So, I need a hand. My computer's language is english. I have to work with worksheets on numbers that are in spanish. Th worksheet's language is set to spanish. Automatic language switching is turned on but, I open the worksheet in spanish but, the voice doesn't change and it’s driving me a bit crazy. Is there any way to fix this? I'm using eloquence reed for both english and spanish. If someone has a fix i'd greatly appreciate it because I cant find out how to make it work.

Hi all,

I'm trying to configure a VO activity for the Numbers application. I have defined row and column headers in a sheet, but no matter what settings I tweak VO won't automatically read them.

Essentially what I'm trying to do is:

Is it possible? A friend's new MacBook does it, and she swears she didn't set up anything special. All I ever get is the standard sound, which, even at the best of times, is low for my not-so-good-any-more hearing. If it's possible to have messages automatically spoken by VoiceOver as they are received, I'd be grateful to know how.

Thanks in advance.

For quite some time, I've found Zoom's automatic announcements such as chat messages, who enters or leaves the meeting, or who is sharing his or her screen to be quite annoying. Most of these announcements occurred especially when I would command-tab away from the main Zoom window to check on another application. I could never find a way to disable these unwanted announcements.

Is it possible to automatically toggle quick nav on and off? There are two situations I'd like to do this.
1. When entering a form field I'd like to be able to start typing the same way I can with NVDA on Windows.
2. Is it possible to enable quick nav in Safari when ever the Safari window gets focus, and disable it when leaving Safari? I often forget to disable it and then half my keystrokes don't get sent to the terminal when I switch to it.

Hi everyone, I have been using GarageBand for quite a while now, and I have had an easy enough job figuring out the program. However, no matter what I try I have not been able to figure out any way of using automation. For example, I need to be able to write automation to a track so that it fades in and out. Am I missing something obvious, or is automation inaccessible in the Mac version of GarageBand ?

I would very much appreciate any info.

Thanks

Hi all,
is there any way to make VoiceOver speak the names of the variables while using Automator? It wouldn't say the actual names, only some symbols.
Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to create an automator script. VO+comma and period don't work to add actions, throwing the old "failed to drop" error. Mouse down and mouse up successfully added the first action to the workflow, but I can't add a second action this way. Help?

Hi all. when I was showing a relative something, I was shutting down the comp. It restarted automatically. How can I change this? I would love to know if I can change it.

Hi,
I am trying to use the back to my mac feature, it lets you access files on another mac. Has anyone successfully used this feature? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all,

Does anyone know if Back to My Mac is usable with VoiceOver? I am just curious but can't test it as the other Mac I have can only run Snow Leopard and earlier.

Hey,
So partly because of me testing Tahoe, and just because I noticed the experience even on the web is much smoother, I am back to the good old standard grouping behaviour of VoiceOver on Mac.

I have a Mac running Catalina. I tried to buy the backup protection in BackBlaze. The payment info was presented in a table. I could not select the right plan or enter any credit card info. I tried with quick nav on and off.
I have run into this problem on other sites. Is there a secret to typing in those tables?

Hi all,
I got a Mac about a month ago but I've been away from home without an external drive to back it up on. However, I am home now and I've been wondering. Is there any way for me to back it up wirelessly?
Any thoughts/tricks would be welcome.
Thanks.

It has just come up on my MacBook Air that the latest software update is some sort of update that checks your flashdisk. Apparently Apple have found that a small percentage of the Flashdisks have a problem that could result in them having data loss. this update checks your flashdisk and installs any firmware to fix it if needed. That's what I gathered anyway from the description. When I go to install it it mensions that I need to backup my flashdisk to an external drive before installing the update. I don't have an external drive that has enough memory to do a full backup.

Hello, I done a backup from an IPhone five yesterday. Today I wanted to restore it to the six plus, but it only did half of the backup. Any idea why? I am new to mac, and I saw when I did the backup from the five, that it was saved under devices under ITunes settings, but I don't no how to get the apps from the device on to the mac in ITunes. I did press on transfer purchases.

I have been copying CD's onto my PC. I was under the impression that these were being backed up to ICloud, but I'm not sure. When I connect my phone to the PC to do a back-up, I get a message telling me that I should first back up before I move ahead with transferring data between the phone and the PC. How do I ensure that the CD's I copy on my PC are backed up to the cloud so that they will then back up to my IPhone? (I hope this is the correct forum for this question; I looked around and this seems like the most likely place, but I'm a tad unsure of that.)

I have my documents, music and whatever files manually backed up on multiple external devices, so I am not worried about losing them. But how does it all work if the Mac should crash and need a clean install of OSX? Windows machines have a partitioned hard drive which you can boot to and recover to factory settings and you can make recovery CD's. My research so far, says you can't make recovery CD's for a Mac. But does it have a partitioned recovery system? I know that time machine can back up files and settings to an external hard dtive, but does this include Mac OS?

Hi all. Just wanted to let some people in on what the skinny is with Backup and Sync. I'm one who tried to uninstall the program more than twice, reinstall the thing, and yet I can't get a system dialogue to show up to where it says, this folder or that folder, missing, whatever. I am trying to put the synced files into a new google drive folder I created on the finder. But I'm having a hard time with Backup and Sync, and I don't know if Google made it more user friendly or what, but when I open the thing, it is only showing an empty window. Ugh.
