Mac
Hello everyone. I was wondering if you knew of any good apps to read books with on the Mac. Particularly Bookshare books. I'm using a MacBook Pro 13 inch 2017 with the Touch Bar.
Thank you.
Hello all,
Since there is no daisy reader currently for the Mac, what are some suggestions for reading books and other documents on the mac? For example pub or books from NBP.

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know how to read comments in word documents in either text edit or pages?
Thanks,

Hi, all. I'm running Big Sur 11.4 on a Mac M1. I'm finding that VoiceOver skips content when in Safari Reader when I've done either a VO-B or VO-A to read continuously. This also happens if I swipe down with two fingers on the trackpad. However, if I press VO-right arrow, I do not, of course, skip content while reading an article on the CNN website while in Reader. Is this a glitch with CNN, or does this happen for others while using Safari Reader. The student I'm teaching and I are hoping to avoid the ads on CNN so that's why we're choosing to use Reader.
Hi friends,
I'd like to know if there is an app to read Daisy books on Big Sur.
Thank you in advance.
I have a friend who needs to read his ePub textbooks on the mac. Two Questions about this:
1. I know ePub books read in iBooks, but Iβm finding navigating the text clunky. The up and down arrows go from page to page, it seems, and not line by line, so Iβm having to use the trackpad rotor on the navigation setting to do that. I donβt have much experience with iBooks, and my friend even less so. Is there an easier way to navigate the text?
2. What are the options for accessible ePub readers for the mac other than iBooks?
Thanks!
How do I read the formatting of a Text Edit document on my Mac running the latest OS?
Hello, In the following text:
class dummy(object):

def b(self,*args,**kwargs):
"Do other stuff."

NVDA can be configured to say "four spaces", "eight spaces", or "no indent". How can I get VoiceOver to do this?
Hello everyone.
A few weeks ago I posted a reply on a Forum in which someone was asking about how to convert Kindle files to other formats. My initial reply has gotten so much feedback, in the form of private messages, that I have decided to post my ideas, around the topic, in a more visible and easy to find place.
Before we get started I need to make two disclaimers.
Hi Mac users, whenever I am reading an article in Safari when I want to read a spelling or when I want to read a letter by letter, how can I read with VoiceOver? Anybody could help me on this?
Hi all,
I'm starting University soon and have been given reading lists for my course. I'll be using a Mac when at University and will be expected to read many long documents.
My question is, what is the best way to read very lengthy documents on the Mac? Preferably I would use a Braille display but this is not ideal as the Braille support on the Mac seems to be a little lacking.
Hi! Is there a Reading Mode in Pages where I can navigate a document through heading, list and so on? if so, how do I switch to this mode.
thank you.

Hello.
I need help. I'm watching a show on Netflix in safari. How do I get Netflix to read the subtitles out loud automatically? Thanks.
Hi all.
I know Book Reader more or less does this, but I don't know about the other two.
I know both Speech Central and Voice Dream play books, sort of like audio books. That's fine, if I'm just reading. But I also might want to copy text, find out how something is spelled, or what have you. So I would also like a program that just displays text I can read with Voiceover. Think of reading a file in TextEdit, for instance.
Hi everybody.
What do we like for reading longer texts? Mostly books, but I'm trying to generalize a bit. On Windows I use QRead for most things, because I can have multiple files open, select and copy text if needed, and it generally saves my place in whatever's open. For Kindle I use Kindle, obviously, if it's web stuff I'll often just read it in Firefox.
Hi again,
What is the current recommendation for reading pdf documents on a Mac running El Capitan?
Is Preview still the best choice?
Have the reported accessibility issues in Skim been addressed?
It is surprising to me that pdf documents may be more accessible using an iPhone than a Mac.
Thanks.
What program (preferably free) would people suggest for reading .pdf files on the Mac? I'm assuming Preview isn't the best option. If it is, in fact, the best option, could anyone give me some pointers on how to actually use it, as I always feel vaguely lost in terms of advancing pages, navigating the text in any way other than a page at a time, and so on. Thanks!
I would appreciate some help on reading PDF docs on the Mac using the Acrobat Reader. When I open a PDF file, I am unable to get to the text itself to read. Many thanks.
Greetings all
I am not sure if this has been posted before here, but I do find PDF documents almost fully accessible in Adobe Acrobat. I have read several posts of Mac users seeking recommendations for accessible PDF reader.
Would you please confirm this?
