Hi all,
First of all, I am happy to have Siri on the Mac. Although, while VoiceOver reads everything in the Siri conversation window, it lacks in terms of interaction with the results in that window, for instance:
Hi All, I just updated to MacOS Sierra, just had a quick Query. When Siri displays results in the Siri Window, how do we activate the intended selection? (Web Address, for instance)?
I really like Apple's Siri voices, and even more so that we can use them with VoiceOver. I haven't tried this on iOS, but at least on the Mac, Siri voices don't pause for certain punctuation marks. Or if they do, it's random. For example, commas. Or if there's numbers after a period (e.g. 24% battery power. 5 hours and 43 minutes remaining until empty. Gets read as: 24% battery power 5 hours and 43 minutes remaining until empty.). Is there a workaround for this? It makes reading feel almost unnatural.
Hi all,
Apologies for the cross-posting. I have been facing rather a troubling issue with my Siri Voices on Big Sur, particularly British Male and Female Siri Voices.
I do not know how to say this in technical jargon, but the issue I am facing is this:
I am unable to adjust desired speed of these Siri Voices, they simply refuse to be adjusted. They are stuck on the factory settings of their speed, Which, to tell you the truth, I am not even about to guess, it is awfully slow, at any rate.
Hi all,
Apologies for crossposting (if someone has already covered this topic before, though I could not find any information on it).
I am using MBP 2017, with MacOs 11.2.3 (the latest software update from Apple).
The issue I have been facing since the last OS is that my British and American Siri voices (which I tend to use as my VO voices) are failing to change their speaking rate. . Despite my attempts to change rate, they remain obstinately slow.
I performed number of troubleshooting tasks:
VO keyboard help says that VO+Command+p finds next plane text, with no style attribute. When I use it on webpages in Safari, though, it brings me to text that's headings, text that's links, and so on. Am I not understanding what this keystroke is supposed to do, or is it not working?
Has anyone else noticed VoiceOver failing to read words, phrases, or entire sentences while composing and reviewing an email message in the native Mac Mail client? Arrow back over the text and VoiceOver reads it correctly. I've been on Sequoia for over a week. The problem is sporadic and rare, but it has happened often enough that I know I'm not hallucinating.
Hi. Just found out on twitter that skype 7.0 for mac is out and the ui has been redone. Is it still accessible and if not, how do I stop my mac from auto updating it so I can stay on the previous skype version? Thank you.

hello there,
Just a few days ago I noticed my skype started acting weirdly when I was in a call. When in the conversation of the person I'm in a call with, the chat grid and the edit box disappear from view, and I have no idea on how to fix this. There seems to be no menu controls to change this behavior. Has anyone had that problem before?
hi all, thanks to thoughs who helped me with my last post. I don't like the native Skype client for Mac or iPhone, so please can any one recommend an alternative Skype clients for both Mac and iPhone??
your help with this question would be most welcome, kind regards trey.
Hi all.
So, I’m a fairly new mac convert but I’ve started to be comfortable with the mac for the most part. But Skype is really being a problem.
I’m sill not updated to Sierra and I use Skype for Mac 7.37.
I’ve always loved Skypes quick text chat on the PC. It sucked at times and we’ve had to fight to get it to that point where it works with Jaws and NVDA without fail.
I just started working at a company which uses Skype (the free version) as its main communication platform. The desktop app seems pretty accessible to me so far, but I've noticed a strange issue I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about. Every 20-ish seconds Voiceover will play an alert tone like the one you get when a dialog box pops up. I can never find a dialog box or anything else that would need attention, and since we stay signed in to Skype during the entire workday this is really starting to get to be a pain in the butt. Does anyone know what might be going on?
Hi,
I've looked around in my view settings and Skype preferences, and can't find anything that has been changed. Recently, my Skype started just saying the messages from people in the grid, not saying names unless I interacted. This is especially annoying in large Skype conferences where many people are talking at once.
Is there a way to reverse the chat grid so it acts like it used to?
Thanks
Hi everyone I seem to be having an annoying issue with Skype, since updating my Mac and downloading Skype it doesn't seem to work. Voiceover says Skype is running but when I focus on it voiceover says "Skype has no windows". I have no idea what is going on can anyone shed any light on this and perhaps solve my problem. Thanks in advance.
There's an accessibility mod for it.
https://github.com/Flameborn/InSpire
Anybody have setup tips, or know how to launch it with mods, once it's set up? On Windows there's a little script that does it for Say the Spire, but no idea how this will work.
In Speech Central, I am getting this notification just before the reading table:
To customize the threshold of Speed Reading Optimization go to Settings > Speech > Advanced Speech Style.
How to get rid of this notification? there is a close button but pressing it does nothing.
Thanks for any help.
Hi,
I need to be able to play certain parts of audio files in a loop and slow them down without changing the pitch. I thought this could be accomplished using Amazing Slowdowner which, reading on here, people like to use on their phones. I want to do this on my Mac and I'm having difficulty using Amazing Slowdowner. I can't seem to use either the edit boxes all the steppers to set where I want the loops to start and finish.
