Hello,
a seeing friend noticed a small area in mac finder, that appears whenever a network source is selected. There are two items "Connected user" und "connect as", where you can enter new connection information to the selected share - maybe the items are not exactly as I wrote: I trnslated from german.
The problem is: I cannot focus the connect-items with VO, they seem not to be accessible. Is there a way to make them accessible with VO? Where can I edit connection data alterenative?
thanks and best regards

After all companies increased there internal storage, some clients came to me with no flash memory, no Flash card, only there mobile that they need to take some data on it,
am talking about any android phone, or even old nokia, i tried connecting them to my mac to use them as a storage device, but my mac can not see any mobile at all,
do not suggest using any kind of links or FTp, because some people do not know anything about this,

Hi,
I am organising lots of events this month, and there is going to be KeyNote presentation. Can I connect my Mac Air 2015 11 Inches to data show projectors? Is there specific hub or cables I need to purchase to be able to get my presentations shown on the display? I also can access borrowed Macbook Pro 2012 13 Inches, in case my Mac Air does not have this connectivity option.
Thanks.

I'm trying to restore an iMac, and am running into a problem. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to connect it to wifi with Voiceover. I've tried the Vo-M/m but to no avail! I've done it before, so I know there's a way; I just don't remember it! Help, please!

Hello again!

I had a mac 15 years ago back in 2010. At the time I quickly went back to windows7 because of all the interacting and stop interacting I had to do with voiceover on the mac. It was like using NVDA object nav or the jaws touch cursor, constantly. Is it still the same today? Would I have to constantly interact with stuff going down several levels just to get at what I want? Or has voiceover improved and it is more like windows or Orca for linux where you mostly interact using something like the pc cursor?

I am in the process of evaluating moving to a Mac. I have been able to find the ansers to most of my questions on AppleVis. However, not relating to Quicken. Currently I'm using Quicken 2014 on a PC with Jaws. Want to know if anyone has had success with Quicken 2015 for the Mac using VO.

Obviously I can go the virtual machine route as I may do that for MS Office and Openbook.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone,

I would like to get some input from you guys. I am seriously getting tired of coming across inaccessible Windows apps, and am considering buying a Mac. Are there some things I should be aware of, such as Voiceover bugs that might prevent a visually impaired user from using the computer? Also, do you think apps are more accessible on the Mac than on Windows?

Thanks.

Hello all
I apologize for the long rambling post.
I've been fiddling around with a fully configured 17 inch macbook pro for the last few months and am

considering switching over for most if not all of my computer tasks. Part of the problem as others I'm

sure struggle with is that I've been using windows for around 20 years now and am 100 times more

efficient with it, using jaws, NVDA etc. I do understand that with time and practice, just as with

Hello everyone in the Applevis community. I am very delighted of becoming this community member. First and foremost, let me express my impression on MacBook computer.

Does anyone know how to easily clear notification that show up in notification center on Big Sur?
VoiceOver sometimes sees the clear button, but sometimes it doesn't especially when multiple notifications stacked from one app.
I was hoping for 11.3 to fix the problem, but it seems the same.

Hi there,

I place this under Mac, as it's primarily my Mac I am interested in. Does anyone have a great go-to app that is good at finding and presenting the news?

I am heavily considering Apple News plus, however, from the reviews and a quick look into it, it seems to be more magazine focused. I'm looking for more current events, both US and global.

I'm not interested in RSS feeds; I'm not willing to go after them and do the work. If you can convince me of a good RSS service and app, must be iOS and Mac accessible, I will consider it again.

I keep hearing this message, to get missing image descriptions, use the context menu. How do you access that on mac os?

Post Date:

Is there a way in macOS to show the context menu wherever the text cursor is? For example, if I was using a text editor with the mouse I might select some text, right click and choose Cut/Copy/Paste. In Windows there is a show context menu button on the keyboard. Is there an equivalent on the Mac?

I think VO+Shift+M will show a context menu, but I think it's tied to the VO cursor. This occasionally does what I want, but often it doesn't seem to work. But I'm thinking this is maybe not a VoiceOver question and that there would be a more general way to do it?

It's been months since the release of Safari v14, yet the many accessibility issues it introduced continue to go unaddressed in update after update.

VO+A doesn't reliably read a website. It fails if it encounters a paragraph with a link in the middle. It reads the first chunk of normal text, then the link, then it jumps back to re-read the first chunk of normal text, followed by the link again. If I'm lucky, it finishes with the concluding section of normal text, but more often it skips that entirely and proceeds to the following paragraph.
