Does anyone know the command to hear selected audio on the Mac in Reaper? On PC it's alt-control-space. I'm reading all of the wonderful tutorials and guides and found the PC command but it did not list a mac equivalent.
Example, I select a small portion of a song to copy someware and want to hear the selection before copying.
Thanks.

Hi there,
It is a bug I firstly noticed last year when mac os catalina came out. When Voice over reads a longer text that has multiple sentences and I press control to let voice over stop reading, Voice over stops reading for a moment and after a while, it continues reading at the next sentence. Now, by the mac os big sur update, the behavior kept almost the same, but now, there is no break between the sentences. Voice over starts reading the next sentence immediately after I pressed control to stop reading.
For people who are more proficient in Word on Mac OS than I am: how would I go about accessing comments someone had added to my document? I have markup mode turned on, and at the moment I'm able to navigate to an area which contains a comment and either delete or resolve it via the context menu. Ironically, however, I can't find a way to read the comment itself ... no point in resolving anything unless I know what I need to do, right?
Hello everyone,
I have a problem with Word on macOS.
I need to work effectively with comments.
Do you know any shortcuts that would allow me to:
- reading the content of the comment from the document level.
- Reply to a comment from the document level.
- Reading who added a comment from the document level.
- Go to the next and previous comment in the document.
Maybe there are some other tips that will make my work more efficient?
Hello everyone. Recently, I've been trying out Microsoft Edge on Mac. I'm liking it so far... I've discovered it having a few things that Safari doesn't... also, it seems to load web pages a tad faster as well.
Have any of you tried out Edge on Mac and what do you think of it compared to Safari? Would you start using it as your main web client? My only thing is how to somehow copy all my saved passwords from Safari to Edge... If anyone knows how to do it, please let me know in the comments section.
Thank you so much.

Good afternoon,
My name is Vanessa and I have only just made my first account today. I have a quick question for everyone. I haven’t used a MacBook in about 10 years and have been using Windows mostly. However, I have noticed a few problems with my windows that have now necessitated me purchasing a MacBook Air With M1 chip since that’s easier within my price range.
I would be grateful if somebody could please explain to me where the touch ID sensor is on a MacBook Air? I have found information online but I don’t know how current it is. Does anyone have any Experience?
I just got a new M1 Mac Mini. I'd given up playing Amazon Prime Video in Safari, assuming my OS was too old to render it properly. I was somewhat puzzled and disappointed to find that Safari displays this player without button labels, the same as it did on my old machine. I installed Google Chrome, and the player buttons in that browser displayed very accessibly. I'm curious about what could be happening under the hood. I mean, this is all html5, is it not? Also, the Prime Video app displays the player in an accessible manner.
Recently something changed in Outlook and now it seems I can't really compose messages any more.
For example, I create a new message and then type in something with some line breaks. For example:
one
two
three
Now if I try to move my text cursor up and down the message it just reads from the top every time. So it is impossible to know where the cursor actually is.
Hey all,
so I have a MacBook Air M1 for a few weeks so I can test the ropes with it, if I like it enough, i guess I would go purchase the rumored MBP with the M1x or M2 chip, but that's another story.
I've been doing some research on the new M1 Macs. While doing this, I found something that makes mee worry about accessibility. On an intel Mac, we could just press and hold command+r to get to recovery. Now, with the new M1 chip, this has changed. Now you have to hold in the power button until a startup menu appears, then click an options icon. Based on the accessibility, or lack thereof, in the intel startup manager, this concerns me. How will those of us who use VoiceOver fix our computers if we can't even get to recovery?
Hi all,
Since the new M1 MacBook Pro is out now, I have a few questions and concerns about usability.
• Will apps running under Rosetta be accessible? And if so, how good or bad is it?
• When running iOS/iPadOS apps, can you navigate them with standard VO commands, or is it strictly just the Trackpad Commander?
Thanks in advance and have a nice day.
Hello! I am trying to use obs for mac for streaming. It is accessible except of some parts. How do i set my camera as a internal thing to show on screen of a viewer? Voiceover says obs has new window, but than when i try to go to that window it says busy. What should I do? How do i setup a camera in this app? Thank you!!!
Hi,
I'm really struggling to quickly type my most used diacritical marks–ʼ,á,é,í,ó,úā,ē,ī,ō,ū,ȧ,ȧ,...––because it interferes with some of my keyboard commanders. I keep changing which option key I use, but I'm always losing something in terms of convenience or utility.
I thought about using the sticky keys or slow keys feature, but this just causes an unnecessary set of problems or delays.
Does anyone use Confluence with VoiceOver? I'm finding it a bit of a nightmare.
When editing comment, the focus seems to jump randomly about. It seems unusable in Chrome, but sometimes doable in Safari. Maybe the problem iin part is because I can see things scrolling madly around even though maybe it's not really affecting it from a VoiceOver point of view.
Hi Guys I have only been a member of this website for just over 24 hours but already a little addicted. Very knowledgeable people who all have the same thing in common (visual impairment). I am looking at getting the latest Mac book air and I will want to put windows 7 on it to run Microsoft office. As a complete Mac virgin I have no idea how to do this using Bootcamp. I do have an OEM version of Windows 7 64gb and a 16GB USB memory stick. I guess my question is, how would I go about installing Windows if the Mac Book Air has no CD drive and only two USB ports.
I am currently editing documents using VoiceOver on the latest macOS. For those who handle document formatting with VoiceOver on Mac, which keyboard shortcuts do you rely on to obtain information about the cursor position, insertion point location, and similar details necessary for precise formatting?
I am a new Mac Yosemite user. Where do i find network conection settings? Someone set them for me twice but each time i shut down, i cannot connect to the internet as i have lost the settings. I assume there must be some tick box to make the settings remember and automatically connect. I would be grateful for any advice. (just migrated from windows)
so, I just realized one of the biggest reasons I don't like macos voiceover is text selection, I thought the voiceover+enter shortcut is completely broken, until someone told me that it isn't and he uses it in terminal a lot, I was surprised, so I tried, and yes, it does work, however.
I've noticed some qwerks, places where it works and it doesn't, and there is also another mode that confuses me, apparently, according to voiceover help, multiple selection mode or something? I don't understand that.
