I have a Mack Mini and I have a bit of an issue here. Sometimes, my volume will turn itself down and it gets lowered. Everything gets lowered. Not just Voice over, but the sounds do too. This is a fresh install of the OSX as well. Not sure what is going on. Anyone else experience this?
I have updated my iphone, watch and macbook.
For the latter, I unfortunately have to tell that the chatgpt website bug on safari with VO hasn't been patched yet. As discussed on another thread, refreshing the page make us able to fully read GPT's response, including bullet lists. But for this little info, I haven't tested nor discovered anything else on any platform so far.
Hi all. For some reason, the Mac will suddenly ask me to authenticate wifi calling again in Facetime. This happens when the computer goes to sleep and I open it. It doesn't do this consistently. Has anyone had this? I mean I just have to hit "OK" and the dialog goes away. I'm just mildly curious and a bit annoyed when it comes up. i haven't changed passwords or anything like that.
Hi guys!
Just a quick question. On iOS we can react to mesages with thumbs up or laughter etc., either from the actions rotor menu or with a double tap and hold on the message.
How can this be done with VoiceOVer on Mac? I've read somewhere that the sighted method is to mouse click and hold on the message bouble, but I haven't managed to find a VO equivalent to this.
I want to read out a single word, but double clicking to highlight, right click, speech, starting speaking is too slow.
I made a couple of applescripts to help: One that reads out the clipboard in a loop, and another that tried to copy word next to, or under the cursor to the clipboard.
However, the script to copy the word to the clipboard doesn't work.
Is there another way? I only need this in text fields.
Can anyone advise me which combo of keys will get VO to read a full page to me? I am a former PC and JAWS user and I'm pretty confident VO has a comparable say all command. Thanks much!
Hello, I am trying to find the key command for 'Read from current cursor to end of document' on my Mac Book Air. The keystroke V/O + A will only read from the beginning of the document in the 'Pages' app on the Mac Book. However, when reading a pdf and using the keystroke V/O + A I notice that voiceover will read from current position. Is there any solution or keystroke alternative I can use? With JAWS on pc all I need to do is press 'Insert + down arrow' and JAWS will read from that point to the end but Voiceover on mac sees to be different.
When you encounter an image, you'll likely hear something like this: 120922ah86btvi4hb8577w.jpg image, which doesn't help you much. then you press VO-l, then you get something like this: an illustration of ice cream cones and text, Detected Document, Possible Text, JULES DESTROOPER. •q LGlVla. BELGIAN BUTTER WAFFLEs, now that's helpful.
Hello. can do or Write apple script for VoiceOver can read last message on skype using right option key? for E.G press right option key and other keys?
Since moving to Sequoia, I've observed that the Read Next Paragraph command fails to function properly in documents that contain single-line paragraphs. I've observed this behavior in both Scrivener and TextEdit. This is not a TexKit v1 or TextKit v2 issue, it appears to be global in current MacOS.
To reproduce, open TextEdit and enter several normal-length paragraphs that span more than one line. Observe that you can read all the content by starting at the top and using VO+Shift+PageDown to read.
Any way to read a row or column in Numbers on Mac?
Here's my situation. I load a large-ish Excel spreadsheet into Numbers, and I have my focus way out at cell AG134 or something like that. Now, I'd like to know the headers for the current column or row.
Hi all!
I purchased ReadHearPro some time ago to read Learning Ally and Bookshare books. It worked fine until recently. Now when I navigate to a heading or page and press enter to begin playing the book it does not read. I can still view the html content but it will not continuously read the book.
Does anybody use this app and have any ideas as to what might be going on?
Thanks,
Jim
I have just joined a group that uses Google Drive for posting and sharing documents and providing edits to those docs. I haven't used Google Drive before and I'm slowly figuring how to navigate it (which I don't find easy). When I locate a file to read or edit, however, I can't figure out how to access the file.
Are there any guides posted on how to use Google Drive or any suggestions from this helpful community?
THanks
Before you begin, I need to apologize for the shortcomings in my English. I am brazilian and use a Mac since 2011, when the Lion came, with voices in Portuguese. I love the Mac, the control I have on it, the stability, the predictability, accessibility, and how responsive the VoiceOver in all situations.
Hello, after updating the operating system of my mac to Big Sur, I saw that the voice over began to read the barrier-free documents in the Adobe reader.
Is there such a possibility of reading using the "preview" of mac os?
Since the situation was much worse before than on Windows?
Or maybe there are some other programs for reading barrier-free PDF documents on a Mac?
Hi. I am a blind academic and a new Mac user. My problem is that Microsoft Word is extremely slow with Voiceover on Mac with large documents. I need to read and engage with book long documents which have a few hundred pages. While Mac works alright with smaller documents, it takes for ever to load larger documents. I want to work with multiple book length documents with Word on Mac and I am not being able to do this.
