Hi
Subject says it all. Is it possible to some how turn off the clicks when one is typing in a secure text field on mac? I have typing echo set to nothing, but the clicks still remain.
On a related note, if anyone has a fix for the same thing in iOS, it'd be greatly appreciated (though let me know if cross posting would be prefered).
Hey everyone. I'm wondering if there's a way to turn off the feature which suggests possible corrections while typing? I've checked but can't find it anywhere, or perhaps I've overlooked this feature somehow. Thanks.
I've spent the last week or so building a new screen reader for the Mac, called TurnOver. I've been pretty vocal about how poorly VoiceOver now behaves in some apps: Mail, Safari, Terminal and Microsoft Word. So I built something to take over in exactly those apps. The aim is no more unexpected behaviour in Mail, more consistent reading and control in Terminal, a Word that behaves itself, and fewer "Safari not responding" announcements.
Greetings:
I just "inherited" my daughter's old Mac Book Pro after having it repaired. It is running OS X 10.6.8. She has a lot of her college data and software on it, much of which is inaccessible. I'd like to bak it up and then update the OS on a clean disk so I can simplify the Mac environment while i learn how to use it.
A friend said there is a tutorial on how to update the OS X version and install it on the Mac with a clean install and of course, using VoiceOver. Unfortunately he doesn't remember where this tutorial is located.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks.
I've noticed this behavior ever since updating to macOS sequoia.
If I go to watch a show in the TV app on my mac, whether the show is from Apple tV Plus or Paramount Plus, both of which I subscribe to through the tV app, I am no longer immediately presented with the audio described version of the content. It is necessary for me to find the audio pop up button, and choose english AD. This step should not be necessary, as I have audio descriptions enabled under system settings.
Trying to install Tweesecake on an m2 Mac. When I can get it to where it will open but that's all it will do. Any further attempts to launch the app just get me a Tweesecake is not responding message. I have not had this problem with any other app. I checked system Dialogs, nothing there. Also checked Privacy and Security and I am set to allow apps from the App Store.
I an using the latest version of Sanoma and the latest version of the app despite the Mac insisting said app needs an update.
Hi everyone happy New Year hope you're all doing well and staying safe. Does an audio walk-through for tweesecake on Mac OS X exist? I'm a complete beginner and want to learn how to use it and I think in this case an audio walk-through may be best. Thanks for your help everyone hope to hear from you soon :-)
Hi,
I've just recently begun getting into twitter, and I have heard several times on the podcast about Tweetings. I have it for my iPhone, and that one seems to be working correctly. The OS X version however, seems to have a bug. When I open it, Voice Over becomes very sluggish, and I hear "busy" whenever I try to hit keys. All in all i cannot use it at all at this point. Any suggestions on who to remedy this?
Hello to all. I was wondering if tweetings for mac osx is accessible right down to viewing followers of you and everybody else. I'm looking for a client similar to yorufukurou as it is misbehaving with my system and going non responsive, plus the app has not been updated since february of 2013 and the dev did promise he would fix some stuff.
Hi, all. I get immediate notifications for Twitter in Night Owl, but how do i review the ones in Twitter, such as who has followed me, etc? Is this all done in the notification center, or is there an interface in Night Owl that will show this info? Thanks.
Could someone please point me to a guide or reference for how to accessibly use the twitter.com website in Safari on Mac OS? Yes, I know I could use an app like Easy Chirp or NightOwl, or something on iOS, but the Twitter website claims it is accessible. I'd love to see an overview. Thanks for any help.
I just got a new MacBook Air for Christmas and I love it. However, it is a bit of steep learning curve from using JAWS with Windows. I just purchased Twitterific to be able to use Twitter. I previously used The Qube with Windows.
I have a question about setting up Twitterific. When I start the program, a blank wind pops up with the phrase authenticate with Twitter. The only button I can click is Close. Does anyone know how to authenticate Twitter with Twitterific.
It's probably something simple for people more proficient with the Mac than me. Thanks.
hi
I am trying to report a bug that I have noticed on the latest version of Mac OS> I am running a Mac book Air early 2014.
I am running Mojave version 10.14.1 the bug I am experiencing is this:
when in the log in screen I have my voice set to Karen compact but for some reason the compact Daniel voice is still speaking certain aspects such as when entering text on the log in screen. I double checked and my voice is not set to "automatically based set on language" option.
Hi there!
Since getting my first Mac last year, there has always been 2 bugs that's kind of frustrating while browsing the web in Safari with VO, and I have yet to find a solution to them. Of course there's more than these 2, but they have all been mentioned before, so I wont bother you with repeating it once more here... :)
The first is when opening a new website, the VO focus doesn't always automatically interact with the html-content. So I'll have to find the place where it says html-content and interact with it to get into the actual content of the website.
I noticed there are two Macintosh HDs on my Macbook Pro - one is named "Macintosh HD volume" and another "Macintosh HD data volume" while I was learning to navigate on my braille device. Macintosh HD data is empty when I opened it to find out what it's for.
Is this standard for Mac computers? Or should I just have my laptop's hard drive wiped out and re-installed?
I have noticed two bugs for VoiceOver in MacOS 26.0.1. I have already reported this to Apple using the feedback website (https://www.apple.com/feedback), but would encourage anyone reading this to see if they experience the same issues and independently report it to Apple as well if so. In addition, I would like to hear any comments from you if you are experiencing these and any work arounds you may have found. The two issues are as follows:
Hi all. Since restoring to Yosemite, i've found two strange things. First, I have an HP deskjet 6940 printer. I keep seeing the update come across, saying I need version 3.0 for the printer software. Keep in mind the printer wasn't connected. Anyway every time i install it, maybe a day later, I see one update, and that's what it is. Anyone have any idea? Second, whenever i write anything with a B either in a text field like this, or any other site, Voice over won't saythe letter B when I backspace over it.
Working with someone trying to get their mac up and going. Two weird things.
1. Have set VoiceOver to come on at log on through System Preferences, Screen Lock, Accessibility, VoiceOver, made sure it was ON and hit Done. But the setting doesn't stick. It works once or twice and then reverts back to no VoiceOver at logon.
2. The word "Authentication" seems to randomly appear sometimes and blocks the user from logging in. VO+Left Arrow or VO+Right Arrow doesn't move to anything else and the computer beeps.
Hi; I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with deleting programs from launchpad. Mine is a bit of a mess, showing stuff that I don't need or applications that have already been deleted or moved. Is there a way to remove these from launchpad? Also, can anyone tell me how to find and restore old email messages from time machine? I deleted an email message but have backed older messages up to time machine. I select the date I want but can't figure out how to retrieve the emails. Where are they located? Thanks for the help.
Hi all.
So i reinstalled mac os 10.10. I really am enjoying it so far.
I did wonder two things though:
I am trying to tell voiceover to allow apple script to control it. Did they manage to break this feature in the latest 10.10.3 build/
Also, in pages, are you able to use templates to fill in information?
Thanks for any help.
