If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. I use voiceover on my mac in column mode. Under additional speech verbosity settings, do you know what option I would have to change in order for voiceover not to announce what type of icon is highlighted? For example, when I am in my applications folder and voiceover highlights app store, after it reads the name of the icon, it will then say 'You are currently on an application'. How would I stop voiceover from saying what type of icon it is and just to read the name of the icon?

Hi all. So I have portable preferences set up on my Mac, and they are in a USv. My question is this. If, four instance, I connect the USV to my moms Mac, I know that it will ask me if I want to use the preferences stored in the USV. So if I press yes, while I am using the preferences stored in the USV, will I have to keep the USV connected to the computer, or do the preferences get imported to the Mac, and I can remove the USV? Thanks.

Looking for an accessible way to rip compact discs using aIFF. Hoping to put my CD collection on an external hard drive. Using iTunes is not practical in this case, as many of the titles are already MP3s. Also would appreciate any suggestions that would allow me to access and use the created library from my iPhone. I am wondering about an accessible virtualization software for the Mac. I want to be able to run various windows OS X and Linux variations in a virtual machine. Any recommendations or some proof of examples that work well. I am willing to spend a little bit of money on this if need be, though I prefer free. Last week, Adobe announced the upcoming release of Adobe Acrobat DC and Adobe Reader DC, These updates claim to have accessibility features that would be a game changer on the mac. As I'm sure everyone knows, there is currently little meaningful support for tagged pdf's on the mac, which makes accessing pdf's annoying at best. This update claims that it will change all of this. Hi all. When I open pages, and I open a Microsoft word document or other documents that are not in pages format, A warning window appears. This is very annoying, when I am switching between documents. The warning window just appears on the window chooser menu. On the menu bar, under view there is an option that says hide warnings. I pressed on this option, However, the warnings are still in the window chooser menu. Does anyone know if these warnings can be removed entirely? Thanks for any help.
