Dear Apple vis members,
I'm Govind from India. I'm using Macbook air 2017 model with the latest Mac os. I also have an HP 126 NW all in one printer. It provides pthe services of printing, scanning and photocopy. I'd like to scan using my mac and the above mentioned printer. Can any one suggest me the way to do so?
I also would like to use fine reader for scanning. How far it is accessible? I couldn't find out some details in the appstore. Do they offer a trial version of the software?

Hello to all. I have my computer turn on every morning monday to friday at 6:05 am. All is good and the schedule looks right but my computer starts up at midnight right at 12 am! My time zone is set correctly as that's the first thing I checked when I sleepily got out of bed to see what happened. I have a mbp 13 inch mid 2009 running mavericks. Take care and thoughts? This is driving me nuts and I need my sleep. lol!

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to schedule an email on MacOS with VoiceOver? I know you can schedule on iOS, but I'm not sure how to do it on MacOS. Any help could be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to help a colleague who uses VoiceOver on a Mac and works in a large corporate environment where Microsoft Outlook is the standard email and calendar solution.
In Outlook for Mac, sighted users can easily schedule a meeting and use the Scheduling Assistant to find a time slot when all invited participants are available. With a mouse, this seems quite straightforward.
However, we have not been able to find an accessible way to do the same thing with VoiceOver.
My questions are:

Hi People,
I have found a little funny game witch called Screaming Strike 2
The first version was just available for windows, but the second version is available for MacOS and Windows.
Here is the Link to the Game:

Screaming Strike 2 is available for Mac. I thought this was worth mentioning here as there is no mac app entry for this game. The game is absolutely free to download. Head to www.audiogames.net and select the "updates" link. The entry for Screaming Strike 2 is there. Unfortunately, the developer's website is completely in Japanese, otherwise I would have attempted to post a mac app entry. I recommend people give this a try. I absolutely love it.

Hello,

Now that I’ve gotten used to screen curtain and learned to fully appreciate it’s function, does anyone know if OSX has it? If it does, how do I turn it on? IF there isn’t, is there an app that would blank out my screen while I’m using it? I can’t tell if someone is looking over my shoulders so having screen curtain on my mac would be great. I’ll be using a headset so I can be discrete.

Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Hello,

Has anyone who uses screen curtain noticed a difference in the battery life if you turn the display brightness all the way down, turn the keyboard brightness completely down and then turn on screen curtain?

Is there a way to use an external keyboard or braille display and close the laptop without having it go to sleep? Allowing work to be done still without the laptop actually being open?

Thank You
Jennifer

for those of you who use Screenflow like I do, if your using a version before 5.0.7 you may think your recording is working however when you conclude your recording you may notice that your document did not record.
Screen flow provided me with a link to download the latest 5.0.7 version, however this required a signup to there site with an inaccessible captcha.
They then provided me the following tweet when i requested a direct download, and i hope this helps you.

Hi everyone. I'm planning on buying a MacBook. Before I do I have some questions. I know Apple's Voiceover is accessible with a variety of apps from Apple. What's the level of accessibility of Voiceover with Google Products such as Google Slides, Google Chrome, Google Docs, Google Forms and other Google Drive related apps? Does it only support reading these things or also from Creating documents to Writing to adding tables Etc to Formatting to comprtely finishing the Document?

Hi All, I'm looking for a Mac app for screen recording. The built in one in QuickTime isn't working too well for me so I want to find a good accessible third party solution, hopefully without spending too much. There are loads of them in the Mac App Store, many with the same name, so it's hard to know which to try and I don't want to waste money on an inaccessible or difficult to use app. I tried one called Screen Cap but i I'm not quite sure how to use it, and the support link in the App Store takes you to a web page that no longer exists. Any help appreciated.

Hello Applevisers Kaushik here from India, I am looking for a good screen recording app on MacBook. I tried with OBS. I am not able to add the system audio to OBS. Recommend me a good screen recorder for MacBook, which is accessible with VoiceOver.

Hi,
I'm looking to set up screen sharing on my Mac,. I've manage to set it up in system preferences, so that users can ask me for permission to share my screen. I also enable Bonjour in the accounts section i n messages preferences.
I have all the correct options checked in the video menu in the messages menu bar. However, the buttons to request to share someone's screen are still dimmed. Is there anything I can do to help with this?

Hi Everyone,

When I choose an app to share on Zoom, how can I quickly access that app and interact with it? It's so easy using JAWS, but I find the process more difficult using VO. I end up accidentally moving my VO focus to the desired app. Any help and suggestions you can offer will be much appreciated – thanks!

Hello All, I have a totally blind friend who just got a MacBook Air about 2 days ago. I'm trying to help him set up a few basic things (like telling VoiceOver to come on at the log in screen, etc.) and he is having trouble pressing the right key commands, etc. so it's becoming increasingly difficult to accomplish things by trying to tell him what to do. It would be much easier if I could simply control his mac. I know Apple has screen sharing, and the ability for ssh, but I didn't know if VoiceOver was compatible with either sharing method.

Hello,

I'm wondering why this site could not propose a category to share AppleScripts to help the community...

I'm in the process of learning AppleScript and Automator and I'm quite impressed of what it can do, especially if it's combined with voice commands or services...

Maybe such a site already exists or maybe the community doesn't think it's necessary?

Thanks for your eventual inputs...

Hi all,
Help needed with Scrivener. I am a PhD student and have recently bought Scrivener and wondering if one can help me in this. I am trying to find a template that simulates the structure of a thesis/dissertation.
Normally the structure is chapters divided to sections, like 1.1 introduction, 4.1 application, 6.9 Summary. It has to support referencing and table of contents. Can you suggest something similar to that in the templates list? Or is there a way to create a template that may be useful to write PhD thesis/dissertation?
THanks
