I am new to the forum, and to voice over. I have learned a fair bit, but there are still gaps in my knowledge. I am training a blind friend how to use the interface and need a few tips and pointers. Thank you in advance for your help.
email: how does one navigate to the newest email in the inbox. I currently interact with left table, settle on the 'inbox' button, then VO+J to preview the emails in the adjacent table. But flicking up emails one by one is very time consuming if the app places the user on an email received months ago.

I'm settling in with my new Mac Mini and El Capitan. Is there a shortcut key combination to get directly to the address bar in Safari? Right now I'm navigating to the Safari toolbar and then attempting to locate the address bar. Seems like there should be a faster way.

Has anyone noticed an issue in quicklook where audio continuously stutters when using quicklook? I've been having this issue for a little while now, since upgrading to mac os mojave I think. I'm seeking an accessible app that will let me pitch-shift some vocals, without altering speed, and also retaining the clarity of the original vocals. Amadeus pro has a pitch shifter, but it muddies the audio, even when the quality is set to best. Is there an app to let me lower the pitch of vocals, while retaining quality? Reaper probably would, but I'm so impatient, and reaper right now is a bit over my head, lol.

Is it just me, or is anyone else not a fan of what they've done with quicknav in Sonoma? They separated arrow quicknav from one letter navigation on web sites. I really don't like this as now, when I am in a form field, toggle off arrow quicknav but have single letter navigation on, even when interacting with a form field, and I try to type, it interprets some things as intended for navigation, not that I am trying to type in a field. Is there a way to get it back like it was before, where left and right arrows pressed together would toggle the two of them at the same time?

has anyone else noticed quirks with Notes in macOS Sonoma with VoiceOver? Specifically when using bulleted lists and then if there is text under the bulleted (or numbered) list VO just ignores it and says 'new line'?
Also, while editing words, if you change a word or correct it, then when reading back with the arrow keys VoiceOver reads the word in halves, like start to edit point, then edit point to end? I've seen this on a couple of divergent machines so I feel like it's a bug.

So! Macbook pro M2 base model 14 inch, stable Macos 14.4.1, Voiceover in English verbosity to medium generally.

As a long-time VoiceOver user, I prefer to set VoiceOver verbosity to Low (VO Utility, > Verbosity, > Speech Tab, Default Speech Verbosity). The only problem is that, by default, VoiceOver doesn't announce the status of radio buttons when verbosity is set to Low.

Things have apparently changed since I last looked at Apple Music radio. I'm experiencing two problems:]1. If I select a recent station on my Mac to play and hit the play button, it simply will not play.
2. There seems to be no way to look for particular stations anymore--searching Apple Music no longer gives me a heading for stations.

I am wondering if anyone uses a Mac with Radium. I usually use my XM satellite radio account successfully with Radium, but lately it is not working properly. It tells me I am logged in successfully, but when I look for a station, no search results appear. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have tried signing out and back into the service several times to no affect. I would appreciate any help. P.S. As I write this, these AirPods are really uncomfortable. Can't wait for my ear hooks to get hear from Amazon.

As the title says, I'm experiencing an issue with hyphens in Pages: when writing words like Romania and many others, a hyphen appears inside the word (e.g. Ro-mania) and I cannot remove it. I don't think the problem is with auto hyphenation, because even when I tick the box in the toolbar which prompts Pages to remove autohyphenation from specific paragraphs, they are still there.
Could someone suggest a solution for this problem?

Hi all. So I recently got a new Mac and have been loving it! I have a random question, Does the keyboard commander script use your system voice or voiceover voice, because whenever I do it, it uses my voiceover voice. thanks in advance.
