Just a warning to people that have attempted to update OS X apps today. Apple's SSL certificate for swscan.apple.com expired last night at midnight, and it seems they neglected to renew it. Thus, many users are experiencing errors when downloading appps. Clicking ok on the dialogue will allow you to download non-Apple app updates, but not system updates or apps created by Apple, at least temporarily.

Hi. I just wanna know if yosemite works fine now??? Last year, i up graded to yosemite but it wasn't working well with voice over so i had to call apple to help me down grade again. I just wanna know if i can improve speed and other features by upgrading again take advantage of more features of it. If it's goin to work well? Thank you :)

I've recently noticed that in Microsoft Word on my iMac Voicover won't speak as I type. In the Voiceover Utility I have it set to speak characters and words. This used to work OK so I'm wondering why it doesn't any more. In terms of what version of Microsoft Word I'm using, if I look under "About Word", it says "Version 15.16 (151105).
Any help gratefully received.

I was wondering if Osara was compatible with the new Macs with m1 and m2 chips. I know Reaper is but I don't know about Osara. If it is not optimized yet, will it works with Rosetta 2?

may someone of you who us Microsoft Word 2016 for mac confirm that there’s no keyboard based highlighting of any text is possible since OS X 10.11 El Capitan is installed?

Just recently I noticed after updating to OSX 10.9.3 my apps in the applications folder were no longer in alphabetical order. If anyone else noticed this and would like it to show up that way, here is the fix I found. after asking the question I went and tried something. I found if you want your apps in alphabetical order do the following. Open the apps folder, type command j and tabb to sort by. Make sure name is selected. for some reason mine was selected to show size. I changed it and now all is bacdk in alphabetical order. Hoep if anyone had this issue, this will help.

Which email client do you prefer using on your Mac and which do you find easiest to use in terms of general workflow and VO accessibility?
Do you use the native OSX Mail app, MS Outlook, something browser based or something else?

For the past 3 or so years I've been using a iMac, but I still use a Windows PC at work. Pritty soon I'm going to switch to a Mac for work as well and completely stop using Windows.
We use Google mail for business, so on the Windows side I always just access my email through a browser, Firefox or Internet Explorer.

I was using the calculator app on the Mac yesterday and when I did the plus sign it didn't say it. Is their a way I can get it to say the signs or are their other calculator apps for the Mac that work with voiceover? I also have the punctuation set to some.

given the removal of the infovox IVox voices at the end of 2020 due to the ability to download multilingual voices in mac OS, are there any other TTS voices one can download other than the ones that're provided by Apple in VoiceOver preferences? what if you don't want Vocalizer voices? Obviously, and as to be expected, Eloquence is not an option, and that doesn't phase me, but what else exists for TTS anyway, or is the market just dominated with Nuance as the TTS leader?

When I compose a new message and navigate to the "to" field and start to type the cursor is moved to the bold button by whatever key I press instead of typing.

I have a mac with the touchbar. I have tried restarting my computer and updating my OS.

It does not do it with voiceover off.

I’ve made the switch back to a MacBook Pro. I am trying to decide on an email client. I already have access to outlook, so it won’t cost me anything. Which of the two email clients would you recommend, and why?

During a Zoom meeting, I realized both the Zoom and VoiceOver volumes were pretty low. When I got off, I checked the output volume in system settings and saw it had dropped to 33 percent. Any idea why this is? I didn't mess with it.

I have just recently downloaded the overdrive app for Mac. For some reasons I cannot figure out how to download books or sign into my account. Does Anyone know How to use this app? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all, this has been an issue for me for a while and it is just aggravating and am hoping there is an easy fix to it. Either that or I'm missing something completely when interacting with package installers when they ask for a system password to continue on with the installation.

I feel like this is a niche question but hopefully someone can answer it.

Does anyone know how to get VO on a MacBook Pro running Mac OS Ventura to announce the page number when the cursor moves to a new page in the Pages app? My Intel-based Mac mini does this, and my old MacBook Pro did this, but my new MacBook Pro does not. Seems like a small thing but it's actually something that was a convenient feature in my typical workflow. If there is any sort of verbosity or Pages layout setting that can affect this behavior, please let me know? Thanks!

I am having a weird issue, and it doesn't seem to matter if I'm using Apple Mail or Outlook. I can use home and end, FN left and right arrow, to move to the beginning and end of my email list. I can not use page up and page down to move through chunks of my email. Does anyone know what causes this and what I can do about it?
