Hello All. I was wondering if any of you have found a good accessible online backup solution.
I recently downloaded one called crashplan by code 42 software.
I found their app to be minimally accessible.
Have any of you tried it and if so maybe you could give me some pointers on using it, or is it not worth it at all.
I’ve also used carbonite in the past, but they only have one plan for mac users and as far as I remember, they don’t automatically back up all file types.
both services are around 5 dollars a month is you go for a year.

I apologise if this has been asked about previously.

When it is required for me to use google chrome for things on my Mac, I find it repeating lines twice when I use either the vo right or swipe right on the track pad commander. Is there a fix for this?

Before the suggestion of "use another browser" is thrown at me, it is a requirement for this one particular thing that I use Chrome, therefore, that is not feasible. I much prefer Safari and would use that if I was able!

Is there a Quick Start (or Getting Started) Guide for Chrome? I am running Yosemite with the current version of Chrome. I am familiar with V.O. and Safari, but having a few navigation issues with Chrome. Some things I am looking for are settings to enable, extensions to install, helpful hints or known quirks. If a podcast exists that would be great as I can run it in Safari and jump to Chrome and follow the steps.

hello,i wish to start using chrome on my mac running 10,14, but when i run it, i keep receiving popups such as is your mac slow? and other annoying adds, even though i have as far as i know, turned off adds and popups is this normal? do i have to enable accessibility within chrome settings, or is that just for chromevox, and can i use chromevox next, within mac osx? i like the sound of google chrome, seems less busy than safari. Hope someone can assist me Will ,

I recently downloaded Chrome after hearing so much about its speed. Can Chrome users tell me why they would use Chrome over Safari besides it being very responsive? Chrome lacks the Reader feature that I use a lot.

I'd love to hear from those who use Google Crome on the mac and whether you like it better than Safari. And if so, is it an app or do I have to install it?

I've tried installing a few different times and didn't have much luck. I had a friend tell me there was an app for the mac, but I can't find it.

OK, so this is really strange, and for the life of me, I cannot even slightly begin to understand what in God's name is going on.

So, using the google Chrome browser specifically, I go to docs.google.com and sign in.

I create a totally new blank document in Google Docs, not something from a template.

I should add that both screen reader and also braille support have been enabled.

For context, I'm going to be taking a course to prep for the CPACC exam. I was told yesterday that it involves Google Docs and Google Sheets, quite heavily, and that it's a little finicky with VoiceOver.

I wanted to ask the community for firsthand knowledge. Is it better to use windows with google sheets and docs, or is it okay to use VoiceOver on the mac?

Any tips would be appreciated! The course doesn't start until March.

a friend sent a link to a Google Docs sheet. I clicked it and it opened in Safari. I activated accessibility improvements but couldn't find the sheet itself. I found the toolbar and the menuebar and some other elements but no sign of the wanted sheet.
I then searched on Applevis for formu topics and found the last one from 2019. Long time ago.
So: Is anyone aware whether Google Docs accessibility broke down or am I doing something wrong?
Or would you recommend to use Google Docs on iPhone rather than on the Mac?

I have a student who is trying to figure out the VO key command to navigating into an expanded menu in google docs. We have gotten into file>download>... but can't jump into the expanded menu to select a download format.

I’m completely blind and use VoiceOver. I use Google Docs in both Chrome and Safari on my Mac. Each browser handles Google products differently and has its own set of issues. However, I’ll focus on Chrome here, since it’s Google’s own browser.

I am having a strange problem with google docs and sheets on a M1 MacBook using safari and chrome.

When creating a new doc or sheet VoiceOver works fantastic. In fact the speed under chrome is very impressive.

However, if I open an existing document I cannot interact with the doc or sheet. The cursor is moving around as confirmed by a sighted user. But I am unable to interact and have it read aloud.

But pop a new tab in the same session and create a new document. Everything works fine.

Can anyone with an intel or M1 MacBook replicate this?

Google Drive has several keyboard shortcuts for navigating and working with files. For example, with a list of files open in Drive using Safari, the j and k keys move focus down and up the list of files. Up until Ventura, VoiceOver would read each file name as focus moved through the list. It worked very well. Never had a problem with it.

Since Ventura, rather than read the file name, j and k cause VoiceOver to say, "List Box, Loading". This makes it impossible to know which file has focus. As a workaround, Google Chrome behaves just as it always has.

after migration from my mac mini to my mac studio running Monterey OS, google drive always making problems,
1- always asking for syncing etc, and sometimes refuse to sync my folders on my HD.
2- if i need to go to it's preferences, Voice over can not see it at all, i can find it in the extrus bar, but it's not there, do not know what is the issue, and what can i do to make it working normally.

Does anyone have experience with using googl hangouts on the mac using chrome or safari? Which works better? I was trying to answer or make a call and can't figure out how to do it. Does the desktop client work better? I tried with messages as well, but it isn't working correctly. Thanks.
