionmark on the screen. I researched it, and the startup disk is damaged. I can't even turn on Voiceover. Does anyone know how to fix this without Voiceover?
Hello, not sure where to put this so mods if you feel this is in the wrong place, feel free to move. Anyone had any experiences with partitioning a bootcampt drive? The last thing I wanna do is having to re due my bootcamp all over again, even if I back everything up. Have you had experiences using either win clone, many tool partition or any other tools to get the job done? Plus I don't wanna break anything when doing this. Thanks in advance.
I am using voice-over on a macbook. Latest macos version.
When not using my laptop for a while, voice-over will pronounce 'authentication window'. After one minute this message is repeated.
This is unwanted when you do a presentation and do not touch the keyboard for a while or when you listen to music.
In systems settings I tried to change some timeout settings for screensaving of battery usages but this did not change the behaviour.
Every minute I keep on having the 'authentication' voice-over message.
I am working on a large .txt document that I am trying to clean up. I have some places in the text that I would like to remove some hard returns. I know I can use find/replace to do this, but I don't want to do it to the entire document.
What I was thinking was an AppleScript that would copy selected text, run the find/replace on that selected text, and then literally replace that text with the modified text.
Can feedback assistant be used without using a beta? I was going to say on stable versions but I honestly couldn't bring myself to.
Apple accessibility told me to as I was expressing my frustrations with how long it took to submit bug reports to them. But when I open it, I seem to be forced to enrol for the beta program or enrol as a developer. If I go with the beta option, can I just ignore beta updates and just use this to report feedback or is it going to start downloading betas?
Hi everyone. Are there any apps a blind person can use to reprogram Mac trackpad gestures? I realize VoiceOver allows programming gestures on your trackpad, but VoiceOver does not allow reprogramming gestures that don't also require using control, option, shift and command. I need to use my trackpad away from my keyboard. Having to press these additional keys would not work for me.
Dear all,
Please let me know about an accessible FLV player for playing FLV files downloaded from YouTube. I have lot of such files and I will have to make use of them at my work place.
I tried MK player from Apstore and I didn't find it to be very accessible. VLC player is not playing these files either.
So looking an accessible solution for my requirement.
In a couple of months I'll be sending my novel to agents. Currently I use Ulysses for composition which works really well to navigate the 85 K word manuscript. I can write in markdown and then export to a nice clean word file... Great... all well and good.
The problem I foresee, and have experienced in the past, is feedback, namely in line comments in the word file. During my MA I had a lovely PA who would decant this nuggets of genius into a document which I could use as a reference but, alas, my university days are over and I'm on my own.
as you may know, the new Macs with the M1 chip allow standard iOS or iPadOS apps to run on these new Macs with a little effort from the developers part. This opens a whole new possibilities regarding app accessibility on Mac, since we can now, in macOS, run mobile apps which so far have been truly accessible only on iOS or iPadOS, for example Voice Dream Reader, Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp. When operating these apps, we can thus enjoy the benefits of using the desktop computer, like easily switching between apps or sharing the clipboard.
Trying to organise my writing notes a little and though I do have them in ulysses, I'd like a separate app to keep the thoughts and plans in.
As I say in subject line, like most of Apple's own apps, accessibility isn't great. it's convoluted and doesn't work well with voiceover.... Now, there's a shock...
I've tried Bear but found that it doesn't read the title of the note, only the relative time it was created. It's a shame as the app seems good apart from that.
